In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The place smelled dank, much different than Radiant Garden, and it bothered Zaos. He signed up for the tournament for one reason alone, he thought he might just be able to get a bit stronger. So as he walked into the arena, clutching his twin blades so tight that his knuckles were a milky white.
He looked around at the countless spirits watching the arena, and a sickly feeling came over him, the closest he'd seen to spirits were the Heartless and Nobodies...but never an actual "Ghost". He simply stood, looking around as he waited for this Riku guy to show up.
Tch... how'd he get talked into getting himself into something like this? He was pretty that he'd never see the day that he'd actually be entering a Colosseum challenge just 'for the fun on it'. He'd have to go back and give Hikari an earful for dragging him into agreement to this. The challenges in and of themselves were fine, yes... it was just the fact that this dawdled away time that he he could be using for something else. This was a game as far as he was concerned (a very dangerous game, yes... but he's encountered so much more that was more life threatening than what was going on now).
He looked around the dark surroundings of the place, deciding it best to keep his thoughts away from the wisps of spirits that hovered the arena. Annoyances... that's what they seemed to be at the moment. Hnh... he couldn't allow for those to impede his though process while going about his challenges, that was for sure. Knowing the wisps like that, there was those few that he knew of that still hung onto that 'mischievous' trait that they had in their life when they were alive... they'd be the ones he'd have to keep an eye out for since he knew them to like to obscure vision and stuff of the like.
Stepping out onto the arena, Riku looked to the person before him and placed a thumb in his pocket. This was really just all too troublesome... but Hikari would bite his head off if he didn't at least just participate a bit in the tournament. Whatever... he stood there, his cyan eyes scanning his opponent real quick and not giving the first greeting. He was just like that, not like this person really needed to know too much about him. Besides, his opponent more than likely already knew his name... this was a match-up after all.
He gave a slight irritated, inaudible sigh and slackened his stance some, ending up in more of a slouch than standing up straight. More than anything... he kind of hoped for this to be over as soon as possible.
This startled Zaos to no avail, but he gripped his blades and ran forward, somewhat awkwardly, not quite knowing how to move with the blades all that well, but he luckily managed not to trip. He focused on his footsteps leading up to his opponent, and once he was about 6 feet away, he spoke to him telepathically.
"I'm Zaos...good luck."
He jumped forward, crossing both of the swords for Riku's chest, but alas, he had failed to notice that he was holding the swords inccorectly, and the sharp edges were turned away, so even if the hit connected, it would be mere strength (what little he possesed) to do the damage, if any at all. He was in mid-air with the strike, therefore he could not do much to correct it, so he silently cursed himself.
The call for the fight to begin rang out and his opponent had rushed towards him. Heh... looks like his opponent liked to rush into things... not much to his liking, but Riku would make of it what he would. Bracing his legs back a bit, the silver-haired teen had withdrawn his hand from his pocket and was ready for just about anything to happen. He was physically fit, and slight acrobatics for dip, dodging and rolling was something he could have handled very easily.
As his opponent neared him, a voice rang through his head, though no one actually spoke, "I'm Zaos...good luck."
After that, his opponent had taken this time to leap forwards with the blades that he wielded. Heh, it was quite amusing, in a sense. The fact that some people just decided to rush into things without really giving things a second thought that is... especially when Riku caught the fact that his blades were being wielded backwards. Holding in his own, Riku's arm swung forwards, and in a flash of light, Zaos' swords had come into contact with the flat of Way to the Dawn.
A smirk danced across Riku's lips, "Riku... likewise."
Introductions were now out of the way, and Zaos' first attack, dodged in its entirety, which made little difference due to his foul ups anyway. Pushing against the flat of the strange blade, he jumped back, and flipped the swords in hand, so they now would face correctly when he attacked.
"Thats a wierd sword.." Though was it truly wierd? For all Zaos knew, everyone could be wielding these new blades, and he could simply be using relics of a time long gone. That is pretty much what they were, relics.
No matter, it was obvious to Zaos that his opponent was a much more seasoned fighter, the coolness that irradiated from him told him that much. So he kept his eyes on him, slowly circling around Riku, trying to think about what he could do, if anything. The obvious thing, was to try and equalize his priorities, using a sword for defense, and a sword for offense, rather than blindly striking out with both.
Holding the left blade across his chest to use defensively, he took a step forward, making a quick jab with the right blade. I must look a fool he thought to himself whilst taking action I wonder if they are betting against me.. But as souls, what could they bet?
Giving a flick of his blade to get the feel of having it in his grasp once again, Riku shifted his stance and held Way to the Dawn high above his head and held his free hand out in an offensive stance. He had picked this up over the time he had trained with Sora back on the Destiny Islands, and over the time he traveled the worlds, he had also developed it and molded the stance and technique to his better advantage. This was his own style, and it would continue to be his own style.
He kept his eyes on his opponent and narrowed them slightly as he saw Zaos shift his blades and held them correctly. His own hand tightened on the hilt of Dawn and the blade shivered with anticipation, as the blade's own being was longing to be in the heated up battle that was soon to come. As it stood, Keyblades chose their wielder... and Way to the Dawn... well, Way to the Dawn was happy to have chosen Riku as it's bearer. He was calm and collected, not one to rush into things... and when he did get into battle, it seemed as if it were always well planned out like a choreographed dance or something.
The silver-haired teen watched as Zaos circled him and followed his circling. His feet, like his legs, were braced, ready for rapid movement, should he have needed to get out of the way or anything of the sort. Observing his foe more, Riku saw him raise a blade over his chest. Defense it looked like. Riku clenched his jaw as he kept an eye on Zaos.
Movement!
Acting quickly to repel the blade, Riku shifted Way to the Dawn in his grasp, holding it with the tip pointing down and had the blunt side of it meet with Zaos' own blade once again. It was extraordinary how he could react to all of these things so quickly... then again... training at a young age and having to apply those learned tactics to real battle... it was hard not to react accordingly.
Pushing himself back, Riku looked to Zaos and then decided to finally may his own attack at him. Again, he was the one that wanted this over as soon as possible... there was no way that that would be happening if he were to remain stationary, only anticipating his opponent's next move. So, darting forwards, Riku ducked down upon nearing him, and swung Dawn up for an uppercut, hoping that it would at least knock him off kilter.
((Yeah...so I'm just gonna be letting Riku win now xD Plans are to kill of Zaos anyway...and what better way then an Accidental death by Riku? =D))
Whatever it was that Riku was planning for, Zaos thought he would be ready. The mysterious blade came at him from below, and Zaos made what could be considered the last mistake of his young life. He had, rather than trying to push back against the blade, sent his defensive blade around, trying to circle it, and push it off to the side. No avail. As Riku's weapon connected with Zaos' chest, weak from being a shut in, and rare excercise, a small crack would sound out. The upper section of his ribcage cracking from the force, even if it wasn't too much; he was a very frail young man.
The bones impacted inwards, sharp shards cutting into his lungs, and another making it to his heart...where it pounded out, futile though it was..until it beat no more, and his body dropped to the floor, blades clattering as the thunk of his head echoed throughout the arena. This was his Curtain Call...Show over..at least he died like his parents, in battle, rather than cooped up in his room.
((Sorry if I dissapointed, but the plan has been to kill off the character, as stated before, so..good luck in future matches!))
"Well, well, well. Riku. Never knew you had it in ya to kill someone in cold blood." Hades said as he got up from his throne. Letting down the barrier Hades gave another wave of his hands and a strange red smoke came from the back of his throne. It wrapped around Zaos's body and carried him away. Letting out a bone chilling laugh Hades snapped his fingers and sent Riku into the waiting room in a puff of smoke.
