In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The pathways of darkness were a place of power for heartless. Most heartless only really used it for transport and being born, but most heartless weren't Jude. Jude sat on the ground (as it was) and just let the darkness flow into him. It healed and rejuvenated him.
Now if only his prey would come to him, here. Really, the only problem was that this place was boring. The strange flashing lights were bizarre to look at, but really they just lights, and they became dull after a while.
((I'm asuming this is for heartless only, but can nobodies jump in too? After all, both heartless and nobodies use this same thing))
A swaying, stick-like figure sluggishly tip-tapped into this place of darkness. Its body abruptly halted, wiggling back and forth like light jello before finally freezing like a cold hard statue, The basic dance of a Gambler Nobody. Cutler, the gambler, and he was just shuffling a deck of cards in mid-air .... he didn't have a reason to be here. But, does nothing need a reason for anything? As a lifeless creature, he simply came here to do exactly ... nothing.
Still, a nobody wouldn't mind recreation. That's what Cutler and the other gamblers were all about. His empty black face stared at a Neoshadow (Jude). Certainly a heartless would be a good test. Cutler himself was a literal "heartless", so he shouldn't/couldn't be afraid of them. With that, the gambler's body slithered over to the black being. From his empty sleeves, he tossed a few dice blocks at the neoshadow's feet.
((Yes, anyone with access to the pathways is welcome.))
Well now, this was interesting. A nobody gambler wanted to play. Well, it was not as if he had anything better to do. Jude had played games as a way to pass the time, back before he died, and one thing had stuck in his head about this sort of thing.
Ienzo's grey eyes passed over the duo as he melted into the void. He smiled as he saw Jude, and regarded the Nobody curiously. Recreation had stranded him recently, and he supposed he would join in.
His silver voice echoed in the void as a throne of Darkness enveloped him. "Hey, don't forget me." A hand slivered into his coat, and emerged with a flickering Heart. "The stakes, naturally. Will this do?"
Cutler held no care as to who joined into a little game here. Even if it was another one of those pesky humanoid heartless. He continued to shuffle a deck of cards in mid-air, but the deck suddenly exploded into playing cards that rained down to the gambler's pointed feet ... A heart? Cutler's empty black face stared at the flickering heart in the heartless's hand ... That was such a thing he needed right now. But HOW can he succesfully use a heart without one of those keyblades? The gambler nobody's sleeves let out 2 dark thorns, both of which held a small bag of lots of munny. Munny isn't as good as a heart, but it was still a gamble. Cutler looked at Jude, what was to bet?
((Apologies about the late post, things at home are rather hectic right now.))
So, the ante had been a few bags of bullets, and the other a heart. The heart was good, the bullets, not so much. He should bet something powerful, that he did not need.
What was that saying from his home? Ah, yes, "never bet anything you can't afford to loose." There was also the saying, "bet everything and cheat" but seeing as how Jude did not even know what they were playing yet, he decided to start out with unnecessary thing.
Reaching into himself to get to his pockets, he pulled out a single bright down feather. Jude had picked it up because it felt powerful and like a heart, but had been rapidly disappointed when it turned out to taste like the potential of life, and not actually life its self. But he had kept it because it was powerful, and powerful things came in handy sooner or later.
Setting down the feather, Jude smirked to himself. It did not matter what game they were playing, Jude wanted to get that heart.
Ienzo raised his eyebrow. His little neo-shadow had discovered a Phoenix Down. That could be quite useful! He chuckled as he sat next to them, and looked to the person beside him. "It seems as though the ante has been set, and it was time to get the game on. The pot was piled between the three, and Ienzo looked to the neo-shadow.
"I have been meaning to speak to you. Elaeus told me of your abilities, and I am still interested in your allegiance."
He wondered where the Nobody's allegiances were. Was he a loner? Or an outcast? Maybe he was similar to Marluxia, the traitor... Whatever he was, it didn't matter. All Ienzo cared about right now was a nice game or two. Gambling had always been his thing. It wasn't like Hearts were hard to get for a Heartless. Elaeus had given Jude one prior, he did recall. Both his acquaintances seemed interested in it... He would leave it in play for a while.
