In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Characters: Jadis/Antique/Caxnon (not neccesarily in that order)
With a push from the First District, the doors opened smoothly bowing to the witch's strength. She didn't need to do much as the same delicate royal hands could easily bend a lamp post. For such quality, many would say she was part giantess or a metafemale, but let them all be corrected, Jadis is a Charn, the last empress of Charn. Her diginity was always with her as well as her pride. Her juvenile desires had ran it course years ago with the thirst for knowledge and deeper magic. Like any hunger for knowing, a price was paid. For Jadis, two were, and now she was as mellow as before.
She wasn't as icy cold beckoning instant death as before; her patience and prior death-like experience stretched her tolerance melting her to a cool, but lethal sorceress. The proof of her change was close by. Never had Jadis picked up an apprentice; she had tools, but not a pupil. This would be a different experience; she wouldn't be molding or manipulating one to fit a particular form. Jadis would just be nutritions to a seed that would sprout into an evergreen tree that would be ever lush.
Antique was her name, and she was a peculiar child with fomalities and pink and blue hued hair. Her eagerness and dignified mannerisms made the sorceress chuckle inwardly. It has indeed been a long time, since she seen, encountered, or interacted with such combination. In away, she reminded her of herself at a very young age where innocence was still prominent. Now she would be the teacher of the innocent; there would be one less child roaming around carelessly without a proper guide.
"We are almost there." Jadis called out to the pair. The Sorceress and the apprentice was accompanied by a Nobody. Like most, he questioned his existence and experiences. Even if he wasn't human any more, he was still a child in heart. He wasn't a nuisance either. Actually the only being she crossed to truly be a royal pain was the red spitting gremlin. Even Lyon was more tolerable. "There's a pathway there, and there lies the door filled with runes. The most significant is fire."
Jadis didn't continue until she was at the door touching it with the palm of her hand, "As such, fire is it's key. This door is quite obvious; there have been some far more complicated. How sad, it's quite a let down. I shall handle that once we get in."
( Yay new thread. I guess I'll close the other one after Antique posts)
The Nobody walked behind the white witch and her new apprentice. He didn't want to stay too close, no that wasn't it. He wanted to give them some space, after all he was the odd one out in the group.
As he walked through the streets he couldn't help noticing how much 'Dark energy' there was here, it felt very uncomfortable.
'' Why is it that the Ice element is rare these days?'' Caxnon asked
Post by Ellie who has 0% on Oct 26, 2009 20:39:16 GMT -4
"That is quite a good question. I guess people don't find ice intimidating or it's difficult to study. Some people favor the element of fire seeing it as raw power in both distruction and creation. Like Kingdom Hearts, it's wishy washy; it can go either way with a blink of an eye." Her hand touched the fire emblem.
"As for myself, I was naturally connected to water and ice as if its my spirit's element. In my homeland, we concentrate on our personal element, then try to branch out. It's easier to start what you're related to versus something conflicting. Naturally fire isn't my forte, but I can manipulate it well." Waving her hand, Jadis created a dark portal to allow them to go to the other side.
"You shall undergo that as well Antique. In the worlds, there are...," Jadis stopped to ponder; her fingers wiggled as she mentally counted. As she thought, the ice witch silently entered the portal emerging in the interior of the room. It was a large carvern filled with water and a island.
"There a five main elements with many subcategories, but still everything can somewhat dwindle down to these elements." Her finger pointed creating a five pointed star with floating ice marbles. "Those would be your basic fire, air, water, earth, and spirit. Any other sources of magic can root from deeper magic. Tsk tsk, it seems that may have confused you both."
Jadis cleared her through before starting,"There are now two main category of magic such as: deeper magic and elemental. At one point, the elements weren't considered as magic, because they were a part of the natural world, but everything was re-defined once the elements fit the definition of magic."
"I would like to see how much these young ones know. What is the core definition of magic?" Jadis asked before summoning darkness forming the spell of Gravity. In a mass, it lifted one of the floating rocks leading to the island as it hovered towards them.
((Sorry guys! I've been struck with the flu and ah--well, let's say my comprehension has been seriously lacking.))
Antique felt a little bit in the dark about everything. Magic wasn't something she understood very well except in the few fairy tales she had been told as a child. She kept quiet, listening to Jadis and Caxnon talk. All she really knew was the sword. After all, the rules in her world made it nearly impossible for such things to exist. And if they somehow did exist, it was considered evil, and was quickly put down before it could gain too much power or stir too much trouble.
She wondered what element she was connected to the most. Things were familiar to her, but she had never really thought about it. She tapped her cheek thoughtfully, but couldn't come up with anything.
A dark portal was created and she eyed it wearily, remembering something about them--and why she shouldn't like them, but watched as Jadis walked through it. She remembered the first time a portal like that had appeared, someone had guided her through it almost forcefully--an arm around her waist and a hand covering her eyes. While the other two weren't looking, she shut her eyes as she followed Jadis in. Peeking open a fuchsia eye, she saw water and an island, and listened to her new teacher speak again.
She watched the demonstration with awe--it was clear she had never really been exposed to magic...she followed the ice beads and everything Jadis did with an intense concentration and fascination very few ever showed.
"I would like to see how much these young ones know. What is the core definition of magic?"
Watching the rock lift out of the water amazed her that she almost didn't hear the question. "Magic...?" she asked, and thought about it. Well, for her, magic wasn't something that was natural. And it did things that shouldn't be done. "Being able to do things that are...beyond normal?" she whispered. It wasn't something she knew well, and her answer was proof of it.
( Oh no!! It's alraedy bothering my school. I hope you get better soon)
'' Interesting'' Caxnon said.
He had never seen such and amazing sight. Had this place been here the entire time? It made sense, no one came here. So even If there were a hundred of these things, not a single person would notice.
The Nobody thought about Jadis's question, trying to think of a good answer.
'' I think magic is part of....everything. The worlds are connected by magic, and so are some people. Magic..is a part of the universe.'' Caxnon said.

"I would have to say that the person correct here is Antique. By definition, magic is going beyond and overriding the laws of nature that exist and bound worlds. That's why elements have its own category as elemental magic, because they are now in manipulation of one's desire not by nature."
Raising her foot, she stepped upon the large rock formation and beckoned the pair to join her. "Unfortunately, the worlds aren't supposed to be connected. That's where this massive in-balance started, the destruction of world order. Worlds aren't supposed to know the existence of other worlds. Why? You'll have a situation like this, but to a greater scale. Think about a tyrannt ruling over a country; if he knew of multiple worlds' existence. The universe can quiver in chaos. By nature, everyone is supposed to be seperate, but by corruption not necessarily related to magic caused the barriers to fall."
As she spoke the rock levitated to start a drift towards the island. Although her voice traveled amongst them, it still held a natural silence with the accompany of soft water hitting the cavern's sides and beach. "We aren't connected by one another through magic, but by heart. The Heart is a part of the universe; magic can just be manipulated by a heart or manipulate a heart, the bender of nature."
"By that, there are two categories of magic: deep magic and elemental. Deep magic is stereotypically broken into two parts black and white magic. Many had categorize magic used to for self desire including harm is 'black', but it's all magic depending on how one uses it. Instead of black, it's considered dark magic. That is one that call for indept discipline, work, discovery and also consequences." Her hand waved down causing the rock to softly land in the waters.
"Now we'll shall see what lies here, then start to find out your element and your first project..."
As the rock levitated and began to move, Antique felt something akin to nausea run through her. Hand delicately covering her lips, and really just to get a grip on what was going on, she listened to what Jadis was saying, being careful to absorb everything she said. Her eyes glanced around, and she couldn't happen to notice the almost misty like substance that was around.
It wasn't a normal mist, but something else entirely. Her hand moved from her mouth to the air to touch it--but it wasn't something you could necessarily feel. How bizarre! She glanced at Jadis and Caxnon--could they see it? Or was this something that was so common in this world that it wasn't worth paying attention to? Her hand retreated lightly to the side, feeling foolish.
The rock landed softly in the waters, and she somewhat felt relieved that it did--though she wouldn't let anyone see that.
"Now we'll shall see what lies here, then start to find out your element and your first project..."
"M'lady," Antique asked, bringing her full attention to the who just now took her under her wing. She noticed that the mist she had seen around this place was heavily around her too. How--strange! Why hadn't she noticed that before?
She shook her head, clearing it a bit, and tried not to focus on the misty substance. It must be a trick of this place. Or something.
There wasn't much for Caxnon to say at the moment. He was alreadly thinking about Jadi's definition of magic, which happened to be fascinating.
The landed in the water, and the rock stopped moving. He wasn't used to this kind of travel, it made him dizzy. Sure he could fly, but he never really tried to use that ability much.
''How would I...go about doing that?"
'' I would like to know that as well'' Caxnon said

Jadis looked back with a smile, "We'll have to release you from your conscious thoughts to let your unconscious free to point out your element for you. Caxnon you can participate as well. Although you're a nobody, I'm sure you'll have an element, because a nobody is a portion of a human. Your element would be the same to the element of your heartless, because you're both portions to a whole."
Her brows furrowed lightly, but the soft frown melted away as quick as it was revealed. Turning her head, she stepped off the rock. "Now to find the entrance of this...building...," Jadis was at lost of words finding the perfect word to describe it. It looked more of a runaway hut than anything.
"I wonder who used to live hear; it looks like a little hideout for vagabonds..."
((I'm leaving tomorrow morning to clear my head because of recent events in my life. <3 I'll do my best to post again tonight too. I'll return on Monday.))
"Release my conciousness...?" Antique whispered, wondering how that was going to happen. She hoped it wasn't going to be through a blow to the head. Even when Antique had worn full blown armor, blows to the head were disorientating....and she never felt pleasant after them.
She smiled up at Caxnon, "Pretty cool, huh? We can learn together then!" she smiled enthusiastically. She wondered what Caxnon's element was--either way, the way Antique learned, it would probably be to her best advantage. Sure, she probably could have learned through books and the such, but she was more likely to learn something if she observed it, and was able to do it first hand. She jumped delicately off the rock, glad that it wasn't moving anymore.
"If I take this side of the building, you can take the other, okay?" she said to Caxnon without so much as a second thought before she began to scope the building up. Force of habit, really. She had been left in charge of cell in an army before, after all. She took the left, observing the shack-like building. Wouldn't it be easier just to break in?
A small puff of smoke escaped from the chimney of the house, as that's what it really was. It wasn't a big house, but the illusion covering the exterior made it seem like it was falling down.
The interior of the house was not under illusion, and was maintained by brooms rivaling those of Yen Sid. The few chairs and drawers in the room were half-covered by white sheets, and in the center of the room there was a raised portion of the floor, a table with a high backed leather chair and three other chairs around the table. In the far corner of the room, a fireplace was crackling merrily away, its flames fading from one color to the next.
Now, the illusion was good- but it wasn't perfect. For instance, it couldn't hide all the little puffs of smoke that would come out of the chimney, and the front door felt warm, and there were various other things that Merlin meant to cover up, like the fact that one of the windows allowed light to leak out, but luckily it was on the left side of the house, and not the front.
He hadn't gotten around to patching though, and eventually forgot. At the moment, Merlin was dressed in his normal purple robes, but he had his reading glasses on, a pair of spectacles that covered his eyes and magnified everything. His wards warned him of a few intruders, but as wrapped up in his studies as he was, nothing short of them entering the house would make him stir.
((hey... since ya'll are near my second house... is it ok if i pop in? I can even let you use the training room upstairs and show you a few spells or something... I did ask elaeus:: she said it'd be ok if you guys were ok with it.))

(Caxnon you're up. It's ok with me if a staff says it's alright since Merlin is supposed to stay in Radiant Garden unless told otherwise. *rings bell* let's get this thread on the road woot woot)
( Sorry, hope you come back soon Antique. Oh and It's cool, you can join)
'' Alright'' Caxnon said as he stood at the other side of the building. He wasn't sure how he was going to release his conciousness, but he was going to try. First he had to clear his mind, and let his sub-concious roam free. The nobody cleared his head of all distractions, and waited.
Though he wanted to look inside the building, he couldn't help but wonder what his element was. It took several minutes, for one of the floating Orbs to move towards him.
The Nobody opened his eyes, and looked at the orb in front of him.
It was white, It didn't look like fire, air or water. So maybe it was earth, though he expected it to have a brownish color. This one however, was just plain white.

Jadis started to wander around the building searching for a door. She walked towards the right seeing a boarded up windows. If she couldn't find an opening the sorcerer would just make one. Her hand touched the house making it chill as runes began coating the building. The runes began turning blue and illuminated.
"Antique dear have you found an opening. If not, I shall surely make one."
