In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

It's been already a week since Reiho met again with all the people she met in the café of the first district. Caxnon was doing just fine, Antique ... she was a bit bad but was getting better, Mikael seemed to be quite devote to help Antique and Tyson was a friendly fella eager for living a great adventure as usual.
As for those sources of malice ... those two imps weren't really that much of a menace. Apparently they were just lowly servants of a bigger power and the detective even felt a bit of pity for their situation. And Kousei ... that guy never learns his lessons. He tried his usual mind tricks again but with her awakened and newfound powers, Reiho discovered his ill intentions behind that facade of honesty and noble goals.
Hitting the road as everyday, Reiho was looking for people to help and mysteries to solve, one of them being where that criminal was hiding. He simply ... disappeared but the young justice loving girl was sure she was going to find him again, probably to stop him from tricking people and stealing things.
"Too many things happened lately. I hope I don't lose my own self"
During that one week period between the last time she saw Kousei and the current date many interesting things happened. The strange room with many doors become something normal, and that "something" that awakened within her, that "thing" grew stronger with every day and she wasn't sure if either she was going to control it, or it was going to control her.
".. Something is going to happen today, i feel something strange near ..."
That augmented sensitivity was both a blessing and a curse. She felt things very few people could feel and that gave her an edge in battle. Alas, she was unable to "disable" her augmented senses and was constantly feeling things. If weren't due her strong will she would've been driven insane due her new abilities.
She wasn't sure what was that strange presence getting closer to her, but it felt somehow ... familiar, a nasty selfish presence softened by a veil of ... sorrow.
Kousei, now going by Yuri, had been sulking lately. It was so strange, and hard getting used to. But she still couldn't look down without an immature smirk. She was completely changed, had longer hair, had the body of a girl, all these girly features. But still wore her old clothes from when she was a guy. Along with that, the trademark piercing was still there above his eye with the skull. And the twisted sword, which was now on his back, kind of made her stand out a bit.
Walking along the street it was a good day. She was actually enjoying this without doing any mischief. When she was alone she let the curse out free and allowed herself to be as girly as the curse made her. But near people she strives to keep the old Kousei in tact. Looking back and forth to check if anyone was near she sat down on the bench. It was a strange new life as a girl. Darn that witch for doing this. Getting up she realized that it was still a nice day regardless and started walking along again. It was a feminine thing to do, but of course that was a side effect.
Turning a corner she saw someone she recognized from back when she was really a he. This was going to be tough. The clothing was the same and the piecing above the eye would likely give it away, but one could only hope. Not wanting to be discovered she started humming and walked casually by. Hopefully Reiho would think nothing of it and Kousei (Yuri) could go on with her life.
Remembrance of better times. A song evoking a forgotten past. She sang along the streets a song of hope and love, a song popular from her world with the power to soothe her pained heart with sweet memories of her shattered past
" ... oh let me love you so"
Singing away her problems, she continued patrolling the streets, thinking about her slowly becoming clearer memories and how keeping her mind busy kept her augmented senses shut off.
Even with her mind busy with many thoughts, she sensed a familiar feeling from a girl wearing ill fitting clothes she passed by a mere second ago.
"Do i know you?"
She asked her, looking at her nicely shaped body. Somehow she looked like somebody she met before, but she couldn't remember well who was that person. Maybe it was due her clothes? Maybe it was due that strange aura of danger around her? Regardless what was the source of her doubt, she was sure that girl was somebody she knew from somewhere.
Kousei Yuri was kind of annoyed that she had to sneak out of this. He couldn't use his tricks out of it because she would surely recognize the intelligence. And she couldn't simply lie, that's why she is a she and not a he anymore. Lying only gets people in worse situations. Than she thought of a new type of strategy. Lying and not lying, telling the truth hidden behind the lie. Just what he did, but he'd have to do it much differently before.
Stopping nervously she gave a nice smile and eagerly put her hand out for a handshake. This may make his plans easier for now to be truthful. 'Yuri' could become a trusting friend, than something would happen and once she changed back, Kousei would have them as his. Not very hard, but for this she had to be a nice, perky girl. Almost made her sick to her stomach, but she was a good actor before, and emotions don't affect skills.
"Well, I don't think I know you. Does the name Yuri sound familiar?"
She said all cheery like. This was different, the voice change made her acting feel so different. Just the fact that it feels like someone else is talking, she felt like she didn't have any control.
The ill fitting clothes wearing girl presented herself as Yuri and extended her hand at Reiho. Despite the aura of danger within her, she looked like a nice Person.
"Yuri? hmm ... no, i don't know that name, but you remember me of somebody i would rather prefer to forget"
That was weird, a closer look revealed she wore clothes similar to the obnoxious's thief and the person she looked like was Kousei. However some important factors didn't match, namely the fact Kousei was a smug bastard guy and this one was a cheerful girl.
"Anyway, my name is Reiho Kirisame, detective of Traverse Town, and i help people in problems ... are you new in the town? I could help you if you want"
She extended her hand to share a handshake with the new girl and presented herself. She was interested in keeping that girl's company not only because she always helped newcomers but also because she was interested in discovering why that girl looked so much like Kousei, and why that girl had an eerie aura of danger, like Kousei's. Maybe she was a long lost twin sister of the obnoxious thief?
Yuri gave a pleasant smile. But inside Kousei was scowling. This was terrible, she had to act all good and nice because on the outside that's what she seemed to be. But inside he was still Kousei. His brain worked the same way, his logic worked the same way, the only problem was her emotions got in the way. But now she managed to separate Kousei and Yuri, making it so he can somewhat control the girl side of him. Mixing his extreme thought, and her pleasant likable nature of emotion, Kousei may be able to use this. But than something flashed, a memory.
"You must learn the seven virtues... but if you are to do the opposite it will have worse effects"
That's what that witch said. Last time he opposed her he ended up a she. That witch wouldn't hesitate, and his mind tricks weren't anything against her because her intelligence was near equal to his. Maybe she should try getting a new start. Don't want to test this curse. Getting rid of it as fast as possible would be nice. But than again, Kousei was a master of trickery, and Yuri was the perfect mask.
"Well..."
Yuri was acting nervous now. Must seem more timid, never had he met a nice girl that was as bold and confident as Kousei would.
"These creature things keep attacking me. Like these little black thingies..."
Acting ignorant about something. Perfect. Doesn't fit Kousei, especially not the admitting said ignorance.
"But there doesn't seem to be any here right now. What are the things anyway?"
That girl was so cute and innocent. Maybe Antique sticked some of her love for cute thing in Reiho, because she too was starting to think how cute was the the way Yuri talked.
"Those black thingies are heartless, they are very bad and hurt everybody.... but don't worry, we are safe in this part of the town!"
The girl seemed to be nervous, as if she were scared. Reiho felt impulsed to try to comfort her but then she noticed something was out of place. She was carrying with her a wicked sword that apparently saw a lot of use. What's more, it looked like it was an unwieldy weapon custom made so only somebody very proficient at swordsmanship could use it without hurting him/herself. Also there was that strange aura of danger around her and when they shared a handshake, Reiho noticed that Yuri's weren't the pure and smooth hands of a timid maid but the hands of a person skilled in performing precise handiwork.and swordfight.
"Those heartless must've been very tough to scare a good fighter like you"
Reiho thought she could trust in this strong but timid warrior. She wanted to give her the typical tour around the town but the aura of danger within Yuri was growing stronger ... however it wasn't an aura of malice, it felt like something .. magical, slowly weakening something inside the girl.
"Miss Yuri, this may sound a bit silly, but ... are you under a curse?"
That feeling of a magical force causing a strange effect in somebody wasn't foreign to Reiho. She was sure somewhere in her past she learned about curses or was inflicted by one, but her fragmented memories didn't help at all in discovering the truth.
Yuri smiled and nodded at the explanation as if she understood. Gah! What an ignoramus! Who would give such a stupid and silly explanation for these beings of the dark. How can I possibly have any trouble in manipulating this moron!: These were the thoughts running through Kousei's brain. But on the outside it seemed as if the cute innocent girl liked the explanation and was satisfied with such vague words.
Than Reiho said the words about it scaring such a warrior. Truth be told, she as very observant and managed to catch him. He knew his own sword would likely cause this plan to utterly fail. But Kousei was smart, clever, and obviously could outsmart this girl and trick her on almost every plain and scenario. With a simple smile the cute innocent Yuri blushed at the compliment.
"Well thank you but I'm really not all that good. I'm still training, I'm in a beginners class for swords and all. I just got out and haven't had time to put the sword away"
It was a lazy lie. But Kousei was kind of nervous and it showed on the outside. Yuri was sweating due to the nervousness and the loose fitting clothes would also help prove the point. Easier to move in, and what kind of girl would wear these kind of clothes unless it was some sort of a uniform. Than with a small laugh, too girly of a laugh for Kousei. But now all he was a girl so he couldn't control the pitch of his voice and laughter, he thought about the comment. Maybe she wasn't such a moron after all. But either way, she wasn't as smart as Kousei.
"A curse?! Don't be silly. There's no such thing as curses"
She couldn't shake off her mind the feeling that something powerful was affecting Yuri. And it wasn't her aura of danger, it was something else that was threatening her safety ... something very, very dangerous, even more dangerous than her own aura of danger.
"I must insist, there's something wrong about you, and you look and feel like somebody very dangerous i met in the past"
She insisted in trying to feel that strange thing within Yuri, focusing her augmented spiritual/magical awareness in detecting that curse.
"Kill the greedy one ... absorb the greedy one ... sacrifice the greedy one"
That voice again, the same voice that resonated within her head that day when everything went down the drain and she almost lost the friendship of everybody ... and she attacked Kousei.
"No, this time I'm myself, and she's innocent!"
The detective somehow lost the posture again and like the previous time, felt the urge to press her right hand on the chest of that greedy and selfish presence in front of her. She did and ... fondled the right breast of the girl.
Visions of pure insanity were seen by the detective as she struggled to stop touching Yuri ....
"Mammon, stop!" "Mammon, stop!"
The voice of that doppelganger living in the room with many doors within her soul calmed the slightly altered detective, who repeated in front of Yuri the same words her other self said, and during that strange trance she realized the truth between the lies and illusions.
"M-Mister Kousei, is that you?"
She stopped touching the right breast of Yuri, now revealed as Kousei and somehow didn't felt anger but pity for the boy-girl. And the white vapor of before once more emanated from his/her chest, this time as a fading signal of a mark engraved in his/her chest, a symbol representing "greed", one of the seven deadly sins and antithesis of one of the seven virtues, "charity"
Yuri simply watched, looking slightly worried as the girl started going nuts. Than she remembered that this happened before, back when she was a guy. Last time it was some sort of trance like thing, and she apparently wanted to try and kill him. This time it was the same thing but she kept saying the same thing. These weird words that didn't sound like her. Than suddenly the girl grabbed her chest. It was an immature thing to find funny but he couldn't help but snicker. This feeling was new to her, because of course as a guy he could never feel this physical type of feeling.
Than it started feeling a little bit painful. Like something was pulling on her or something. Of course this was a new feeling so she had no idea if that was normal or not. But it didn't seem very normal. Than suddenly the hand was pulled off and white vapor appeared again. This time it did hurt, this wasn't a normal feeling. This wasn't part of the curse, but maybe the reason it hurt this time was because now Kousei was a frail girl and had emotions alike. Than she heard the question and the smirk faded. The feeling that admittedly felt nice, except for the pain, was now gone. Now her plans were up in flames. But before answering she noticed a mark on her chest. A sign, he had seen it somewhere before, maybe way back when he was reading all those books for study, but he didn't remember them.
"I go by Yuri now. You were correct before though. I was cursed."
Said Kousei/Yuri as she looked at Reiho. He hadn't had to feel actual pain in so long. It was a strange new thing. And added to the other strange new thing, his life was taking major turns.
Too bad, the "girl" stopped acting nicely and was back to her usual overconfident attitude. That kinda fitted her.
"Is that so? Then ... well, good luck with that, Miss Yuri"
She wanted to help of course, but a prideful and obnoxious formerly a guy and now a girl like Kousei, now Yuri, would never ask for help, that goes completely against her work etiquette.
"Thinking better, I'm gonna have to arrest you for bringing curses to the town, it's a bad thing and I'm not going to leave you alone until the curse fades away."
Or maybe not. While she was a fan of justice, sometimes the best way to deliver justice was to not do anything and let things flow with normality.
"Miss Yuri, I was thinking that maybe I should simply let the curse proceed and set you free. If somebody cursed you probably it's because you deserve it, and I don't think the course would spread to the other people anyway. And you look better as a girl."
One criminal less in the world was equal to one less trouble in the world. What could she possibly loss from letting her remain cursed other than a little feeling of guilty?
"Explain what you know about the curse, Miss Yuri. I may or may not help depending what you say; even a criminal deserves a fair trial"
This... Cannot... Be... Happening. Listening intently, there was that confident smile on her face. So recognizable on Kousei. Of course, Yuri was far from being actually confident. The person she could so easily manipulate and she was stuck going to this girl for help. Thinking through it Yuri tried lifting the sword out of the hilt. Than realized that it was harder to pull out than before. Giving up she sighed. No choice in this situation.
"Well. Getting away won't be easy. And this time you seem to have me in checkmate. But keep in mind being a victim of a curse is no crime, and I have not committed a single crime since that little coffee mishap that gave me the pleasure of meeting the likes of you"
Yuri didn't sound anything like Kousei. So she may not seem as good, she was still getting used to the new voice. Still seeming like someone else was talking she went on.
"The way I got this curse though. I went a little too far ahead on my plan. I relaxed too much. And I faced a powerful witch, in which I made the mistake of lying from the start. Instead of being smart about it. And our little word game went on and on, and her self righteousness decided to put a curse on me because I decided to tell her precious minions my true opinion. Now I have to learn these seven virtues or something before I can turn back"
Still standing there it felt kind of awkward. Due to the feeling of someone else talking instead of herself, Kousei was hesitant about this. He couldn't trust other people to do his talking for him. His fighting yes, his recruiting yes, but his talking NO.
"So, as long as you act nicely according to the seven heavenly virtues you can stop the curse. That's very easy, Miss Yuri."
Secretly, she was cheering for whoever was the witch. When she had "curse" in mind she thought about things like transforming in a beast and never returning back until finding true love, but if all she had to do was to act like a normal good person, breaking the curse was a piece of cake.
"Let's see ... according to a book I read before the seven heavenly virtues are Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Patience, Kindness and Humility. I think a normal person would have no trouble living according those virtues"
Of course, when there's light there's darkness as well, so she also mentioned the counterpart of the seven heavenly virtues.
"In the other side, we have the seven deadly sins. Lust, Gluttony, Greed. Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. Miss Yuri, back when you were Kousei you followed a life full of greed and extreme pride, you should try to avoid living that kind of life again"
Now the question was, could a sinful girl like Yuri at least try to live according the seven virtues? And a even better question, if she did, would she continue walking the path of good instead of falling again in the same vices? Only time would tell ...
Yuri listened intently. She already knew all of this stuff, every single piece of it. But it slipped her mind on the opposites. Than she remembered what the witch had said about following the opposite. So basically if she kept being Kousei things will only get worse and worse. She had to change for real to get back to the way she was. That was going to take a long time.
"Well the way I see it, changing on the inside is something I can't control. It'll have to take some time I guess."
Than remembering the mark that's on her chest, Yuri thought about the text she read with it. The greed sign. That's what it was. This simply showed how much of a hard time she was going to have with this curse. Than walking away she turned to Reiho. Might as well try starting now.
"Uh. Thanks for the help, I guess"
Kousei just said thank you for useless information. All of that stuff she already knew. Of course it wasn't really Kousei anymore. But they still had the same mind. Thinking about things, Yuri just stood there, trying to think up a plan for this. Still holding on to Kousei's ways of planning and scheming. Somehow this curse was going to be lifted...
She answered with an a little to happy tone. She knew that Yuri's thanks were completely void of true meaning and she was thanking only because being rude would make her be a step closer to whatever is the ultimate punishment of the curse. Somehow It was a lot easier to read Yuri's true intentions since she was cursed. Maybe the curse affected her cunning intellect or maybe Reiho simply got used to the obnoxious girl's shenanigans from her days as Kousei.
"Oh, and if were thinking about that, I recommend you to simply accept the conditions of the curse and don't try anything silly like trying to break it manually. I think only the witch who cursed you or somebody with superior abilities could break the curse. And while i'm not sure how the curse works, if i were the witch who casted it, I would make sure it would punish you if you attempted or even had the thought of try to break it using means other than fulfilling the required conditions"
Yuri was known for always thinking one step ahead everything, but as the old proverb says, haste makes waste and trying to speed up things could cost Yuri more than her now non existent manhood.
