In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

People...everywhere...dodging their feet...trying to get somewhere...anywhere. Strange surroundings, strange road...no friends around...unknown places...WHERE AM I?!?!?! Rhino thought.
He normally didn't freak out like that unless he was meeting a new superhero, but Rhino had been on this strange world, with no friends, for forever! He had been dodging people's feet, scrounding for food, searching the world, and he just couldn't take it anymore!
He had met a huge dragon, and a little imp a while back, but then they had both left. Just...left...
With tears in his eyes, Rhino quietly said, "...Bolt...Mittens...Penny...where are you?" He had always had someone with him, whether it had been that old woman, or his new friends, he had always had someone.
Except now...nobody is here now... And with that sad thought, Rhino stepped over to the edge of the road, and slowly started walking, with tears in his eyes. Where was he walking? He had no idea. Hopefully toward someone who could help him, but he didn't know for sure.
"Finally , some fresh air! I should probably check those oxygen converter gummis when I get back." Mizan ran his hand through his still damp hair; he had been in the shower when the autopilot signaled that the Alyson was in orbit over Olympus.
Mizan had come to this world on this way to Traverse Town in an attempt to find survivors from Calderat, his home. He wouldn't have stopped, but he was running low on food and the clerk at the bookshop in Radiant Garden said this place had the best pasta in this Realm.
As he searched for a place to eat, Mizan's eyes fell upon a rather strange sight, triggering a classic Mizan pose. This involves a tilt of the head to the right, accompanied by raising his left eyebrow. A... crying hamster in a ball? Okay... I better see what's wrong.
Mizan was slightly unnerved by the anthropomorphic critter, but that didn't override his soft spot for small, cute animals. He had been blessed with three ferrets back home, but they all passed away long before the attack.
Mizan walked over to the side of the road where the poor thing was and knelt down slowly, so as not to startle the hamster. "Are you alright, little guy? If you need help, I might be able to assist you." Mizan tried to put as much comfort into these words as he could. He just hoped that his potential friend spoke a language he understood. If he spoke at all.
((OOC: I read the back story on your character, so if you want you can just say that he told it to Mizan. That way you don't have to type as much.))
"Are you alright, little guy? If you need help, I might be able to assist you."
Unfortunately, Rhino had no way of knowing that he could talk to humans. He had learned that even if he thought he was speaking to a human, it had just sounded like hamster squeaks. So, Rhino, hearing this nice mane say something nice, turned to him, and crawled over to him slowly, and just sat down, finally letting the tears stream down his face.
((OOC: Don't worry about the post. It happens to the best of us.))
Mizan quickly noted that the poor hamster didn't realize that he could talk to him. Something about traveling to another world automatically enabled you to speak and understand that world's language. Nevertheless, this little guy at least knew Mizan was a friend.
As the traffic got worse, Mizan decided that now would be a good time to get off the road. A bench just a bit further from the road than they were now served as the perfect spot.
"We need to get off the road, little guy. Can you make it over to that bench?" Mizan pointed at it to show his companion where it was, and turning back with a comforting smile. "Also, I'm pretty sure that you can talk like me. All you've got to do is try."
((OOC: How else can everyone understand everyone? Dozens of worlds couldn't all have the same language.))
...I can talk to him? I...didn't know that. Bolt probably would have known...Mittens would have known too. If only they were here... And with that thought, Rhino felt a couple more tears fall down his cheek. Hearing that they should move off the road, Rhino crawled over to the nearest bench, and looked up at this nice human, expecting him to help him onto the high bench.
"Umm...is this...yup, I'm talking. Can you help me onto the bench?
"Of course I will." With that, Mizan gently lifted his furry companion onto the bench, then sat down himself. He was losing time in his search, but something told him that he could help this little guy.
"So, now that we're away from the road, I can try to find a way to help you. We haven't been introduced yet, I'm Mizan. Could you describe what happened before you found yourself here? That will help me figure out how to help."
As he finished his query, Mizan noticed a chill breeze sweep the area. Mizan was used to cold climates thanks to the winters on his world. He was willing to bet that this hamster was not. Without a second thought, He took his jacket off and wrapped it like a blanket around his companion and gave him another comforting smile. "There, that probably feels better."
"My name is Rhino." And with tears occasionally falling from his face, Rhino told Mizan this story. At times, Rhino had to stop or else he would have broken down completely. He wasn't quite there, but if things didn't turn out for good, then he was certain he would have some kind of breakdown.
So that's why I felt like I should help him. He's a victim of the Heartless too. Mizan sighed, and as he prepared to tell his story his eyes shifted to a deep, sad navy blue.
"I'm from a world that no longer exists, much like yours. I was a happy, if slightly troubled, teenager, and I had a loving family and friends like brothers. That all changed one night about 1 year ago."
Mizan shifted uncomfortably, and then continued his tale. "I had just come home for Christmas, everyone was so happy to see me. That night, the Heartless, those black creatures you saw, decided to attack."
Mizan's hands began to shake, forcing him to clutch his pant legs, lest anyone see. "I won't go into the details of that night, as they would horrify you forever. What I will say is this: I was forced to watch my parents be turned into Heartless, and my world was destroyed. When I woke up, I was in another world. Now, I search the worlds for any other survivors from Calderat, my shattered home."
Mizan attempted to smile, but couldn't this time. "If your friends have the same strength of heart you do, then they are almost certainly still alive. The only question is where?"
After thinking for a little while Mizan stood up, a determined look set upon his face, and offered a hand as a platform for Rhino. "We have a choice, Rhino. We can search this world now, or we can take my ship to Traverse Town, where most of the survivors from destroyed worlds end up. Follow what your heart says, and it will lead us to them eventually."
Rhino listened to Mizan's story intently, feeling sorrowful for his loss, but feeling hope as Mizan told him that his friends would probably be alright. Seeing Mizan's hand offered to climb up on, Rhino did so, saying,
"Oh...umm...I'm not sure...I mean, this is the only place I know...but I really need to find my friends. Sure, let's go to Traverse Town!"
So, Rhino got back in his hamster ball, and stood, waiting for Mizan to say what they were going to do. Rhino never had given directions to anyone before, so he was used to just following instructions, so, that was what he was waiting for.
((Sorry it was so short and crappy that's what she said!))
Mizan nodded at his new friend's words, but couldn't resist a little smile when Rhino got back in his ball and looked to Mizan for directions. Having been shy and uncertain himself, he recognized that Rhino wanted him to lead. Mizan was still hungry, but he could eat on the ship. Helping Rhino find his friends was far more important than pasta!
"Alright Rhino, we need to get to the Alyson, my ship. While I suspect that you could easily keep up with me, I would rather not run the risk of you getting kicked around like a soccer ball in this crowd. So, I'll carry you there."
With that, Mizan picked up Rhino, still in his ball, and walked back the way he came. He used his experience from 7 years in band to keep his stride perfectly even, making the ride nice and smooth for Rhino.
"We'll get there in about five minutes. I'll have to check on something once we do, so feel free to explore while I work."
((OOC: If you want the details on the ship for your next post, I can get them to you. Just PM me if you do.))
