In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Max nodded his affirmation to Torq's comment, adding a grin to his face.
"That's true for most, but I know some who would love to hear the stories about scars over and over again," he said, stretching his right arm out, the joints popping loudly. That always felt so good.
It was about this time that the roaring sound of a huge crash interrupted their thoughts. Max just looked over at Torq, a look of slight shock on his face, and then turned back in the direction of the sound. As he searched, he caugth sight of a rather large pair of legs....attached to a just-as-big body.
Max cursed as he saw it, recognizing it from the siege of Fort Sentra. There had been at lesat a dozen of these things there. They weren't as strong as many of the other large heartless, but they had only been easy to take down because there had been a whole battalion of Fire Mages at the fort to help defend it. With just him and Torq, even one would be difficult. And, to make matters worse, there were smaller heartless beginning to pop up around the Darkside's feet, Shadows every one.
"We're in for one hell of a time," Max said, looking back over to Torq as he picked the butt of his spear's shaft off the ground....

Torq's smirk fell from his lips in a moment's time as the beast appeared. Without hesitation, the man drew his sword swiftly and eyed the creature, shifting so that he was level with Max.
"We're in for one hell of a time."
He glanced to the younger boy sidelong and then pursed his lips wryly at the creatures before them. The little ones began to pool towards them in a formless mass. He tightened his hands around his sword and smirked wryly.
"I've danced with hellfire once before. I can manage."
Torq grinned and nodded a challenge at Max before taking a swiftly number of steps forward towards the beasties, holding his sword at ready and making for the heart of the battle without a second thought.
Max saw Torq reach for his sword, and that was all the encouragement he needed. Without anothe word, he gathered water from the moisture in the air, and created a water disc in front of him. He stepped up on it, using the water to grip his feet so he wouldn't fall off, and sent the disc flying into the air, straight towards the Darkside. He held his spear at the ready, flying straight for its head.
When he got closed enough, he turned the water disc into a burst of water that sent him flying forward with immense force, propelling him straight into its head. As he landed, his spear embedded itself in the creature's head, sticking fast and giving him something to hold onto. With a grunt, he hoisted himself up somewhat, to where he could hold on with one arm, and yanked Jawn's sword free from its sheath. Then, he brought it up and down onto the Heartless' head, burying it in to the hilt.
As he sank the blade into its body, the Darkside shook its head, bringing its massive hands up to swat at him. He managed to barely hang on, even though he lost his grip ont he hilt of his sword and had to grab onto his spear again. Damn, this thing was going to be hard to bring down. Two blades stuck in its head and it was still standing?
This was insane. They had to find some other way to bring this thing down before it brought the two of them down.

Torq grinned wide as the boy took off. Well, if Max was going for the head, Torq would got for the feet!
Picking up his pace, Torq skid forward through the smaller Shadows, swiping away the little beasts with a swing of his blade. He clutched the weapon tightly and then drew it across horizontal in a wide arch through the front half of the creature's ankle.
He grit his teeth as the blade's speed slowed as it sliced into the creature, but he put his force into the action and the steel slid through the beast with relative ease. Smirking, he stepped back two paces and readjusted his grip.
Reversing his action, he turned and sliced at the beast's other ankle and then, once Balmung was again free from the creature's body, he stabbed the blade into the foe. Releasing his sword for only a moment, he twisted the blade in a complete three-sixty, and sliced upward into the Heartless' leg before pulling his sword free once more.
With a feral swipe at a mass of Shadows that had swarmed around him during the three actions, Torq turned his gaze skyward in search of the other warrior and to watch the Heartless. If they were lucky, the beast would loose it's balance.
And, Torq thought with bitter battle-time amusement. He hoped Max could catch himself if he fell.

Max felt the Darkside give a shudder and start to lean to one side, then begin to topple. All Max could do was mutter curses under his breath as he tried to gather enough water for a disc. By the time he had it formed, the Darkside was already crashing into the side of a building, the walls collapsing inward onto the building. The soldier managed to leap off of the massive Heartless just in time, landing expertly on the water disc.
He carried himself and the disc away, just out of reach of the Darkside's flailing arm as it landed fully on the ground and inside the building, watching as it picked itself back up, eyes glowing a brighter yellow as if in anger. It came back to its feet, and then sank to its knees, a light glowing inside the heart shaped hole in its chest. Then, energy bursts began firing from the light, making beelines towards Max and Torq.
Max just gathered more water from the nearby fountain, using it to create a shield to block the energy blasts, the darkness they were comprised of splashing off the sides of the makeshift shield. Max glared over at the damned Heartless to where his sword and spear were still embedded in its head. He had to get back to them, no matter what. He couldn't keep fighting without them.
"Hey!" he said, turning and yelling down to Torq,"Distract it, will ya?! I need to get my weapons back!"

As one of the blasts came towards him, Torq dove and rolled away onto his knees. The Shadows that had massed around the Darkside twitched and backed away from him, shaking their antenna at him. Now roughly on eye level with the beasts, he eyed the smallish creatures.
Their yellow eyes glowed back to meet his and he frowned as they circled and milled about him. Why, he asked silently, why don't they attack?
His thoughts were cut abruptly short when another blast zipped towards him and he kicked off from the ground to dodge it as it drew near.
"Distract it, will ya?! I need to get my weapons back!" cried the other warrior.
Torq nodded up to him with a smirk and replied, "Least I can do!"
With that, the Drasilian warrior flexed his legs and rushed the Darkside once more where the beast had fallen. Its legs damaged, the creature had fallen to its knees in the process. Torq wasted little time scaling onto the beast's calf and jumping its bent leg to the knee.
He blinked and continued unphased as a close fired blast of light from the creature's chest narrowly missed him for the third time. He was pushing his luck. And he knew it-- damn! Torq winced as another he had attempted to dodge seared the skin of his arm.
He grimaced and drove his blade into the Heartless's side as pain clouded his senses. He battered down the sensation and drove the blade deeper. The Darkside shook in what Torq took to be anger or pain and turned to claw at the Solder where he was assailing the creature's side.
Max let Torq run forward, towards the Darkside, and then when he had the thing distracted, he formed another water disc and flew up to the gigantic heartless' head, to where his spear and sword were still embedded in it.
He reached for the sword first, the easiest one to pull free, and yanked it free, twisting as he did to cause more damage. When it was free, he placed it back in its sheath and reached for his spear, grabbing it with both hands and pulling back on it as hard as he could. The spear yanked free, Josh and his water disc flying backward a bit from how hard he'd been pulling.
He regained his balance and bearings, and then shot forward again, this time for the Darkside's gut. He rammed into it hard, the spear burying itself up to where Max had it gripped in his hands, the smallest bit of the tip of the head showing out of the back of the Heartless' body.
Max himself was knocked back down to the ground, falling off of his water disc as he collided with the Darkside. He used some water to cushion his fall, although it still hurt. He hauled himself back to his feet as the Shadows on the ground began to creep closer to him, pulling his sword out again and brandishing it at them, to keep them back. Whenever one of them leapt at him, he brought the sword around, slicing them right out of the air.
Cyrus rushed into the 3rd District, ready to pound a few heartless senseless, when he paused in surprise at the Darkside assaulting the area, and two warriors holding their ground against the numerous Shadows and the like. They must be pretty good, since they haven't been squashed by that giant heartless.
He felt the power of fire rush towards his left hand before shooting off a condensed fireball at the Darkside's chest, hoping to distract it from the other two fighters. He rushed forward to help, but several Shadows and Soldiers blocked his path.
Cyrus gave a hefty swing of his Polearm, knocking back several Shadows that got too close, before impaling one on its sharp blade, and then following up with another horizontal slash, sending a Soldier sprawling. "What's with all these weaklings getting in my way?!"
He briefly considered pole vaulting over, but discarded the idea, not wanting to waste anymore energy. He swept upwards, sending a Soldier upwards, before meeting it in the air, slamming it down with a thud, right into a Shadow, destroying them both. "Hah! Two in one!"

[OOC: No problem. XD Sorry I took so long to reply.]
Wincing as his left arm panged with pain, he blinked down to the ground for only a moment when he saw a blast of fire strike the Darkside. He searched out the source and spotted the third warrior in a moment. So, someone called in the calvary, so to speak.
Grinning ferally, Torq withdrew his blade from the Darkside's torso and slashed at the creature's hand, severing away some of the dark beast's... "flesh." He adjusted his hold on the weapon and slashed once more.
Torq was just making to deal a third attack when the Darkside struggled to it's feet once more, wobbling under the effort, since it's legs had already been heavily damaged. The warrior, now with no where to stand, hurtled forward towards the ground.
Fuck.
He winced as his knees and palms slammed into the cobble stone. The shadows around him swarmed and he shook one of the creatures from his left arm while swiping at them others with his sword. The damn beast was unraveling the burned bandages further. He grimaced and turned his attention back to the Darkside. He could worry about that later. He gave a sideways glance to the other two warriors.
Max looked down as a fireball crashed into the Darkside right near him. He saw a big man with a lance down on the ground leaping on top of the heartless like he was some kind of tank. He just started plowing through them.
Who is this guy? Max thought as he looked over to where Torq was. He was starting to get swarmed with shadows and a few soldiers, the lesser heartless jumping on him. He even had to swat a heartless off of that bandaged arm of his. If he didn't get out of there quick, he'd get overrun.
Reacting on instinct, Max had his water dics swoop down and, as he neared Torq, he grabbed him by the arm, pulling him up higher into the air, away from the soldiers and shadows. He hauled the other soldier up onto the disc and patted him on the shoulder.
"You can thank me later, once this is all through with," Max said, looking to where the Darkside was. The large heartless was getting ready to send another volley of those energy blast things their way....
Cyrus batted away several Shadows in annoyance, and saw the two others find sanctuary on some floating water disk. So one of them has the water element. Nifty, but it has nothing on my fire. Unfortunately for him, he was the only target for the rest of the heartless, and they charged at him, hungry for hearts.
The pyrokinetic warrior grinned ferally, before slashing through a group of Soldiers, sending them flying back. "Heh! Let's see how these wimps like the heat!" The blade of his Polearm instantly lit up with blazing fire, engulfing the metal in searing flames, and several Shadows flinched back from the bright light that filled the immediate area of the normally dark district.
He gave the heartless no respite, however, and lunged at them. One got caught in the flames, but another snuck to his open side and slashed, causing him to fall back. Dammit! Cyrus swung his weapon in a wide circle, catching several that tried to attack from behind, and leaving him with a wide enough berth to dodge a swipe from a Soldier.
His eyes were suddenly drawn to the large Darkside, which was charging up an energy attack. He toyed with the idea of absorbing the energy to fuel his own weapon, but hesitated at the though of a backlash, if he could absorb it at all. There'll be plenty of chances to test that; ones not so life threatening.
I guess I'll just have to vault over it, then attack when it's vulnerable.

"Yeah, remind me about that later!"
Torq shifted uneasily for a moment as he worked out his balance on the disk. It was not unlike trying to find his center on a log in the middle of a stream. They had done that back home. It hadn't been pretty when one fell. Well, at least he wouldn't fall like that on the disc if he shifted awkwardly.
The soldier shifted and grimaced as he eyed the Darkside. "We need to get it down and keep it down!"
The warrior rose his sword sword and held it at ready to block any incoming attacks.
"And we need to get him off the ground, before he's Shadow bait." Torq mused, peering down at the third warrior. The mass of Shadows and Soldiers had begun to focus on him instead, now that he was the only grounded target.
"I know that," Max said, gritting his teeth,"But how? The damn thing keeps getting back up!"
The water manipulator looked around the district from where they were in the air. He couldn't find anything that could help them beat the gigantic heartless, so they'd just have to go at it the way they had been. Max, however, was already beginnign to formulate a plan in his mind.
"Look, keep it and the other heartless busy, okay? Once we get that Darkside down, the smaller heartless will be easier to beat," he said, turning back to look at Torq behind him on the disc. He swooped down low to the ground, letting the other off of the disc before moving back off,"Just keep it distracted for me! I have a plan!"
With that, he sent the disc, and himself, zooming back off towards the gigantic heartless again, back towards the head. This time, however, he didn't immediately start using his spear. All he did was bury it in the creatures shoulder, and then set to work with his sword.
Sure, it was a heartless. It had no real vital points or organs or anything like that. But, still, it should go down if it lost its head. That was Max's plan: to hack at its neck until its huge, black head fell off of its shoulders. Hopefully, it would work.
At least, he prayed to Sira it would as he began to make the first few chops at its black, shadaowy flesh....
Cyrus was vaguely aware of the Darkside completing the charge up for its energy blast as he hammered down another heartless. His breathing was slightly heavier, but he shook off the fatigue. He began converting the fire from his weapon into thermal energy, and got ready to jump, just as beam of energy shot out from the Darkside.
The beam's impact slammed into the ground behind him, missing by a good few feet. As he descended, he noticed one of the other fighters attack. Better give him some help. "That your best shot?! Fire!" Cyrus shot the spell towards the Darkside's damaged legs, hoping that it would give the man enough time to behead the thing.
He landed with a thud, and began hacking at the heartless again, forcing them to focus on himself. "Annoying pieces of shit! Die already!" He attacked viciously, the flames around his polearm already receded, as the last few Shadows and Soldiers were dispatched.

Torq nodded grimly as he stepped off of the water disk and watched Max soar through the air towards the Darkside's shoulders.
Right. Back up and distract. Torq grinned and slashed as a mass of Shadows, drawing closer to the third warrior. He rose his sword only slightly in recognition before turning to hack at a Soldier that leapt his way.
"Bastards are really stating to piss me off!"
He watched from the corner of his eye as the third soldier fired a blast of magic at the Darkside and he grimaced. Magic would be a useful thing to learn in the future, then maybe he could keep enemies occupied from a distance. He shook his head and dropped into a fighters stance to cleave another Shadow in two.
He glowered and rushed forward once more. If he didn't have distance powers, he would just go for the legs again! Without legs or a head, the Darkside would hardly be able to do anything, after all, Torq figured.
And so, the warrior hurried forward, slicing another Shadow out of his way and rolling past a mass of them. Planting his feet upon the ground once more, Torq drove his sword horizontally through the beast's legs again.
