In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

”How annoying, such drab and ugly creatures you are…” Kuja tribal remarked as he flipped over two Berserker Nobodies and an arrow of Holy magic pierced one and it dissipated into the realm of Nothingness and the other drew its sword and swiped at Kuja. The Genome cast a Protect spell and the sword connected and bounced off, Kuja deformed the shield and delivered several punches and kicks as he moved in circles around the beast. Who in turn shrunk down and the sword began to slam against the ground. Kuja flipped back a few times and snapped his fingers as he landed and arrows of Lightning shot out of the sky above head and rained down on the Nobody and the creature disappeared in agony.
”Oh, I do believe I drug it out much longer than need be. No matter, fun is a hard thing to come by.” the Heartless sighed as he walked away and noticed a few people were staring in awe at the sight of Kuja’s fighting powers. He passed them with a scoff and a small fire burning underneath. After some more walking he began to think on what Elaeus had said to him, he was to be introduced to someone(s) that had ties to the Dark XII but he has yet to met them in almost a year. Seven months have passed since his tainting and so far no missions or even a meeting. He stopped walking and closed his eyes. His dark aura rose off his shoulder as he tried to make contact with Elaeus.

Darkness began spiralling above the Heartless in the endless night sky where a few stars shined brightly or slowly dimmed. Like a whole in a balloon, black air splutter like ink, but remained contained in a single stream before slithering like a snake into the world formerly known as Traverse Town.
An obsidian snake made of darkness coiled around the tall blue-haired Heartless figure. Eyes weren't visible as the length of darkness opened a mouth filled with darkness composed fangs revealing a head full of bronze hair. With a low hiss, the darkness funneled into a single figure clothed in black with a matching black sash tied around the Heartless eyes, while the rest flowed behind him like a flag.
"It's much easier to find you when you make your presence known." Elaeus finally spoke out. The dark aura about them had caused uneasiness leaving their company limited to them. "It appears you have been busy. I can smell the stench of nothingness here."
A pair of silver eyes emerged from the shadows, and Ienzo brushed the black bangs slightly to the side. Still, only one of his silver eyes could be seen through the veil. Ienzo smiled at Elaeus and looked to the other.
"You are one of our recruits, aren't you?" A small smile. "I apologize for my absence. I am Ienzo, No. VI. It's nice to meet you."
Ienzo brushed his black jacket aside, revealing his gray undershirt. He leaned against a nearby streetlamp, closing his eyes. Traverse Town... A city of eternal night. He had to admit that this wasn't his favorite World. He enjoyed the Light in small doses, but here there was none. The Darkness was normal to him. Nothing special. So this World of shadows was uninteresting. He could find nothing new here.
This was where Ienzo had met Elaeus after his awakening. Damn... It had been a while. He hadn't realized that time had progressed so fast.
"So, Elaeus... Is this downtime or are you on another mission?" Another small smile. Elaeus had a knack for work... But even he should have a day off. Maybe they could find something enjoyable to do today.
(Sorry for delay in post) (This thread was made in opposition to "Fading Footsteps")
A smile swept across Kuja's face as Elaeus and Ienzo answered his call and came to him. He wanted questions to his answers and just general chat amongst peers. He gave a slight bow to Ienzo as he made himself known, "Ah, nice to meet another of the XII. Yes, I have volunteered my duty to the fulfillment of the XII. The name is Kuja. But introductions are not why I sought you out Elaeus. I have some questions for you that I would like answered." Kuja ran his hands through his hair slightly before continuing. First topic; The other recruits.
"I understand that you have made others cohorts in the group. Might I inquire as to who they are? It would be nice to know who I shall be interacting with, but don't think that is all I have prepared to ask. Just the ones with simple answers first is all."
(And I'm sorry for the bad reply. Dry muse today and I have tons of other threads to reply to)

"I hardly doubt for me there's any such thing of downtime. There's always something for some particular reason. Welcome to my life," Elaeus replied to Ienzo as he wiggled his hands in his pockets.
"Ah, nice to meet another of the XII. Yes, I have volunteered my duty to the fulfillment of the XII. The name is Kuja. But introductions are not why I sought you out Elaeus. I have some questions for you that I would like answered."
"See Ienzo; there's no such thing of downtime. What are these questions?"
"I understand that you have made others cohorts in the group. Might I inquire as to who they are? It would be nice to know who I shall be interacting with, but don't think that is all I have prepared to ask. Just the ones with simple answers first is all."
"I hardly thought that was all you wondered about. The fellow affiliates shall be known to you once another gathering and meeting is in stored. There have been many, but as busy as I may be I don't babysit, and not all recruits survive a little trip in the realm of darkness. I am aware of a particular dragon, Ciraph." His arms folded over his chest once his hands wiggled out their sanctuary, the pants pockets. "It seems with all of these cohorts they need to be ringed in with a tight leash."
His eyes drifted elsewhere as his nose twitched, "One was here, and..." Maverick had been in this world, but he couldn't find a strong path to him. Also the following scent reminded him of the hyena he stumbled on in the grasslands of the pridelands.
Ienzo nodded. Always busy... Maybe someday Elaeus would agree that they needed to let off some steam. Sure, the Darkness was fun, but having an party was always in good fashion. And the Mirage had to admit the Dark XII weren't all that great at averting boredom. Or maybe they just got bored when they weren't attacking. ((Or plotting, in Elaeus' case.))
He nodded to Kuja and examined the scene. "Hmm... What are we up to here?" Traverse Town, a town constantly plagued by the Heartless. It seemed as though some members of the Dark XII were drawn to a World of eternal night much like the Shadows. This "Kuja", he was an interesting character with a strange smell. Ienzo hoped he would be easier to work with than some of the other members.
"By the way, Elaeus... I have been looking over some of our other members. I think that I should assist them. Specifically Lea. He appears and disappears. With a proper lesson, I could teach him how to do things properly." The silver eyes flashed. "Specifically, keep him from getting too distracted. Your Gaia spread the word of the Nobody mishap. And wasn't it a lesser one?"
Indeed, Lea interested him. The Heartless had changed suddenly. Ienzo remembered when he had interrupted one of the first missions... He wanted to know what had made Lea so different in a short space of time. Perhaps he could use that knowledge to his advantage and shape this evolving Heartless into a new creature.
"Quite the social beasts, now, aren't we?" said a voice with a british accent that seemed to originate behind the group of three heartless. However, there was nobody there. As the voice spoke again, it changed from a british accent to a voice that spoke in a heaving rasp,"And you........Kuja...You should dress so you attract less attention. It would likely serve you better than that......thing you have on."
Lumaria stepped out from a crowd of people and walked over to where his fellow heartless were. He shoved a person or two from his way as he walked. HE came up and stopped in front of the group of three.
"Well met, Elaeus and Ienzo," Lumaria said with a grin that showed his pointy teeth, the voice he used mimicking Kuja's own,"and you as well, Kuja."
"Ciraph? Hmmm..." Kuja crossed his arms as he thought of the dragon he met some time ago. Pure white, majestic, and most of all, he was powerful. Kuja smirked at the thought of Ciraph making it into the XII, his mission was a success after all. A chuckle escaped from Kuja as he talked to Elaeus,
"Ah yes I remember the dragon Ciraph, I found him and the smallest speck of darkness in his heart. I fought him, drug some other kid that was there into the dark realm and Ciraph gave into the dark turning him into a Heartless. But what became of the kid I wonder? I could sense he isn't dead because he lived through the darkness and was found by a Nobody by the smell of it then. However, it se--" Kuja was cut off by a sound coming from behind him but no person was there. Either he alone heard it or something caused a reverberation of sound to make it seem it was there. The Genome turned his head to see a well clothed man walking towards them with a British accent. But being the observant man he is, Kuja noticed the mans throat muscles were barely moving and his trachea was not contracting and expanding as it should do when speaking. This man either is a very good ventriloquist or is using magic.
After a slight bow Kuja remarked on the newcomer. "A pleasure to meet another member of the XII, an honor it is for me. But I chose my outfit for various reasons; My beauty must be showed off as much as it can, looser clothing allows for more fluid movements and reactions are not marred, and it makes people believe I'm not a threat when they see me...most of the time." Kuja's head tilted when his own voice was being emitted from the man, so he was right. Magic. A scoff and an uncross of his arms and Kuja gave his praise,
"So I was right, you can't speak. You can use your magic to manipulate soundwaves in the air to make whatever sound you wish. A very useful power to have..."

Elaeus turned to look at his little brother figure, Ienzo, "Wasn't Lea already your ward before? Then again, he is one to run off, so I wouldn't blame you if you didn't keep up with him; I didn't keep up with Seed. Also don't you have enough on your plate? After all you're already babysitting that vagabond Nobody Marluxia-"
An unfamiliar voice that was directed towards them made his brows furrowed, but no matter how different it was, the scent was still the same.
"Well isn't it...," Elaeus paused as he looked him over. He was indeed different than before from the last time he had resurfaced lacking any trace of resemblance to Marluxia. It seemed the Heartless had lost likeliness towards his Nobody in his slumber as he took on an entire different image. What else could be different?
"I would feel shameful to confuse your name: Arumial or Lumaria? This wouldn't happen if you weren't gone for such a long unnecessary time period. I'm surprised you're not torturing, harrassing, or using someone for a little practice. In short, I would ask what interest you have to show up now." His arms folded over his chest. Elaeus had companied with Arumial, but when a heart retreats back to darkness, it was a mere gamble to see if you would get the same personal again.
Ienzo shrugged at the comment of his services. Lea was indeed hard to keep up with. The free-spirited Heartless had disappeared. Luckily, (and in contrast to the Heartless that had just appeared), Lea had stayed himself and hadn't been changed by the Darkness. His own evolution was controlled.
Whatever evolution had happened to Lumaria, it had damaged him. He was obviously not human. Ienzo chose this form due to the fact that he enjoyed his original Self and he still wanted to fit in with the Humans. This had obviously not been the case with Lumaria. He had only met this one once, when he went under his other name. It had been quite fun to watch Elaeus freak out over his favorite mug (Elaeus still couldn't say Relena was the smartest for that).
Ienzo crossed his arms as Lumaria drew near. What would they have in store this time?
Lumaria rose an eyebrow at Kuja as he spoke. His beauty must be shown off? He was rather full of himself, wasn't he? Either full of himself, driven well into insanity, or some combination of the two. Lumaria was willing to go with the last.
"It's Lumaria, now, Elaeus," Lumaria said, still mimicking Kuja's voice,"And I apologize for my long absence. But, I felt it necessary to make a few...adjustments. As for why I'm here, I caught wind of our new member here, and wanted to come see him for myself."
He gave a grin filled with sharp, pointed teeth that would have frozen the blood of any human who might have happened to see it.
Kuja smiled when he heard the praise from Lumaria. It seems that his talents have reached others in the XII, newly resurfaced ones too. He turned to Elaeus to tell him the other reason he brought him here,
”Elaeus, have you heard of a woman by the name of Jadis? She is actually quite the Witch. She can freely control ice just by will and…” Kuja let the word hang in the air to see if a remark or question would be made, but since none were he continued, ”She was able to freeze the heart of a giant Heartless I had to destroy. I thought it would be good to share this info. If she can freeze a heart, who knows what else she can do.”
Kuja remembered how he exactly met Jadis. He just came out of a dark portal he walked through in the desert in Agrabah and the citizens in Traverse Town were mocking him. She came out of nowhere and shooed them away, then he began to mock HER because she was acting arrogant to him and needed to be straightened out. But with a few words and a fight later she gave him valuable information and thus making him join the XII.

"I can somewhat see why she would do such thing, since the heartless you went after truly have nearly practically one lethal weakeness. Although, I see we may have competition of control of the heartless if she doing that. In the end, what are you implying Kuja?"
Elaeus wondered if Kuja was seaking out another recruit. Thus far the Heartless grew tired of recruitment, since he had higher priorities to fulfill. He haven't heard of many freezing a heart, a bundle of raw energy and memories, but if she was to be useful so be it. Every recruit are somewhat easily tamed, since majority are Heartless. The same can't be said for a witch. Ansem had experience with one, who deemed herself the Sorceress of All Evil. Maleficent was easily fooled with the greed of power. One can't be completely sure of the other.
Elaeus glanced at Lumaria with a snort, "I think you should be more concerned of your own position. Those who have shown immense absense and inactivity may be in high question, and that goes for everyone. I doubt Ansem would be pleased of it either."
"Is there anything else of importance you wanted to dicuss with me Kuja?"
Ienzo gave a smile and waved. "I am terribly sorry, but I must go. I am, at the moment, trying to score a date. This World is a little boring, and I have taken to sneaking into Radiant Garden. There is always something to do there." He grinned at Elaeus. "It's nice to sit back and eat ice cream... Hopefully I can find somebody else to eat it with." Of course nobody here could. Elaeus had work, and Lumaria had Ansem to deal with. He didn't know Kuja, so he didn't see them hanging out anytime soon...
He looked over to the new recruit and the creepy comrade and shrugged. "I guess we all have different schedules, so I suppose I'll head there alone. You guys have a good one..." He turned, but stopped. Looking to Lamuria, he gave a nod. "And be careful when talking to Ansem. He will be angry at your absence, comrade. His Darkness is much deeper than our own... His anger is ferocious, and can be quite easy to trigger at times." Those silver eyes... Sharp. Intelligent? If anything, they were clever. The black hair made his face as pale as the moon. "Remember that. We need your help."
With that, the Darkness engulfed him, and he shrank into his own shadow.
"I will be fine, Elaeus," Lumaria said to the Earth Titan, still using Kuja's voice,"I will explain to Master Ansem the reason for my absence. It was, afterall, in an effort to better and improve myself. I'm sure he will understand, especially when he sees how I can better serve the XII."
He turned to Ienzo as he started to leave and addressed him. He gave a small smile, just a little bit of his pointed teeth showing. It was charming how Ienzo seemed to show some concern over him. It was also, however, unnecessary.
"I will be fine," he said reassuringly to Ienzo,"Like I told Elaeus, I did it merely to improve myself so I could fulfill my duties much better. I will, however, keep in mind your warning to tread carefully where he is concerned. You do have a point: he is not someone to anger."
