In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Kyriu simply watched Limari's display of powers closely. Elementalist? That sounded familiar he most likely heard it from somewhere before, but that wasn't important right now. He was simply staring at Limari after her display and Kuri's reaction, he understood why she hid it..but that was it? Really? He expected her to spit out a frog, summon a shadow, or maybe even grow more hair.
This however was something Kyriu was quite used too, especially since he met several super powered people before..heck even V had some magic about her. So none of this was quite new to him, except for one thing. If Limari was an elemental...that meant a high level would be extremely powerful. He decided to sink back lower into the couch. Making her mad was a really bad idea, not to mention she still had that scary stick.
His thinking was disturbed when he heard the last thing Kuri said. '' Oh very funny Kuri....I didn't know I was a bodyguard'' Kyriu said responding to her comment. Though it got him thinking, it was something he found quite odd...most people that arrived here true had no powers..but they always had this spectacular talent...even if they didn't know it....however did he have any? At all?
'' Shessh, am I the only one in this place without any powers? Everyone who litterally pops up in this town always seem to have a few, oh oh...they have nice and interesting worlds too!! Thats so wierd!!'' Kyriu said.
Mari listened to the pair's responses carefully. this was amazing! they didnt seem to care at all! she was very grateful for thier understanding and acceptance. "so You dont find it wierd?" she asked, slightly retorically, "I'm so glad. i was really afriad you would rejec-" she stopped. this was too much emotion for her to let out. what was she doing? there was just something about these two which made her want to trust them, she didnt normally let anyone see her emotions.
She shifted her attention to what kuri was saying. she hated to hear her degrade herself like that, but she also didnt feel that it was her job to console and coddle kuri into feeling nice about herself. "I'm sure you're good at other things." she stated simply, hoping that was sufficent. she wasnt very good at this kind of emotional stuff.
she laughed a bit at Kuri's comment about Kyriu, and at Kyriu's reaction to that comment. she was glad the mood had been lightened, and started to relax a bit.
Kyriu's next comment did make her a little mad. though she also felt sorry that he didnt think he had any cool powers. "Powers are not just physical, Kyriu," she said. she really didnt like it when people thought that them having or not having powers was what made them "cool" it just made her sad, since she came from a world where if you had powers and werent one of the "cool" people, it meant death. "Magic isnt the only thing that makes a person strong or "cool", I'm sure you have lots of things which make you valueable." the last thing that he said, however, did irk her a bit. she didnt like him saying that everyone has "nice and interesting worlds". she felt the need to say something about it, because her world certainly wasnt "nice and interesting."
"I would also like to correct you on that last statement," she said to Kyriu, not letting any of her annoyance slip into her voice. she kept her tone pleasant and friendly because she didnt want a confrontation out of this, she just wanted to let him know he shouldn't say stuff like that, "My world wasnt nice and interesting, unless you count the genocide of 10's of thousands of people, the loss of family, and mass poverty and drought as interesting." she really didnt say this in a harsh way, but it did have a bit of a scolding tone to it. she smiled to let him know that she really wasnt mad at him.

( due to time.... hehe i acctually didn't read the post XD )
"Kyrii, you know I'm just playing." she said to his bodygaurd comment.
Lakuri was a bit confused When Limari seemed so surprised that they didn't mind her powers.... really they weren't anything extremly special... a lot of people had similar powers like that... So why was she so surprised!?
Lakuri simply smiled at Limari told her she was good at other things that was nice of her to say... although she was a bit surprised she didn't say more....
Lakuri then simply listened to what Limari said to Kyriu... she was a bit surprised at how.. mean sounding she was at Kyriu... she didn't really like that. Sure.. Kyriu did have some talents that he pperently didn't even know of... he was able to keep Lakuri accupied after all... that itself was an amazing feat...
Lakuri ws very surprised to hear about Limari's world however... it sounded... horrible! "I'm so sorry that that happened to you Limari..." she said, but she was still leaning on Kyriu.
Kyriu was quite aware of what Kuri was doing but was taken a back when he heard what Limari said. He didn't really mean it in that way, but he sorta took the hint. And of course didn't like what he said...so much for the light mood. But still he wasn't about to let the light go out just like that..he still had a plan...and he wasn't going to back down this time.
'' I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that....and um...'' Kyriu stopped and despite the fact that he wasn't supposed to move he had regained some of his energy...how wierd was that? One minute he felt dead...the next was almost as good as new....how was that possible?........oh who cares.
Kyiru simply tickled Kuri down her sides suddenly then made a quick roll over so he coulld flip himslef on his stomach without making Kuri fall. His hand was long enough for his plan to work anyway...even though it might have been a little bit odd...he was the host after all.
He used his left hand then held onto's Kuri's just so she wouldn't get any wrong Ideas...Then reached out..with a lot of effort and grabbed onto Limari's.
'' Ouch!!! backk!! anyway....I want you to know....that were your friends ok? There's no need for any sadness or anything...you've done so much for us and it woudl be nice if we could do things for you!! So...I would like it If you did become our friend....because we like you!!'' Kyriu said.
He gently nudged Kuri so she would speak up.
'' And...come on....you have to try at least one cookie...there nice I swear!!! I don't evenm have to get it.''
Mari was wondering why They both looked so solemn, although she always had had a talent for depressing people. she really hadn't meant what she said to Kyriu to get her any sort of pity, so she didnt really respond to Kuri's comment. she was about to say something else when Kyrius actions made her completely lose her train of thought.
He suddenly rolled from benaeath Kuri and grabbed onto both Mari and Kuri's hands. he started speaking about friendship, and while it was nice to know that they really did like her, something about the silly way he chose to execute this statement made her crack up. and when he added the part about the cookies she completely burst out laughing. She started laughing uncontrollably, falling off of her chair because she was laughing so hard. she couldnt remember when she had last laughed this hard, not in a very long time. she wasnt sure what about Kyriu was so funny, but he was being pretty hilarious right now. "heh, im sorry Kyriu...: she said beetween spurts of laughter, "i swear im grateful for what you just said, but....heheh...you really are quite funny right now." when she finally recovered she had an idea. maybe she could cook something for them if Kyriu wanted food so badly. it would be a good gesture of her appreciation, and she did love to cook.
"how about i cook us something to eat?" she said casually, "I really love to cook things, and it would be nice to have something routine to do after all of the wierdness that has happened lately."
she didnt really wait for a response, but instead walked to where kyriu had been heading when he wanted to get cookies. as she walked into the kitchen she satred at it blankly. it was the wierdest looking kitchen she had ever seen. her old world having been more primitive, she had never used anything to cook besides either a campfire or a woodstove. The first thing she noticed was that there wasn't a hole in the cieling for the smoke to go out of. now what good was that? then she saw why, there wasnt even a fir ring in this kitche much less a woodstove. how did they cook anything?!
she poked her head back into the living room curiously. "um," she said hesitantly "where is your campfire ring? how do you cook anything without a fire ring or a woodstove?" these people were becoming quite a mystery to her. did they just only eat things that didnt need to be cooked?

Being tickled... that was a big weaknesss for Lakuri and Kyriu knew it. As soon as he tickled her sides, of course he was free because Lakuri nearly tompled over. If it hadn't been for Kyriu holding her up.
This boy was getting more and more rediculous by the second... Now he was talking about friendship and being well... weird. but Kyriu nudged her so she had to say somthing. " Yes friendship and stuff... i'm sorry to not be as plainly enthusiastic as Kyriu is... but i'm more confused by him right now..." Lakuri said kinda embarassedly to Limari and then looked at Kyriu and was about to speak.... but then he brought up the cookies agian
This made Lakuri laugh as well. what was the big idea with Kyriu and cookies today? he was being suck a weirdo! "I love you Kyriu." she said while still trying to calm herself from laughing, by kissing his cheek. "you are being soooo weird." she said and then heard what Limari said about fod being routine.... if only she knew how it worked around here... then she wouldn't think that... neither Kuri or Kyriu ate very much.. and there was no routine to it.
Lakuri didn't really mind that Limari seemed to want to cook though... whatever... She took this time to mess with Kyriu a bit. She playfully wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss."This should be fun." she said and smiled at him. Then Lakuri heard Limari agian... what was she talking about a fire ring? "Uh.. Kyrii I think you best help her... you know my experiance with the kitchen...
Kyriu didn't say anything for quite some time, he was confused when Limari started laughing but even more confused when she asked him about the camp fire ring. This time it was his turn to start laughing. He understood what she was talking about but that just made it all more funny...it was just so silly!!!.
Once he was able to contain his laughter he did his best to clam down. He simply shook his head and lightly turned around so Kuri could fall back onto the couch without much harm. He simply stood up and poked her nose then walked over to Limari. In turn he just patted her on the head.
'' We don't use a camp fire miss Limari.'' Kyriu said then walked into the kitchen. '' One moment'' he said then leaned his head against the wall for a while. It seemed that he hadn't fully recovered from everything yet....ah well.
'' Ok so simply put...we can use a camp fire out side or we could use the stove...which is what I use. Is there anyone you would be more comforatble with miss Limari?'' Kyriu said still eying the stick on her back.
Somehow he always expected it to hit his head. Lastly he decided to do something random, silly...and just plain odd...but he didn't want Kuri to notice that he was stil tired.
He bent over so he could see past Limar and started waving his hand.
'' Hi !!!!!!! Kuri !!!!!!!!'' he said with a very silly looking smile on his face.
Mari was very confused about why Kuri and Kyriu were laughing at her. she wasn't aware that she had said anything all that funny. she tried not to be offended though, as she did realize that living on the streets had not really afforded her a good knowledge of how households in this world worked. "O-ven?" she said confusedly. "whats that? is that what you cook with? that would be fine, i like to learn new things, and i catch on quick." she thought for a moment then realized something, "I think that I will be more trouble if i cook than not, and i really dont want to be trouble. so please, if its going to to be trouble, be honest and tell me."
she rolled her eyes at the silly waving Kyriu was doing and as she did she noticed something on the ceiling. "uuuuum..." she said, "can i ask why thier are knives stuck in your cieling?" she glanced up at the assortment of kitchen knives stuck into the cieling, wondering what would posses someone to do that. these people just kept getting odder.

Lakuri simply laid on the couch to rest a bit, and alowwed for the two of them to talk... Lakuri really didn't know anything about the kitchen-ness things. She allowed her eyes to close and for her body to relax and simply wait to see what would be happening.
She was surprised when she heard her name. Lakuri looked up and saw Kyriu waveing at her with a rediculous look on his face. "Hi Kyriu." she rolled he eyes, and pretty much waved just her fingers at him, then turned over on the couch. In all honestly... for once Lakuri just didn't want to deal with Kyriu being a weirdo... That kind of stressed her out.. and she really just didn't want to deal with things right now. For once lakuri wanted to be by herself... if just for a little bit. This feeling was very very strange... and knowing she was haveing it didn't make her to happy... Lakuri turned over onto her back and placed her arm over her eyes... that made the feeling go away. Maybe I just need to go to bed... she thought then got up. She felt really dizzy when she was fully standing, ya sleep, good idea.
Lakuri walked into the kitchen where Limari and Kyriu where and shyly intrupted the two of them. " Sorry to interupt you guys, but I think I'm going to go to bed. I don't feel very good." she said but smiled at them before walking away to the bedroom, and closeing the door. Lakuri changed into her tank top, because it was a lot more comfortable and crawled into bed. she suddenly felt oddly cold, so she wrapped herself in several blankets and soon after fell asleep.
Things were getting stranger and stranger. First Limari had no idea what a stove or oven was...how odd. He wanted to fully explain everything to her first, after all she did deserve to know. Now he was about to say something else when Limari asked why the knifes were stuck in the celling...what a good question!. He was about to speak again, when Kuri decided to say something.
After hearing the word go to bed Kyriu just froze. He didn't move an inch until he was sure that Kuri was inside the room. Good now to help miss Limari. While he never had to do it since he arrived at traverse town...but it was usally something out of his control.
Whenever he was talking to a superior, his farther, or just studying Kyriu had a very odd personality compared to his usual one.
'' Come with me'' Kyriu said then without waiting for much of an answer he too Limari's hand and led her back into the kitchen. He quickly switched on the stove poured some water into a stove and sent in on the fire, then finally turned to Limari.
'' It works almost the same as firewood, just a little tricker. Any container you need for cooking is on the counter, and the ingredients are in the cuboard and the fridge, which is that big white thing with a door on it'' Kyriu said quickly the handed Limari a spoon.
'' Don't worry your not any trouble...give me a sec I'll be right back to help to you.'' Kyriu said then was about to leave then remembered something.
'' Oh and as for those...knives well...the only think I can Say is that Ryu is just crazy sometimes...he even at all the vegetables once'' Kyriu said then gave Limari a quick smlie and wave before heading towards the bedroom.
He slowly creeped in and walked over to the sleeping Kuri. Why was she asleep? That was odd. Anyway he first placed his hand on Kuri's head, and it wasn't hard for him to tell that she had a high fever...dart. he went to the bathroom, soaked a cloth then placed it on Kuri's head to help the fever a bit.
Then he walked right back out to the kitchen. '' Ok now we shall cook, but I have a question if I may miss Limari, do you know anything about high fevers?'' kyriu asked.
Unknown to him his eyes had switched to a dark grey color again....which was starting to happen frequently.
Mari watched Kuri walk to the dark room, wondering if there was ever a time when she wasnt sick with something. not to belittle the girls illness, but it just seemed like since the moment they met, there was always something ailing kuri. she wished she would feel better. maybe if she made something Kuri would like to eat she would feel better. but what would she like? based on mari's observations of the pink girl's personality, she probably had a sweet tooth. Mari knew how to make vanilla pudding, she would make that she decided. But first she would address the knives. she guessed the reason they were still there was because niether Kuri or Kyriu were tall enough to reach them. With her hieght she could reach them easily and started to pull them out one by one, placing them back in the knife block on the counter. once that was done she turned to the stove and measured the right amount of water into the pot sitting on the flame. the flame needed to be up a bit higher, but since she didnt know how to use the fancy knobs on it she just used her magic to make a bigger flame under the small silver pot.
She then looked at the cabinets. for pudding she would need sugar, gelatin powder, baking powder, and vanilla extract. with the practiced art of someone used to looking through things quickly (though before her motives were theft, not pudding) she rifled through al the cabinets taking everything out until she found what she wanted and then putting it all back exactly where she found it. as a thief it was a habit of hers to remeber the precise places of things so she could put them back without anyone ever knowing she was there.
by the time Kyriu came back in she was already measuring ingredients and puoring them into the pot with the now boiling water. she shook her head when he askied if he could help, "I'll be done cooking it in a few minutes, and then it will only need about ten minutes to cool in the refridgerator. Those, at least, I know a few things about." Fridges were alot like the ice boxes which she used to use to store meat and other things in Meright. "and as for fevers, I would say to keep a cool cloth on the back of her neck and her forehead, and wrap lots of blankets around her and make it as hot in the room as possible. that might sweat the fever out." she released her staff from the strap which held it on her back and swung it around to the front of her before leaning it and her bag against the counter to make herselof a bit more comfortable. she then turned back to her cooking pot to stir the solidifying pudding

(and now to screw with ur minds... GGGHHOOOSSTTTSSSS >: D )
Although Lakuri wasn't feeling to well, with the fever and all, she was sleeping quite nicely. However, her senses where toned dowb a lot by her sickness, and she had no even sleeping reaction to Kyriu's gestures to trying to make her feel better as she normally would have had. Because this was no normal time. Contraier to what most would think, Kuri acctually dosn't get sick all that often, with her white mage sttus and all, her body tends to heal itself with the lack of care she gives it... but being as she used a lot of power to heal Kyriu, it didn't leave enough engery for herself, and she started showing these sickness symtoms. Now this, would be all fine and great... She just needed rest, and possibly for Kyriu to take care of her a bit.. not that that was nesesary.. but it would make Kuri a little happier if he did. If, one odd thing haddn't happened. Lakuri started to have a very odd dream... about when she was twelve or so. One would thibk that this would be insegnifican, but a spesific memory caused the odd thing to happen.
While on their first outing, Lakuri had pointed out a stuffed dog to him that reminded her of a dog she used to know, and be friends with... when she was twelve. This dream she was haveing was as if she was reliveing that year or so, and naturally the dog was there.
What Lakuri didn't know, was somthing very creepy was happening in the real world. As she lay still in bed, fast asleep... a ghostly figure started to appear next to her. It was the shape of her dog friend and as time started to pass, it got clearer until it looked as if a simple see through dog was laying next to Kuri.
It soon stood up, and looked at her with concerd eyes and licked her face, as if being very worried, and trying to tell her to wake up. Lakuri had no reaction to this of course, aside from the fact that what as going on here... was also happening in her head.
If either Kyriu, or Limari would attempt to get to Kuri while this protective dog spirit was watching over her, it would imediatly start to growl or snap at the perseon, depending on there distance. The only way to get through would to somehow wake Lakuri.
( Since i know i'm scatterbrained tired bleh.. pretty much, The dog spirit of her past friend is watching over her because she's sick and it had always protected her while it was alive; and it is only brought on by Lakuri's dream. )
Kyriu simply blinked at everything. He was surprised at how quickly Limari was able to quickly adapt to the kitchen. That wasn't something he saw everyday...but neither was anything else that he saw. Anyway things were looking good in the kitchen...and now he knew what to do with Kuri's fever...that was nice! Ahem well he ought to get back now shouldn't he?
Without saying much Kyriu simply nodded at Limari and headed out to look after Kuri...even though he should be entertaining a guest....ugh..he would cross that bridge once he got to it.. For now all he had to do was go help kuri.
As soon as Kyriu entered the room he got a big shock. At first he didn't trust what he was seeing...but further inspection allowed him to remember something.............which freaked him out some more! What was a ghost dog doing here!!!!!!!!!!?
First a samurai...then a village girl...and now a dog....just...great!.
As Kyriu slowly tried to get to Kuri the dog seemed to start growling at him, which caused the poor boy to literally jump and hit the wall behind him.
'' Sheesh...why did have to pick this one anyway?....nice doggy good doggy..off the bed now...o-offy.'' Kyriu said then for some reason the dog looked at is it was about to start barking!
Kyriu quickly ran out and closed the door behind him...still quite shaken. He then did something quite silly.
He noticed pokey his stuffed giraffe on a table next to him.
'' Maybe pokey can do something.........no thats just silly...it's a g-ghost dog..not a stuffed animal''
Mari was just putting the pudding in the fridge to cool when she heard the bedroom door slam. she walked out into the hallway to see kyriu standing outside the closed door, looking terrified, and....talking to a stuffed giraffe? That boy just got weirder and weirder.
"Whats going on?" she asked, pretty much retorically, since she was already opening the door. she walked in to find kuri asleep on the bed next to a very hostile.....translucent dog? what the heck was going on with these people? as if they needed ghost dog added to Mari's mental list of oddities about them. the dog bared its teeth when Mari tried to get close to it, and barked ferociously when she reached out to touch Lakuri.
Mari wasn't generally afraid of dogs, but this one was a different story. could it hurt her? she didnt know much about ghosts. she decided to test this by reaching her hand out to it. it lashed at her, and she found out it could hurt her as her forearm started bleeding from the bite. maybe that wasnt the best way to discover that.....oh well, Mari thought, it wasn't that bad of a wound. as long as it didn't make her turn into a ghost herself or anything weird she would be fine.
She looked at the dog, deciding what would be the best way to get it away from Kuri. she needed to wake Kuri up. since the dog seemed to be there to protect her, maybe she would know how to get rid of it. she decided on a plan of action and executed it.
She spotted a sheet lying in the corner of the room and grabbed it, spreading it out and advancing towards the dog. In one swift move she lunged towards the dog, ignoring its sharp teeth and claws and threw the sheet over it, encasing it before tying the ends of the sheet together to make a bag to hold the dog in. the bag writhed, snarling noises coming from the dog trapped inside. Mari didn't know how long her trap would hold so she quickly strode over to Kuri and started shaking her. "Hey!" she said, "I don't mean to be rude, Lakuri, but theres a bit of a problem here which requires your advice."

This was a strange dream....
All of this seemed quite normal to her, as in Lakuri's head, this dream seemed very real.... It had been common when she was smaller to have this dog protecting her as she slept so no one would try to hurt her. And in return, Lakuri had loved that dog until it finally dissapeared on her. This same moment played out in her head.. although it was very strange, as dreams usually are. Lakuri saw someone, take a square of.. maybe, cloth? and throw it of the dog... who then was gone. "No! Don't take him away from me!" Lakuri whined in her sleep as she started to struggle agianst mari's shakeing a bit "Let go of me! leave me alone!" She said and acctually ended up shakeing herself awake. When this happened, the ghost dog in the sheet disapeared. Lakuri looked up very confusedly, and drowsily at Limari. "What's going on Limari?" She asked, looking around. Nothing her seemed out of the ordinary... exept for the bleeding marking on her arm. Lakuri tried to sit up, but she still felt a bit sick and simply laid still. "Limari do you want me to heal your arm?" she said and gave her a weak smile. Then Lakuri started to look around the room For Kyriu.
