In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Nala breathed slowly and silently, her bright green eyes never moving from the massive heard of wildebeest before her. Her heart was pounding so hard and fast that she was surprised it didn't burst from her chest. She was so close now... So close to catching her first meal of the day.
The hunt earlier that day had been a disaster. Usually her and Kiara, her daughter, made an excellent hunting team. But something seemed to be distracting Kiara this morning and she scared off more than she killed. Nala had sent her back home and decided to hunt by herself. Now was finally her chance. She had been watching the large hoofed animals from a tall patch of amber savannah grass for what seemed like hours.
She breathed again, stopping abruptly as some of the grasses tickled her nose. She was just about ready to strike...one animal was slowly moving closer to her...it would be any second now...
Suddenly a small bird flew down from a nearby tree and landed within a foot from Nala. Quickly realizing its mistake, the bird let out a loud alarming call and scrambled to fly away. Nala had lost her chance... The call from the bird had sent the wildebeest into a stampeding frenzy. She dashed from her cover as quickly as she could, but she was no match for the hoofed animal's speed and large horns. Not wanting to risk serious injury, Nala slowed down to a bouncing jog, trying to burn off her frustration.
The Hyenas left the elephant graveyard with some relief. The ambiance didn’t make up for the lack of food to be found. No wonder they hadn’t run into anyone. Nobody seemed to want to live there. Shenzi sniffed. Just as well. They’d be able to come back to their home when they wanted to without being bothered.
Just as they scrambled up to the savanna a wildebeest came charging directly at them. The three hyenas gaped, flinching, ready to dodge. and then focused, watching as the wildebeest swerved, its eyes rolling wildly as it tried to avoid slipping into the elephant graveyard and fell on its side, legs kicking wildly. As it let out a scream of terror, a panicked bleating call, the hyenas fell on it.
Shenzi went for the throat. Ed concentrated on the spine, gnawing until he’d gotten through the muscle and severed it and Banzai, always a little to focused on the end result instead of getting there, ripped into the stomach, not because he was making sure the beast was dead, just because he was hungry.
The hyenas ate, drenched in blood, the air perfumed with the coppery meaty smell. The two boys snarled at each other over various bits but they silently made way whenever Shenzi wanted to try a different piece of meat.
They tried, they really did but there just wasn’t enough stomach between them to eat the whole wildebeest in one go. Banzai and Ed tore off a leg and they dragged it away back into the elephant graveyard. It would make a good snack in a few days. The meat was even better fermented.
Yet another dark portal opened in the Pride Lands that day. Zexion exited the portal, glad to be away from those canine creatures. They were as annoying as Heartless, only smarter. Well, smarter was an overstatement. Perhaps... Well, they could think for themselves, so Zexion considered them semi-intelligent. The female, oddly, seemed to be the leader...
Looking around the Savannah he was on, he noticed a few trees here and there, as well as several animals grazing. It seemed that he was out of immediate danger, which he could live with. At least there were no Hyenas to bother him.
Taking several steps, he scurried up a tree in his meerkat form, and gazed over the tall grass, which was more like a bamboo forest to him. Not to far he saw what looked like a miniature mountain, with one side sliced off and fallen outward, propped up on a smaller rock. Around it were trees, and a multicolored mass, which Zexion assumed were mammals. Lucky him. He jumped down, and worked his way in that direction at a leisurely pace. There was no reason to rush, really. Well none but one.
Zexion was nearly trampled by a random wildebeest (as recognized from one of many books read by him), and was surprised when three unwelcome beasts showed up to eat it. He saw them consume it quickly and with a big mess, before dragging what was left into the Elephant Graveyard, which apparently happened to be nearby.
Running away from it without looking where he was going, Zexion rammed full speed into a large, orange, furry mass. He fell and was nearly stepped on before he could stand. Annoyed, he turned towards the lioness. "The creatures on this world seem to be less intelligent than the average Heartless," he said. With a look towards the Elephant Graveyard, he added: "Well, some more than others."
Nala turned her delicate head to look down at the strange colored meerkat at her feet. He looked like any other small, furry rodent except he had long blue fur growing out of his head. She narrowed her green eyes suspiciously at his presence but said nothing.
She had seen the hyenas from afar drag the wildebeest carcass to their burrow. Better they stay in the elephant graveyard then where they'd cause trouble. Hyenas were never welcomed in the Pride Lands.
Nala looked back at the shaken meerkat and decided to speak, "Heartless? There haven't been any Heartless in the Pride Lands for years...what are you talking about?"
(I think you both would benefit from re-reading my post.)
The hyenas had come back to the edge of the Pridelands. Banzai wanted to pick the carcass clean but they stopped in their tracks crouching low at the edge of the elephant graveyard when they all three smelled lion on the wind.
It was one they recognized. Nala. "Damn!" cursed Banzai and Shenzi shoved him."Be quiet!" They tilted their ears and in Ed's case, whole head and listened. There was another smell. Apparently the little annoyance of a meerkat was with the lioness.
Shenzi hoped he would cause her as much trouble as he had them. It would serve her right. She also hoped that Nala would lose patience and eat the little squeaker. She wasn't sure which she would like to see more.
Banzai popped his head up, intent on the carcass nearby and Shenzi shoved him down. Ed saw this and popped his head up, dancing around them. Banzai saw what Ed was doing and temporarily forgot the food, popping up from the grass. The two males popped up and then down up and then down. "La, la, la-
Banzai was cut off when Shenzi lept into the air and grabbed them both in a head lock pulling them too the ground back within the bounds of the elephant graveyard and silencing Banzai. She squeezed them until they were more pope eyed than usual and gasping for breath, and then let them go.
They fell to the ground gasping. Ed pushed himself half up with his usual goofy tongue lolling smile.
"What was that for?" asked Banzai reproachfully. He cowered when Shenzi got in really close, their noses nearly touching. "I said be quiet!"
She crept back up the the edge of the pride lands and peered through the grass at the tan figure. The lioness was fairly far away but hyena hearing was very good. The question was, was Lion hearing even half as good?
