In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Uhh...I don't think that's normal, to tell the truth.
As she leaned down and picked the boy up herself, she shook her head with a small chuckle. This time, when she walked through the door, she was able to get through just fine, and placed Kuu on the couch she normally liked to sit on, feeling his forehead and then poking him. ((Being Yuffie, she figured it would be effective.))
Then, with a thoughtful look, she stepped back a bit and pointed her hand at the boy, an aquamarine aura around her hand.
"May as well try this, I know for a fact that it worked with Cid..."
As she said that, a torrent of ice-cold water rained down on the boy, not to hurt him, but only to shock him awake. With a giggle, Yuffie watched what the effect of the spell would be.
If 'shocked' was to be looked up in Yuffie's imaginary picture dictionary, it could come up with a picture of Kuu, his eyes snapping open and a sharp yelp as he attempted to blink the water out of his vision, shake his head free of the water and attempt to work out if he'd died or not. However, it would be more likely for one searching for a similar picture in a sane person's collection of visualised vocabulary under words such as 'traumatised', 'violated' or 'debilitated', though the particular words Kuu almost shouted were slightly more concise and unable to be included in a PG-rated picture dictionary.
'Woman, what is your problem?!' he cried, trying to stop his voice from shivering with the rest of his toes. 'Are you out of your mind?!'
He picked at his wet clothes, scowling at both himself and the crazy ninja. 'Great, and I just got out the rain...' he muttered as he got to his feet and began walking away from them, promptly stripping his clothes off as he did so.
As he squeezed the water out of his hooded sleeveless jacket and took off his long-sleeved top, he continued muttering in brief intervals under his breath. 'This is going to take an age to dry. What kind of crazy person decides to chuck ice-cold water on a guy in this day and age? Someone needs to have a long talk with that ninja about her and her childhood...'
He was still muttering as his hands moved to take off his sodden trousers.

Kairi looked up at the ninja with speculation if she could be a qualifed judge in the determing what's normal or not. Still she somewhat agrees how odd it was, but not the extrema, since Kairi assumed he was tired from who knows what; she gave him the benefit of doubt. Before she can make a statement, Yuffie already hauled the boy up towards the couch leaving Kairi to follow suit.
Standing next to Yuffie, Kairi observed his face and features; assuming he may be drowsy and tired, she spoke lowly in a whisper to not wake him up. There was always time to talk to him whenever he woke up, "Hmm maybe we should let him sleep for a while."
Her little departure from the world has been postponed, but the Princess of Hearts wasn't complaining; it was worth it. Also the nuisance of loneliness edged away with a familiar face to gaze upon and eventually converse with.
"May as well try this, I know for a fact that it worked with Cid..."
"Hmm?" Blue was picked up in her peripheral vision, and alarmed the youth jumped back to see Yuffie's hand glowing, but she settled once knowing she casted a spell. But which one.
Uh-oh
"Umm, Yuffs, what spell is thaaat? I thought most healing spells were green or WHIIITE!," the gush of water demolished the peaceful warm air in the house and nearly made Kairi jump out of her skin. Her face was mortified seeing what Yuffie did, and she gawked at the giggle ninja as if she couldn't believe it. People always muttered that Yuffie was missing a few gears, but to have it be proven right infront of you was bewildering.
Kairi jumped again hearing Kuu's yelp, and she focus whipped to him staring in shock at him like a doe seeing headlights. She flinched at his shout at her first experience that she recalled of seeing him angry. The redhead silently and meekly took a step away from Yuffie for he won't get confused. Anxiety brought back an old habit of biting her lip as she try to find words to say to him; each time they die out into an exhale. The meek mouse watched him retreat and once his back was to them; she sharply elbowed Yuffie in the side before whispering; she didn't want to be loud enough to set him off again, "What was that for?! Now he's definately going to get sick...if he hadn't decided to leave alr-"
She pointed at Kuu for emphasism, but halted once noticing he was...stripping. Sure she was used to guys all bared chested on the beach and dropping pants that hid their trunks to go straight for the ocean. The key was...they're not on the beachm and he was going for the...
"Uuuh Kuu, Kuu ...Kuu" Kairi started with a small voice but had to repeat herself due to her lack of projection, "Umm there's a bathroom over there."
A finger pointed to the left side of the house towards a door.
"S-sorry! I just wanted to make sure you were okay, that's all!"
Another wave of her hand, this time with a red and blue aura, made a warm gust of wind dry Kuu entirely off, so he didn't have to strip in front of the ladies. Then with a blush, Yuffie turned away and hit her head with her palm, feeling like a total idiot for not thinking of the boy when she did that.
"Sorry about that, I just...
I have somewhere to be."
And with that, the ninja rushed out the door and jumped to the roof, sitting in her favorite spot and tucking her knees to her chest.
Kuu turned around to Kairi, one thumb hooked in the strap of his trousers. 'Bathroom? Wha- oh, right.'
Now it was his turn to blush. Since he'd never really spent enough time with ordinary people, he'd never had it drilled into his head to reflexively deal with the sociological aspects of taking your clothes off in front of girls. It was slowly beginning to dawn on him the awful embarrassment that was falling in the air between them with the awareness of the fact that he had nothing on from the waist up aside from his silver charm.
'Sorry, I'll just step in here,' he began-
"S-sorry! I just wanted to make sure you were okay, that's all!"
Before he could answer, she'd raised her hand and there was a gushing feeling as he felt the uncomfortable prickling sensation all over his body, as if the hairs on his skin were being set on fire. Kuu almost cried from the shock, but it was gone after a brief moment, and found that he and his clothes were now dry, though his silver hair seemed to have frazzled into a million split ends.
He looked back to the ninja. 'Hey, thank-'
But before he could make another sound, she'd made a rushed apology and disappeared out the door.
'...you,' he completed a little helplessly. 'Uhh... right.'
Kuu gave an exasperated sigh as he pulled his shirt back over his head. He just didn't get that girl. 'Man, what's her issue?' he asked Kairi. 'Does she always do stuff and disappear before anyone can get two words in?'
Although, I did get quite worked up. Maybe I shouldn't have shouted so loudly. No, wait - that was pretty stupid of her. Who pours water that temperature on a total stranger just to wake them up? Though... to be fair, call for a stupid reaction to a stupid situation - how many people just roll over sleeping randomly? And she did dry me up afterwards, though she almost burnt the hair off my body in the process. After all, she was trying to help, in her own way.
Kuu gave another sigh. 'Man, I just don't get girls...'

This is was just too much explosion one after the other for one day; Kairi was too spazzed to even respond to the newcoming warmth in the room as Yuffie attempted to dry Kuu. As quickly as everything blew over, Yuffie darted away.
"Yuffie, don't," the door slammed right behind her shutting out the noise of rain, "go..."
The princess was pulled to go after her...into the rain, but she was pinned by the new company she had, yet she didn't want the ninja to wallow in the rain only to get sick later on. Speaking of company, she glanced at him to deem him safe and fully clothed; sighing, she ran her fingers through her hair resisting the urge to tug a chunk out before flopping in the chair she once sat in.
"Mm, I haven't been around Yuffie a lot or for a long time, but you can say she have a unique way about things...very straight forward at times. Though I think this would be the first time...I've seen her take it close to heart." Her blue eyes drifted back to the door in concern for the young woman; sure Yuffie had a mind of her own and wasn't a child, but sometimes the line blurred and neither Leon or Merlin was around to fill in that authortive gap.
"Just don't hold it against her," Kairi started as she got up not being able to sit any longer without acting; if she at least told Yuffie to come back it, at least it was an attempt. Once at the door, she glanced back at Kuu, "...too roughly."
Sticking her head out the door, she ignored the drops of rain before yelling out in a general direction, "YUFFIE IF YOU CAN HEAR ME GET BACK IN HERE! YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE YOURSELF SICK, AND I'LL BE FORCE TO GIVE YOU NASTY MEDICINE!"
She glanced back at Kuu and shrugged doubting if the 'threat' would work, but to preserve heat, Kairi lightly closed the door, while keeping it unlocked, "She'll come back in...soon...I hope..."
"So," she perked changing the subject to cascade the awkward silence out, and flopped back in her chain, while sitting on one of her legs, "what about you? Where have you been all this time, and are you gonna doze off on me again? If you're tired you can rest and I can harass you later?"
If she was given a grade for being a homey hostess, the girl might rank at a C up to this point with the load of questions and unorthodox housemate, who was who knows where. She was already self-consciously fiddling and picking at her nails reflecting her own uncertainty. This was definately not an ideal reunion.
((I'm thinkin of making Kuu go find Yuffie and apologise in his next post, so that Chris isn't left out for too long, but it isn't like Kuu's blanking Kairi's questions ^^))
Kuu shrugged, his palms facing upward. 'Hey, it's not that I hold anything against her. After all, with all things considered, it wasn't malicious, just real stupid. I mean - ah, sorry. Not too roughly, got it.'
With a sigh, he allowed himself to fall to the floor, sitting comfortably in a cross-legged position on the carpet in front of Kairi's chair. 'As for what I've been doing - man... where do I start? It must've been two or three years now since we last saw each other. I've been around Radiant Garden for the past year or so, I've got a shop in the market square selling books and other curios. More than anything, it's just been a way to get by in terms of money and a place to stay, as well as a way of putting all the junk I picked up over the years to good use, I mean -'
Kuu stopped, as he realised what he was saying. He couldn't let anyone know he was a world-traveller. Even over here, travelling through worlds the way he did was rare, and the closest he had heard of his condition was these mysterious 'Corridors of Darkness', and from the way he heard their very infrequent mention, it wasn't without at least a small sense of disapproval.
His inexpressible relief at being able to see someone from one of the worlds of his past had loosened his hold on his tongue, and it was far too early for such leisure. As happy as he was to see her, Kairi wasn't as close a friend to him as he would have liked before freely telling her about his world-hopping abilities, which meant he couldn't tell her everything about what he'd been doing the past three years - or indeed, his whole life.
It would have to wait.
'So,' he said, coughing awkwardly. 'How did you get here? I didn't know that you could get off the Island, and it can't have been easy.'

Bright eyes blinked at him soaking up every detail of his story, the misadventure of Kuu's mysterious poofing. She mentally made notes of things like him being here for the past year; she wondered if Sora ever ran into him, since he was roaming the worlds then. The only worlds she had happened to venture to was Twilight Town and The World That Never Was. Still her mind buzzed about where was he before Radiant Garden, since this world wasn't always radiantly available or safe for people. Even to this day, she wasn't too comfortable stepping into Ansem's Castle; it just had enough unwanted memories and bad vibes.
Hearing him stopped her eyes widenned as if questioning if she didn't anything wrong. It was a random halt that concerned her as the concern to poke and probe increased. And before she knew it the spotlight shifted, and she was taken back to how to answer to the point of forgetting to inspect the other.
"Hm," she looked up at the cieling trying to gether her thoughts,"weeeeell I kinda hitched rides. You know by gummiships, and no it totally wasn't easy to go-"
unnoticed, without being caught, without telling Riku or Sora, she can feel the twinge of guilt. Looking back, she felt like she lied to them when they were basking on the beach as if all was normal, all was okay, and she was just content as the fishes in the sea. Even Riku had opened up to her indirectly about leaving the words, and she didn't even share her similar sentiments with him, but instead indirectly told him it was okay. Now that she thought about it she wondered who was she trying to convince more her or Riku?
"I've been on Traverse Town for a while where I found Merlin, who was willingly to teach me magick. I would've came here with him, but he can be the busy wizard, soooo I hitched a ride again," she laughed nervously, since it became a favorite unintentional pasttime for Kairi to place herself in unneccessary and unsafe scenarios including traveling with strangers, "they called themselves...vieras; they were like bunny people. Ever since they dropped me off and ran into Yuffie I've been here, but not for too long."
Kuu gave a small laugh. 'It seems like you've also been around quite a lot as well,' he chuckled. 'Though I haven't been able to go back to Destiny Islands for a while now. I wonder how everyone's been - they must have all left school by now...'
It was a rare occasion that Kuu allowed himself to reminisce about a world he had been to before. In every world he had led a different life, a different identity - it was almost as if each world he had travelled to had accommodated separate people, not just one Kuu. But of all the worlds he had been to, Destiny Islands was the one he missed the most, because it had been at that world that he had felt that he had been himself the most. That plain honesty with which he had lived his life, although it was inevitably built on a foundation of dishonesty to hide his past, had been an irreplaceably refreshing time for him.
A smile graced Kuu's lips as he recalled the memories he made there fondly. 'It seems such a long time ago, yet I remember everything like it was yesterday,' he mused. 'What a strange thing memories are.'
Memory.
Kuu's eyes glazed over for a moment and there was a rushing feeling, a tingling sensation that ran underneath his skin and was about to spiral off his tongue before he could control it, and his mind whited out -
'Hey,' Kuu said, as if nothing had happened, 'Do you think we ought to try and go find... what was her name, Yuffie? I still feel somewhat bad for going a little overboard on her. If she stays out in this weather for too long, it's not going to be too good for her health. She looks like the sort who catches colds for silly reasons.'

Kairi gave a small chuckle of her own, while thinking he had no idea how much she truly had traveled, and a bulk of it was technically outside of her own body. The roadbump and crazed adventure after that storm on the islands wasn't really an easy tale to break in, especially with a childhood acquaintance who she hadn't seen in years.
Actually she hardly talked about those times; even now she still had a small scar left. Even when the clouds grow dark she reflected back on the storm that brought on the heartless, destroying her world, and feeling cold and comatose. If she could define death that would be the closest experience to it. That's why she hardly strays to the play island during storms; somethings are better not revisiting and reliving.
Her eyes picked up when Kuu mentioned school, "Yep, everyone's out now; they're probably hanging out at the beaches, surfing, playing blitzball..."
Man she was missing the warm sun already. Yes, she was born in Radiant Garden and had a family there, but it was so distant and small. She still carried on the memory of her grandmother in her heart, but her heart truly tugged to the crashing waves and sandy beaches. The teen smiled to herself at the blissful memories, then looked to Kuu; through his eyes, she could tell he was missing it too.
"Maybeee you should visit the islands again...relive those memories again; I'm sure everyone would be excited to see you again," her optimism hushed down to a whisper as his face shifted. He looked out of it, which contributes more to his offness. It was as if something was disrupting is flow from randomly sleeping and spacing out, but she wasn't going to judge since they had years worth of distance between them. Her gut told her more went on those years, but it wasn't her place to shine the spotlight on it. It wasn't her story to tell and exploit.
"Hey," they both said in unison; he was changing the subject, while she was growing more concerned. Her eyes drifted to the door; she too wished that Yuffie wouldn't punish herself by staying out there, "yeah, my only concern is...does she wants to be found; she can be pretty evasive when she wants."
Getting up, she rummaged around the house to find a coat; she wasn't going to make herself prone to sickness, especially with the plans she had. The redhead stopped at the door where her umbrella leaned against the wall, "Well two pair of eyes are better than one, so we'll have a better chance."
With a wish, the umbrella opened within the house as the door creaked open, "Ready when you are."
Kuu followed Kairi to the door, deeming it safe to leave his books here for the time being. Before they stepped outside, Kuu slipped his fingers between Kairi's and eased the umbrella out of her hand. 'I'm taller than you, so there's no need for you to strain your arm holding it higher than you're used to,' he said seriously without a hint of irony. 'Besides, isn't the guy meant to hold it?'
With that, he stepped out into the rain, smiling a little as he heard the soft pitter patter of the raindrops drumming on the canvas of the umbrella. It wasn't raining as heavily as before, and the light beat the rain played above him was more relaxing than the more troublesome weather that had pestered him earlier. Taking care to walk at a pace Kairi could follow comfortably (her legs were shorter than his, after all) he stepped across the cobbles that made up the pathways running through Radiant Garden. His eyes swept across the surroundings, searching for signs of the ninja, though he knew it was hopeless - the rain washed away any traces, and no-one else was about because of the rain.
Kuu made a face caught between frustration and worry. 'You know Yuffie best - d'you know where she might've gone?'
((Sorry this was so late, my muse died briefly - though this ain't much better, my bad T_T))

"Okay Sir Chivarly," Kairi giggled as Kuu dominated her umbrella. For a particular reason it amused her as she let it be without any sense of retaliation; plus Kuu seemed rather adament, logic and all. Her hands found their way in her pockets to stay warm after she tugged her hood over head.
She would've called out for Yuffie, but despite how playful she could be, she wasn't a pet puppy who would happily trot back. No, she can be as complex as ever; this was a fine example of it and contrast difference from her peppy self. The simplistic pathway led them around buildings, which Kairi started to scan over. With the sky being as greyer as Yuffie, she didn't stood out like yellow paint. She wished Leon was about now; he would'v known Yuffie's tendecies better than her, since they been with one another for years.
"Ummm," Kairi started, "she have a thing for heights, and with being a ninja, she would pick high places...she would be able to see everything else. Given how she is, she wouldn't be near people...or so I think, but I hope she's not too upset enough to go towards the Maw."
The Maw was in the outskirts of the city, which led towards the Crystal Fissures and further down a cliff. The region was particularly one Kairi was 'banned' from, but being her, she had slipped there several times. She had her handful of heartless there, and Yuffie was far more experienced with them than she was. Still she wasn't going to leave that chance open. That portion of the world is outside of Tron's protection, so anything was plausible and possible there.
((Sorry for the late reply, have had uni applications getting in the way ))
Kuu closed his eyes briefly as he took in Kairi's information. The Maw would be troubling, but he guessed that people who were upset would avoid having to be active. From what he knew of Yuffie, her overactive happiness seemed a little too inexplicable for it to be written off as mere confidence or optimism - perhaps he was being too pragmatic, but he often found that the silver lining worked both ways, and that good things sometimes had a not-so-pleasant root. For Yuffie, maybe the exuberance she exhibited normally was a distraction from something far less simplistic in the deeper reaches of her persona. No, she would find a solitary place where she would not need to expend her energy into self-dissuasion.
But somewhere high seemed like a good place to start.
'Well, if it's heights you want, then I can do that,' he said as he stretched out his neck from side to side. 'Sorry, but I'm gonna have to ask you to hold the umbrella again. I hope you don't mind, but I think I'm better at moving around than you are, so I apologise in advance for any discomfort-'
Handing Kairi the umbrella, he gently lifted her off her feet in a bridal hold, and exhaled sharply as he leapt off the wet cobbles and into the dreary sky, protected from the rain by the umbrella held by Kairi. Having trained on the icy slopes of the Chinese mountains, Kuu had no trouble navigating the slippery tiles of the rooftops. Looking about as he launched himself from roof to roof, he tried to catch sight of the dark-haired ninja - but the colour of her attire didn't particularly help, and the rain wasn't making things any easier either.
She would most likely pick a place familiar to her... did she mention anything like that? The only place she ever mentioned was Merlin's hou - ah. Maybe the roof of...?
Kuu made an about turn on one foot, taking care not to throw Kairi off-balance, and began heading back towards Merlin's house. 'Maybe she was on the roof of the house all along,' he explained to her as he made his way to their previous location. He had just caught sight of a figure on the roof of the familiar building when suddenly, he felt an unearthly shiver trace its way down his spin as a black globe appeared in a surreal flash and from it emerged several writhing black creatures, their unsettling yellow gazes flickering from side to side.
The silver-haired swordsman let Kairi down and stepped in front of her, his sword drawn protectively before her. 'What in the -' he had time to utter before the creature leapt, and Kuu's blade flicked out, parrying its attack. However, it was merely knocked back, and was on its feet again, ready to strike once more.
Kuu's eyes narrowed. Physical attacks don't work, he thought. What are these things?
He sent a shiver of magic through his weapon. If normal attacks won't do, then maybe magic will...

Doe eyes blinked in confusion at Kuu as a brow perked skeptically. Seriously a few years ago she was helpless, but surely now she can go about just fine or so she liked to tell herself. Her nose wrinkled slightly, but then wondered perked as she grabbed her umbrella.
Discomfort of whaaaa, the pressure of the floor left her feet. She blinked, while her mind calculated at what just occured only to fill pressure against her umbrella as they rose upward on the roof. Not expecting being airbourne, her free hand latched onto Kuu's shirt and instinctively bit down on her lips surpressing squeal as the leap tickled her back. She held the umbrella up then looked down, then up at Kuu, then back down. WE'RE ON THE ROOF...we're on the roof...ooooh...yeeah maybe I couldn't do that. Alright alright focus...Yuffie Yuffie Yuffie not Yuffie bird not Yuffie.
"I don't see her anywhere." Apparently two pairs of eyes were like one when it was raining outside. The overcast hardly gave much lumination to pick the ninja up, and the rain was like a curtain blanketing distance in swift blurs. Kuu already turned back towards Merlin's house, but for a moment she stopped looking for Yuffie; she had felt something, "oh no..."
A black dome opened revealing a twitchy heartless. Her held breath exhaled calmly; it was only a shadow luckily, then one blossomed to more. "Are you serious?"
Why did they always had the most unwanted timing; feeling Kuu's arm shift, she streched her legs and stood where she was placed. He blocked her view of them, and she side stepped over to peer from around him as she made a head count of them. She was too focus to here him as a gleam of light shimmered in her left and right hand. Although her view was limited she could 'feel' their presence and general location.
Her eyes closed before inhaling deeply and muttered to herself, "don't fail me now."
