In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Kuu spun his sword around him, channeling his magic into the blade in preparation for his attack. In this situation, it would be better to break their formation (as loose as it was) and knock them off the roof, so that he could execute a Xuanzi Aerial maneuver. Slashing down, he released the Xuanfengjian, which collided with the roof and sent all of the creatures flying, one of them towards him. He seized it by the antenna and launched it into the air, before throwing himself to the side, slashing at one of the falling enemies. Kicking it off it as it disappeared in a oily puff of black smoke, he ascended higher and higher in that fashion, slashing at each individual target at an almost untraceable speed, until he was in line with the first of the creatures he had thrown into the air. Grabbing it once more, he allowed himself to fall to the ground in a corkscrew with its head first, and gave a satisfied smirk as it collided with the roof with a painful squelch, and promptly dissipated into nothingness.
He turned to see if there were any more he'd missed, and his heart fell with sickening speed as he saw more appear between Kairi and himself, and they were converging on her. She was holding some sort of weapon covered in flowers - perhaps a magic staff, although he'd never seen any like it before in his life. But even more worrying was the fact that it seemed to be attracting those creatures somehow, and despite his efficient hacking at the enemies between them, more seemed to appear. And then, with a sharp blade of panic into his gut, he saw one appear right behind her and reach out towards her, and he knew he wouldn't make it in time -
No. This won't do. Let's reconnect.
The descent of a haze in Kuu's mind, like a sudden fog, then a flash of... something. Something like a tear in the space between them, as if in that single line drawn across the air, the world failed to exist - the darkness disappears. And then in a space of time that would not have even spanned half a moment, he is there at a red-haired girl's side, and they are alone, with only the rain to disturb the silence. He leans over, and a whisper comes from his lips into her ear.
'Remember me...'
A name follows.
I am... just a memory.
Kuu blinked, staring at Kairi confusedly. 'Hey, you okay? Why'd you drop the umbrella? Sorry, if it's too awkward, I can try to hold it between my neck and shoulder -'
He gave a quizzical look at the peculiar-looking object in his friend's hand. She was holding some sort of weapon covered in flowers - perhaps a magic staff, although he'd never seen any like it before in his life. 'Hey, what's that you've got in your hand? Are you going to use it to help find Yuffie or something?'

Destiny’s Embrace, her own heartless lure and defense was light in her grip; Kuu maneuvered forward handling the heartless efficiently, which she wouldn’t expect less of him. Now in these times it seemed a norm to be around others who were swordsmanship savvy and can stand on their own two feet against the heartless.
It wasn’t until when peace resumed did Kairi started to feel damp and the weight of her blade. The heartless was gone, but there wasn’t a Yuffie insight. Looking up, her view was blocked with just Kuu, “It seems-“
He leaned in closer throwing her off and whispered softly. Her eyes widened a bit confused at first with the first two worlds. Why wouldn’t she? Why would she forget? Then the last tidbit glimmered in her ears like a holy bell. For a moment, even she dazed out of it pondering as if she was connecting the dots to an old puzzle.
It wasn’t until his clear voice called out to her questioningly when she perked up again to her usual self. Expressive cool toned eyes blinked up at him as the fog of oblivion cleared into awareness, “Huh? Oh, yeea I’m okay.”
When he mentioned the umbrella, she glanced down at the large yellow thing cascaded on the rooftop collecting rain; with heartless about, she practically forgot about it. On top of it, it wasn’t even hers to begin with, so she better keep up with it. Recollecting it, she shook the water off of it and hoisted it back up the air to cover them both, “No no no it’s not a problem at all. Come on, we still gotta look for Yuffie, and let’s find her before more show up.”
She was prompted to move onward, but she halted herself in mid stride as she stood on her toes, “Oh this, no it’s for the heartless…just in case they’re trying to be bold. Usually they don’t show up here so often, especially with Tron, a security program, protecting the town.”
Mmm more reasons to find Yuffie to see if he needs updates unless I'm the one giving them more reasons to come here…
((Guys, I'm really really confused - maybe it was because my post was really vague, sorry, it was the first one I've made in a while, so maybe I'm being weirder than usual with my writing, but Kuu took out all the Heartless already:
He leans over, and a whisper comes from his lips into her ear.
But it seems to have been ignored, as Kairi merely says that Kuu looked a little out of it. And then Yuffie at some point picks her up and Kuu is helped up or something (though he is never lying on the floor at any point), and then suddenly Kairi's heading back to Merlin's house at a leisurely pace... maybe I'm just being really slow, but I don't know how Yuffie's appearance, Kuu's trance, Kairi's return back to house and the whole battle thing (which I thought finished with mine and possibly referenced in Ellie's post) fits in chronologically - I'm just having a real tough time trying to imagine it happening in my head unless you ignore basically half of what I wrote in my post Tell me if I'm just having a moment or something ^^;)

D: Nuuuu dude I was tooootally confuzzeled in how to ...make sense out of the consecutive post, since there ._. was blargy wargy >.< conflicts with chronology XDD bwhahaha and I totally misinterpret some stuff >> I thought Kuu was having a @.@ 'moment'. I was even Pming Chris going WARG D: >> so yeah...you're not having a moment...weee just fawked up. CHRISTINAAA >> go punt your poooooost. << >> but since you're not heeeere and I'm like rp-seperation anxeity << >> *tempted to delete it to continuaaar*
((Okay... well then, I'll just carry on and re-introduce Chris with this post - if either of you see any problems with it, then just give me a shout.))
Kuu gazed at it inquisitively. 'So it is a weapon of some sort... hmm. How intriguing. I've never seen anything like it.'
Though I don't see why you needed to take it out, there's nothing out on the streets...
He filed away the information in his head anyway. Nothing such as useless knowledge. In any case, they needed to head back to Merlin's House - he had a strange hunch that Yuffie was there, and that she hadn't run off as far as they had thought. It had all proven to be a bit of a pointless gander around the town, though sometimes this wasn't bad - just strolling through the rain with a friend he hadn't seen in a long time.
But, first things first.
'Alright, I'm gonna have to carry you again - not that you can't walk, but I think I'm just a little faster than you and I reckon we'd both like to shave a few minutes off the time out here in the rain.'
With that, he very gently hoisted Kairi into his arms, and after making sure she was comfortable, he kicked off the wet roof and into the steel-grey sky. After only a few rooftops back towards where they had been about half an hour previously, he caught sight of a figure sitting on top of a familiar roof, her knees held tight up to her chest and her head down. Yuffie.
Kuu took one last leap and dropped down beside her. Although, now that he was here, he didn't know what to say. He was used to sorting out others' problems - he rarely had any of his own that he had to resolve. So all he came out with was eventually:
Yuffie was surprised the duo had found her, for she thought that their assumption would be that she ran farther away. But she was caught, and gave out a big sigh as she stood, looking down towards the ground in shame.
"S-sorry about that...I thought you were angry at me so I left. Wouldn't do to make a scene..."
Her face burned a cherry red, for she was truly ashamed of herself for being so ignorant and foolish. She considered running again, but knew that running from her problems would do nothing for her. Instead, she just faced towards the Crystal Ravines and sighed again, hands in her pockets. She was glad they found her now, because she could finally get out of the rain. She looked to Kairi and Kuu and said,
"Let's get back inside. We need to get out of this cold."

Humming in acknowledgement, she permitted him to pick her up again, and off they went to find a wet bundle sitting on the rooftop. She knew Yuffie can take things roughly, but she didn't expect her to be this deep in the dumps to sit like a comatosed doll in the rain. She was beyond soaked given the time she sat at here, and she didn't wore more than what she normally wear leaving her exposed to the cold.
Why do I feel like there's more to this? The other concerning question was: 'would she ever discover it?' She concluded a no when the ninja looked away in a gloomy shame. If anything she was far from the sharing mood. Atleast they were all on the same page about something, get back in the house. She would've returned Yuffie her umbrella, but she doubt it would be much help now if being soaked then was different from being soaked now.
Nodding at Yuffie, her eyes lifted up to look at Kuu as if he could read her mind for a moment. Something was wrong...truly wrong, but she couldn't pinpoint what is was. Prying would be an event for another day as the rain picked up with a thundering roll. Her posture tensed, and her once tightly closed eyes opened in a scowl; she loathed storms after that night; it was definatly time to go.
Kuu paused, not sure if he should just follow her lead and go inside, or say something else. It was one of the most basic (and therefore to him most detestable) errors to ask if someone was okay when they clearly weren't, and leaving things in the air with just those two words to justify himself were not sufficient. He suppressed an innate urge to sigh and roll his eyes at his own incompetence before placing a hand on Yuffie's shoulder before she stepped off the roof.
'Hey... look, what happened before - I'm sorry,' he said. 'I didn't mean to shout. It's not often that I get thrown off-guard like that and sometimes I'm not very good at reacting... well, you know. Ordinarily.'
Taking his hand off her drenched arm before it lingered into awkwardness, Kuu shoved it into his pocket for lack of a better thing to do with it. 'I've still got a lot to learn about easing into a lot of things. But I'm not angry. Just sometimes... people pretend to be ticked off so that they don't have to be embarrassed or shocked.'
Why am I addressing myself like I'm not one of those people? he wondered as he realised he was shifting from apologising mode to problem-solving mode.
'A-anyway, it was my bad. Just thought you should know.'
Just thought you should know?!
'...R-right, so er... come on, let's just get inside.'
And without looking back up at Yuffie, he slipped off the roof and opened the door to the old wizard's house, resisting the urge to deliberately not get out of the way of the security spell to save himself the trouble of slapping himself back into gear.
(( I believe this shall be Yuffie's last post in this thread. :3 ))
As she followed the other two in she slowly felt the heat flow through her body, glad to be out of the rain and into the warmth. A weak Fire spell helped her warm up a little, and she sat in the chair next to Cid's computers, wondering briefly where he had been all this time. However, her focus turned back to the other two, and she sighed, feeling her mood perk up a little bit. She fiddled around with her shiruken for a bit, then started to speak, but was interrupted by an alarm on the computer going off.
Damn it...can't I ever catch a break?
As she pressed a few of the keys, she opened the map of Radiant Garden and saw where the threat was. a look of confusion on her face.
The castle? I thought we had that place boarded up...guess I'll have to go check it out.
So, ,with a bit of a stretch, she stood up and put her shiruken on her back once more.
"Looks like I got some work to do at Ansem's Castle. I'll be back soon, but I have to go alone. Cid set up some security on the castle before he left, and I'm one of the few to have clearance."
Yeah...I'll let them think that. I just need some time alone, ,and this will be the perfect distraction.
So, ,with a small wave and a smile, she ran out the door, leaping from roof to roof towards the castle. Yes, this was her life.

( i did request ._. an edit >> to give more to ze Kuu...but I'm an impatient little Ellie.)
Stepping back into the dry house, she was fairly dry, but even a bit of dampness wouldn't bother her so much since her home was literally surrounded by water. Getting wet in that case was inevitable. Unfortunately she haven't gotten comfortable with storms; before she loved the sound and smell of it as it became quite therapeutic and meditating. Many of times she permitted the soft and loud pitter patters, the clash of thunder, and flash of lightening rock her to sleep like a babe; not just a sligth rumble was enough to put her on edge to find the closest shelter available.
Although she was in a house, Merlin's at that, which was magically guarded alongside Tron, her blues eyes couldn't help but trace the beams of the cieling as if waiting from something to cave in upon them and unleash its wrath. Her fingers twiddled with themselves to keep them busy as her mind raced on its own. She needed a distraction, "Anyone wants tea?"
...even if it was a mundane distraction...
Her pause was washed out by a loud siren alarm, and with Kairi's previous train of throught, she tensed and whipped her head at Yuffie with wide concerned eyes, "Yuffie, what is it?"
Her steps hurried behind her to peer over the ninja's shoulders towards the glowing screen, but the chair swerved as Yuffie stood, which caused the wielder to stumble back a bit to not crash into her. "The castle? B-b-but..."
A thunderous hum silenced her along with Yuffie's fast paced chattered. The teen could rebuttal before the ninja had slipped from her grasp. With a smile, a wave, and the slam of the door she was out of sight, and the red-head trotted towards the door after her, Yuffie WAIT!"
Opening the door, she was only answered by the chilling breeze brought by the rain that gathered in large puddles,"Be...careful...,"
For a moment, she swore she saw bulbous yellow eyes rippling from them. Squeezing her eyes shut, she scolded herself for overthinking things, and when she reopened them, she saw a shade wiggled from one puddle to another. She slammed the door once feeling that omnious chill down her spine.
Wiggling the handle, she made sure the door was closed all the way. Brushing her paranoia off, she turned to smile a Kuu softly, "She's quite persistent at times...even stubborn maybe. So still up for tea?"
Kuu often prided himself on being able to follow things quickly - he liked to think that there wasn't much the he missed in the way of things and that he grasped the entire situation efficiently and with relative ease. And the bizarre existence which Yuffie seemed to embody he quickly learned was one that laughed in the face of his (or indeed, anyone's) logic. As such, the speed with which she seemed to erase herself from the scene almost failed to surprise him as he realised that he didn't actually follow most what just had happened. She simply seemed to have excused herself with surreally swift and vaguely nonsensical diplomacy and had thus made her exit.
Kuu blinked, as if trying to clear his eyes of the residue madness they had been prey to over the past hours. '... I don't get her,' he stated simply, strangely (or not strangely?) without his usual shame in admitting his inability to understand something. Sometimes things were best just left alone, so that time could be invested in pursuit of knowledge of a more permanent nature.
He turned back to Kairi, pulling a face at her comment. Persistent and stubborn she may be, but she had bigger problems closer to home than those. But there was no point going on about it. Yuffie would be Yuffie, and quite frankly, he wasn't going to try to delve his hands into her particular mindscape.
'Thanks, tea would be great,' he said, gratefully sinking into the nearby armchair before immediately getting up again as he remembered his manners. 'Wait, I'll help make it.'
He headed towards the kitchen, vaguely wondering whether the kettle was electric.

She nodded at the request, then faced her next mission...finding all of those cups Merlin locked away. He had a peculiar way of living since the wizard was very old fashion and was more acquainted with magic than technology. At times the collaboration between the two didn't work well, so the wizard at times stuck to what he knew or was closer in convenience to him.
With that in mind, there tend to be empty dusty cubbards with a few spare plates here and there. The stove was so outdated a flame is needed within its chamber to use it properly. Luckily there were a few firewood left piled up by the door; since Merlin relied on magick he hardly went shopping to resupply them. A slim finger pointed towards the wood as Kairi informed Kuu of the inconvience, "I think you can say he's set in his ways, but it does gives more appreciation in simple things."
The simplistic teen shrugged before rummaging around Merlin's stacks of books in search for one thing in particular, his purse. Despite how small it was, it amazed the red-head that a house could pratically fit within it. Enough times Merlin had called out utensils from within the endless void of the man bag, but with the house being an unorganized mess and a laberynth of books, it made the search all the more difficult.
"Now where in the worlds did he put it?" It wasn't at the computer, near Pooh's book, or on the table. It wasn't until her foot brushed under the bed when Kairi heard a bunch of clanging of dishes, "found it! Now what is it doing under the bed of all places."
Lowering herself towards the floors, the redhead got on her knees to stick her hand underneath to grab it. As she handled the bag, she stiffened once hearing various collision of chinas sets. Now she was walking catiously with one hand on the strap, while the other cupped the bottom.
"I don't know why he's insistent in keeping so much stuff in here...I guess you would carry your house if you traveled a lot, " Kairi replied non-chalantly while opening the purse only for it to explode with dishes. The flowed and bumped into each other like a slithering snake before darting into magically opened cabinets, then clinked around until they were all neatly stacked.
"So you said you have a shop right? What's it called? Because I swore I would've bumped into you earlier if you're in the market."
Kuu smiled as Kairi pointed out the firewood - it gave him a strange sort of pleasure to be using wood of all things to make tea. It took him back to the time when he made tea in the Land of Dragons using a kettle hung above a fire, drinking from tiny clay cups. He lugged a few logs from the pile and carefully slid them into their place in the stove, whispering a swift Fire spell to light it. As he stoked it, he listened contentedly to Kairi's chatter in the background as she searched for the chinaware.
Once the fire seemed vaguely stable, he looked round to see Kairi with her entire arm's length into an old batter purse. Amazed at the sight of what appeared to be the disappearance of an entire limb, he figured that magic must have been applied to it to change the inner dimensions of the container. It was incredibly advanced magic, and Kuu couldn't even begin to imagine the complicated procedures involved in weaving such an intricate chain of spells. He couldn't resist another smile as he noted the concentration etched on Kairi's face as she rummaged about.
'I think... the longer you live, the more aware you become of loss,' he remarked. 'I'm sure that for him, all of these possessions are precious memories gathered across time.'
Once the chinaware had been extracted, he rustled through the various cabinets (feeling slightly guilty, as he didn't actually know this person, and looking round there things weren't exactly good manners) for anything that resembled tea which wasn't lethal at the same time, keeping an ear out for Kairi's conversation as he did so.
'Yeah, well... it's not really a shop. It's sort of hard to find if you don't need to find it. It's a kind of... exchange spot for things you don't usually trade. Mainly, I trade information and knowledge. You know, I teach people stuff like er... well, magic and combat and things, and they teach me stuff I don't know in return. This way, we both expand our minds and strengths.'
He picked out a tin of something that smelt roughly similar to tea leaves. 'Meh, this'll do. Now to put the kettle on...'

Hm?
For a moment the redhead thought she was reading to deep and over-thinking what he said. She shrugged it off finding it natural for him, Kuu, to feel even an ounce of loss from his departure of the Island, which still left a question of how and why. Now that she thought about it, she tried to remember if she even asked him that question already. With the Yuffie dilemna and search in the rain, she could hardly remember.
Why would she need to know about his whereabouts so many years ago? Was it closure to the unknown mystery that haunted those who knew of him or curiosity? Despite what answer she got, it's not like she knew him well to even tell him to go back, which would be hypocritical on her part. She hadn't plan to return to the islands; with the worlds calling her, who knew how long it would before she can truly return home. It took Sora and Riku a year or so.
Just shut up and enjoy the moment. She had to hush her thoughts for she wasn't too preoccupied to keep up with the current conversation. She did pick up the bits here and there, and her eyes brightened up when he mentioned magic.
"Hey maybe you can teach me a thing or two. I did came her to study under Merlin for a bit, but he's pretty...evasively busy," Kairi grabbed to kettle to fill it up with water. While it was slowly filling up, she peered into it to make sure it wasn't dusty. One might as well wash it to stay on the safe side,"...not that I blame him with the worlds being as they are."
After rinsing and refilling it, she handed the kettle over to Kuu, "Hmm or maybe I was meant to bump into you for a teacher."
Her nose wrinkled slightly with a chuckle, "Do I have to call you Master or Sensei Kuu then? Mm buuut I doubt I have anything to teach in return to be a proper traaade. Sure I can do some light magic, which is a natural thing for me, yet I think I'm an amaetur at it. And the other magic I know I can only tap into it with that 'sword' you saw earlier..."
It would seem pretty unbelievable to say that floral hunk of metal is a sword. Kairi til this day never grasped why it had flowers, but she just accepted that it reflected her. But why did it had to be flowers of all things?
Kuu took the kettle with a smile, and placed it atop the stove. Gently coaxing out an Aero spell, he kindled the flame, before taking a look inside the tin he had just removed from the cupboard. 'Looks Merlin's only got loose leaf - haha, he's old-school, alright,' he remarked with a chuckle. 'We're gonna need a teapot.'
He allowed his gaze to drift across the dusty shelves, his hands tracing the line of books, artifacts and other curios that filled them. As he did so, he thought about Kairi's question. Why would Kairi want to study magic? Sure, being able to defend yourself wasn't a bad thing in any way, especially in these times, but there was something odd about the question considering what little he could gather about her. She professed to know light magic, an art rare enough for him to wonder why she required tutoring in the magic arts when she was already using such an advanced element. She could summon a weapon at will, something which was again, incredibly rare, and judging from what she said about her sword arts, one that could channel and embody magical energy of some sort.
And the most disturbing thing was the fact that it was Kairi who was asking this. What he remembered of her was a friendly, bright girl who hated fighting, and yet she seemed to be reaching for the art of magic not for curiosity or for the pursuit of knowledge, but for something more unnerving considering the requester - the power to fight. Kuu knew he couldn't ask her directly. She had no incentive to tell him, and thus her natural reaction would be to speak evasively and without much conviction. But if her story were to be part of an exchange, then perhaps she would be more inclined to tell him the truth in its entirety.
'As for the magic...' he said carefully as his fingers found a teapot amongst the dust, '... I can certainly show you what I know. I can also help you learn how to apply them in combat with your weapon. We can discuss what you can offer as your exchange later.'
Kuu gave a laugh as he leant against the kitchen counter, waiting for the kettle to boil. 'And there's no need to call me master or anything. It's an exchange, and I'm no master, or your teacher. Always remember, I'm helping you teach yourself.'
