In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Atlantace nodded. "I am sorry to offend you, friend."
The serious look on his face turned to a small smile when Sir Lucas expressed his wishes to explore further. He had hoped that the other man would agree to exploring further, and was confident in their survival. Also, if they needed, they had a humongous friend a couple minutes away, one that could easily punch through the fragile castle walls and rescue them.
Closing his eyes for a minute, he contacted his partner. Ok. Bloodbane, we're going deeper into the depths of the castle, will you be able to come pull us out if we get stuck?
He didn't have to wait long for the answer. Of course, little brother. However, don't go sticking your head too far out... or you may find it bitten off. And don't have too much fun without me!
Nodding his head, Atlantace opened his eyes again, and looked at Sir Lucas. "Into the depths it is, then."
Walking over toward an unlit torch on the wall, Atlantace grabbed it and tossed it to Sir Lucas, grabbing another soon after for himself. "These will probably be a necessity, but hopefully we will not be needing them right away. They also make a crude, flaming weapon of sorts..."
Atlantace walked back over to the Wolf Knight. "All right. Let us keep the light in our hearts as we descend into darkness!"
After he said this, and made sure his Ranseur was securely attached to his back, Atlantace started towards the gaping maw. In his head,he was very glad there was someone to watch his back.
Sir Lucas didn't reply with a single word. He silently nodded his head while accepting the torch from Atlantace. He had come here to find a way to save his home world from the invading Heartless. So he would stop at nothing to accomplish his goal. If this castle held the key in their creation, it must also hold the key to their end. The key he was send out to find.
Cautiously the Wolf Knight followed Atlantace deeper into the depths of the castle. Keeping a few passes so that the dragon knight had full freedom of movement but was still close enough to rush to his aid when needed. An eerie absent of sound started to weight down heavily on the two venturing knights. The abandoned corridors and increasingly darkening hallways were emanating a strong feeling of solitude and loneliness. If felt as if both were heading underground as windows grew scarce and light was failing them. The very architecture and building was also slowly morphing. From a majestic castle above ground. To a more industrial and modern facility below. As technology was appearing more frequent in the lower reaches of Ansem's castle. All of them confusing and baffling the unknowing medieval knight more and more.
The journey halted at a grey hallway that was still only barely lit from light coming from the staircase behind them. Only their contours and reflections of their platemail armors could be determined in the darkness. In front of them was a large metal door. It had no hand knobs or other way to physically open them. There were broken buttons at the side of it and a snapped off power line running above it. This mechanical door was out of power and could not be opened by hand.
Atlantace had delved deep into thought as they walked down the corridor. on the map, this hallway had lead to some kind of shaft that connected to all of the floors beneath them, but it hadn't looked like there were stairs. Atlantace surmised that there would be some kind of lift involved, similar to a servant's dumbwaiter.
As they neared the end of the hall, Atlantace attempted to examine the walls and objects before them, but the oppressive darkness did not allow the faint light reflecting off of their armor to illuminate anything. Pulling out his torch, Atlantace whispered; "Burn brightly" and commanded the magic to form in his hand, producing a small flame. He brought the torch to the flame, lighting it, and melting the oppressive darkness away.
Atlantace looked at the metal door before them and sighed heavily. "now how on earth are we supposed to go through this? It seems to be the only way to continue..."
As he spoke, he got an idea. "Actually, it looks like that cable there-" he pointed to the objects as he continued; "brought some kind of energy to this apparatus... which was controlled by these two buttons here. But what are these triangular shapes on the buttons?"
Atlantace shook his head; he had never seen such an apparatus, but he could tell that the thick cable above them was used for electricity. He turned to Sir Lucas; but he didnt know if the man would be able to aide him.. "Sir. Lucas, I am going to send a bolt of lightning into this cable, and see what happens. Stand back, because it could very well jump out, or explode. I have no clue."
As he spoke, Atlantace gathered his magic again. "Crackle, lightning. Give this a shock!" As he summoned the electricity, he directed it all toward the broken wires, so that an equal amount would go in either direction, and hoped that he wouldn't just get a large explosion.
Sir Lucas took a few steps back, sensing the insecurity in Atlantace's voice. Before the bolt was unleashed he commented: "Pray thou knows what thou are doing."
Eventhough the Wolf Knight knew what was coming and was prepared. The sudden jolt of elektricity shooting from Atlantace to the cables still startled him. Beguiled he watched how the dragon knight effortlessly commanded the forces of nature like a magician. The dark room lighted up in flashes of blinding white. Shadows flickering all over the place as the chirping sound of the lightning arced from Atlantace over to the power cables.
The current flew through the system and many sparks erupted form the cables and the door. A charge was building as the apparatus was fed again. The triangular shapes on the buttoms started to glow. Softly at first but continously brighter. The energy builded and builded untill it seemed to reach critical mass and then...
*DING*
A bell sounded, as the large metallic door slided open by their own power and revealed a small room behind them. A room with no windows or further doorways. The lights shone a sterile light in this grey enviroment. wich stood in contrast to the warm red castlewalls above them.
The silence returned, except for a soft humming coming from the elevator. Buzzing in a monotome fashion like a bee or insect. Curious, Sir Lucas ventured forth. Stepping inside of the boxed room and gazed round. Turning to the Atlantace he spoke: "We are tricked, this hallway leads to naught, a dead end. I can not see any further passageway, less it's hidden." The entire concept of an elevator was alien to the medieval knight.
Atlantace's first reaction was to be disappointed. He opened his mouth to tell Sir Lucas that they'd have to find another way when the buttons began to glow, and the whole shaft hummed with power. As the metal doors slid open, Atlantace watched the Wolf Knight enter and was dismayed.
"Really? Damn. I thought there'd be some kind of passage or something..." Atlantace entered the metal room, examining the walls, floor, and ceiling. On one wall, nearest to the doors, there was several buttons. The buttons were faded and worn, and most of them were smashed. However, there were four still in working condition, and out of curiosity, Atlantace examined them.
Of the four, only two still held legible labels. Atlantace read them aloud; “Let’s see here… we have a red button, a blue button, one that says Ground, and then one that reads Bottom. Huh, strange names for an equally strange room.”
Atlantace pulled out the map, tracing the route they had taken. “It would also seem that in order to get to where we want to go, we need to go down to the bottom of the castle…”
Atlantace’s voice trailed off, and he looked between the buttons on the wall and the map he held in his hands. “I wonder… what will happen… if I press this one?” Atlantace’s finger hovered over pushing the button labeled Bottom. “Sir Lucas, I think the passageway further will be opened with these buttons. I do not know what will happen, but I suspect we will be transported in some way, to a different place. Brace yourself!”
As he finished speaking, he pressed the button. Nothing happened. Atlantace sighed, turning to Sir Lucas. “Well, never mi-“ As he was speaking, the doors slid shut. There were three loud clicking noises, accompanied by a louder buzzing sound that persisted as the whole room shook violently. “We’re moving… for better or for worse!”
Little did Atlantace know, but he was absolutely correct. The button he had pressed was the express button to the main Laboratory- 10 floors below. ((if that's ok with you. I can change it to be the floor above the lab or something like that, but I figured that this way it'd be easier))
With a minor jolt the room in which they stood started to move. They were descending, of this the Wolf Knight was certain. It was strange because except for the feeling, there was no indication or proof of this matter. No windows to show the outside world or mechanism present. Only the feeling of movement and the noise. Sir Lucas felt trapped in this confined space. A bad feeling overtook him. Suspicious he switched his burning torch to his left hand and drew his longsword with his right.
The bad feeling that Sir Lucas felt must have been an omen, for nearly instantly after the sword was drawn from the scabbard, the elevator stopped abruptly. The lights started to flicker. Sputtering in trying to stay lit. An ominous sound of stretching metal and trembling cables could be heard coming from above and around them. Happening right on the other side of the walls of this bizarre moving room. Then the room trembled as it dropped for a meter. Unbalancing the two knights inside. Grinding to a stop again with a high screeching sound.
Sir Lucas turned his wolf head shaped helmet to face Atlantace. Even though his face was covered by the black visor, it was no hard guess what his expression would be. Fearing the worst. Then another loud breaking noise and the elevator started to descent rapidly. A terrible noise overwhelmed them. Increasing in strength as the strange sensation they experienced grew more and more intense. Growing so loud that even screams could be heard over it. Both occupants felt close to being weightless. As if they were pushed up by some unseen force that wished for them to fly and remain from the ground. The room was moving again, much faster then before. ... It was falling.
Dropping down on his hands, Sir Lucas braced himself before lunging at the door with a scream. In a fluïd motion he stabbed the tip of the longsword in between the two sliding doors and started to pry them open. Using the sword as a lever to gain a few centimeters. With protests, the metallic sliding doors yielded to him and opened slowly. The Wolf Knight grabbed his panel with his gauntlet while placing his foot against the other panel. Straining himself to widen the opening. Gritting his teeth and growling as he used all his strength in accomplishing this.
Beyond it, a fast moving wall could be seen. Increasingly skimming by upward like a murderous sand belt. Sir Lucas looked in horror, he had hoped that the hallway would still be there. With this being the only door, there was no escape. All things that fall must hit the ground at some point. The longer it takes, the less chance of survival there would be.
Then the wall disappeared as the elevator shaft opened up to a large room. Falling along the far wall, a view in the dark could be made out. Rows and rows of pods were displayed before them. Stacked upon each other in orderly rows that seem to go on forever. The far wall of this grand room could not be seen. The ground however, came into view at an alarming rate. Sir Lucas looked at Atlantace one more time to see what he was going to do. But for him the choice was made. Right before the elevator would smash unto lowest level, he would jump out. Not relying on the structural strength of this metallic box. Hoping he could land into something that would break his fall.
With his last strength, Sir Lucas tried to keep the door open as much as possible to grant them both the best chance of escape. And pushed himself threw before the elevator reached it's final destination. The flight was short. Trusting in the Lunar Goddess Sir Lucas felt himself being smacked hard onto something. Everything tumbled and spun around while an ear shattering cacophony numbed his senses. Then darkness and silence took him. So suddenly as if somebody had flipped a switch.
Atlantace was uneasy. He knew what the room's purpose was, but he still wasn't comfortable with it. He turned to say something Sir Lucas, when the knight drew his weapon. At first, Atlantace made a confused sound, and then the screeching of metal and the snapping of cables made him draw his own weapon.
The sensation of weightlessness wasn't a new phenomena for Atlantace; his jumping abilities often caused him to float weightlessly off the ground. However, he wasn't too comfortable with what would happen as the metal box hit the ground- and they were travelling fast. he knew what happened when he hit the ground from one of his jumps, but he was willing to assume that the room they were in would not have the same kind of protective enchantments to prevent damage to whatever was inside of it, and rushed to aid the Wolf knight in his attempt at opening the door.
The door opened, and when the wall gave way to an open room, Sir Lucas jumped out. Atlantace quickly jumped out as well, and had enough distance to use his jumping ability. He landed hard, creating a crater around his feet, and then dropped to his knees. He supported himself with the Ranseur, which was about a foot into the ground beneath the crater, and was breathing hard. His attention was caught by two crashes: the first was from the thankfully empty elevator, with a crash as loud as an explosion. Then came the sound of Sir Lucas, falling through several pieces of equipment, and then hitting the floor hard as well.
Atlantace, leaning heavily on his weapon, tried to stand, only to fall down onto numbed legs. He looked over at Sir Lucas, and the image swam in his vision, accompanied by a massive headache. Closing his eyes and pulling himself into a sitting position, Atlantace exhaled heavily, and grogiily tried to speak to the wolf knight. "Sir Lucas... are you... ok?"
Atlantace closed his eyes, rubbing his temples. Slowly, the dense fog that was surrounding his brain began to lift. His legs, starting from his thighs, regained feeling as well, slowly. Luckily, their crazy descent hadn't attracted the notice of anything or anyone... yet. Bloodbane... I'm ok. But I think we destroyed our way back up to the surface... When I can see straight again, I'll check out the map and let you know.
Be careful down there!
Atlantace opened his eyes, and looked around again, slowly. His head still throbbed, and he did a quick body check to see if he had broken anything. Thankfully, because of the nature of his armor and the many jumps he uses in monster hunting, he hadn't broken anything. He slowly stood up, and after a couple of minutes, he shambled over to Sir Lucas, whom was covered in debris. he doesn't look so good...
Atlantace called upon his magic, Cura. He knew it wasn't going to help if Sir Lucas was dead, but he focused his will into summoning the green magic, and his hand glowed as he focused it. "Cura, Heal!" the green glow began to spread from his hand to the other Knight, where it covered his body. At the same time, some of the healing energies went into Atlantace, fixing the ringing in his ears, getting rid of the headache, completely lifting the fog around his head, and making his legs regain all of their feeling.
He stood up and stretched his body, very glad that he took the time to learn such magic. He hadn't ever thought it would come in handy, back when he first learned Cure. His attention was drawn back to the present, where he observed the situation that they had, literally, landed in.
The pods that lined the ceiling and walls seemed to be empty; in fact, many were broken. However, a few seemed to still be working, and pulsed with an ethereal blue light. Atlantace stretched again, and moved to provide the Wolf Knight assistance to get up, if it was needed.
"... We lose more ground each day, it is hopeless..."
"... I am your father and I forbid you to go!..."
... You must find the key..."
Sir Lucas awoken slowly, as if being pulled out of a deep sleep. But it weren't dreams that tried to cling on to his mind, preventing him from awakening, but his own subconsciousness. Dazed and desoriënted the Wolf Knight righted himself until he sat up. Taking in his surroundings. By seeing Atlantace he remembered again where they were. And by seeing the pile of debris and destruction he was lying in he also remembered what just had happened. The metal gauntlets slowly took off the helmet of as the knight's head emerged again.
Still sitting on the ground, Sir Lucas looked at Atlantace with his pale complexion. His wood brown eyes slightly obscured by his black locks. A soft snapping sound could be heard as a piece of the helmet fell off. He looked at it, seeing that one of the extends on top that looked like wolf ears had broken off. In fact, his armor was now showing many signs of severe impacts and cracks. Little tidbits had crusted off and new dents were making the armor uncomfortable. Seeing the damage, Sir Lucas noticed how he felt remarkable fine and healthy. To healthy for somebody who desperately leaped out of a crashing elevator. Still, Atlantace's presence had already explained how this came to be.
Still sitting down the knight stared out in front of him. With a voice that betrayed sadness he said: " Thou have used thy powers again to rejuvenate me, have thee not?... Thou are truly a powerful and remarkable knight, Sir Atlantace..." Sir Lucas reminisced about Atlantace's his other abilities that he had demonstrated so far. His lips curled into a more pouting one as he said grim. "...And yet despite all your abilities, thou were not able to save your home world of the Heartless. I'm beginning to fear that here is no hope left for mine."
Atlantace sighed with relief as the wolf knight came to. at least he isn't dead...
The dragon knight squatted next to Sir Lucas, with his hands clasped together. "heh... thanks. I have been around for a long time... even if I do not look like it. I was born more than forty years ago, on my home world. Thanks to Bloodbane, my dragon-bond, my body's aging processes slowed considerably. Also, my home world was high in magical energy, and many of the people that lived there were able to utilize magic to their own will. I did not go to such lengths until it was introduced to me by Bloodbane, but it wasn't until I left my world that I truly started to develop the skills, as I quickly learned their value."
Atlantace sighed. "And yes, I was unable to save my home world; but, there is more than one reason for that. First, my world was taken by surprise. Before me, even the best men I commanded fell." Atlantace closed his eyes, shaking his head. He paused for a moment, before continuing on. "However, we had no clue as to what our enemy was. I had fought countless wars alongside my King, and advised him in many matters. Our toughest battle, before the heartless, was against this evil summoner, who created a machine that summoned immense beasts. However, these creatures had no intelligence other than his, so they were easier to combat. The heartless..."
Atlantace trailed off, and took a deep breath, looking around them. Though there were numerous computer displays; most were broken or blank, a few were sparking. "There is still hope, however. As I traveled, I learned that there were ways to protect and even restore worlds, but it requires a Mighty weapon, one known as the Keyblade." Atlantace rocked back on his heels, into a sitting position, and continued. "However, try as I might, no such weapon have I found. Apparently, there are a few 'chosen' wielders floating about the galaxy, but they haven't been heard from in a while. Many people think they disappeared."
Atlantace looked at Sir Lucas. "However, The heartless fear holy light as well. If your world's people have the blessing of your goddess, they stand a chance. As for the heartless, well... The true moment of their victory is when all hope is lost."
After Atlantace finished speaking, there was a soft beeping sound, coming from one of the blank computer displays. The screen flickered on, projecting a holographic image of a man with short blond hair and a blond goatee. A voice crackled from the display, and Atlantace sprang to his feet, grabbing his weapon.
Relaxing as he realized that it was just a recording, Atlantace kept a weary eye on it, and walked over toward it. As he came within an arm's length of the hologram, the voice began to speak again.
" My efforts these many years have come to fruition, with the world I govern having become a paradise worthy of being called "Radiant Garden." Nurtured by the pure water that is the source of life, fragrant flowers bloom in abundance, and the people face each day with hopeful smiles. But where there is light, darkness also lurks. As noted in my earlier reports, I must solve the mystery of this "darkness of the heart." This paradise depends on it. I shall perform an experiment to probe the depths of a person's heart. One of my own apprentices, Xehanort, has volunteered to be a subject. The young man has served me ever since I nursed him back from death's door some years ago. He had lost all his memories at the time, but later showed remarkable intellectual curiosity and readily absorbed my teachings, gaining deep wisdom. Any mental immaturity is surely due to his young age. If I explore Xehanort's heart with psychological tests, I may be able to recall the past locked away within. My apprentice Even has also shown great interest in Xehanort's memories. But is he really the right subject? Xehanort does indeed exhibit extraordinary talents... Too extraordinary... Perhaps they are even superhuman."
The voice trailed off, and the display froze, flickered in and out of existence, and then cut out.
Looking at the Wolf knight, Atlantace was confused. "What in the name of..."
He looked back at the computer display, where the words 'enter password' were blinking on the otherwise blank screen. "come and look at this..."
Sir Lucas remained sitting there, staring blankly out in front of him. The words of Atlantace were not being registered by the Wolf Knight. Haunting visions of the doom of his home were terrorizing his mind, as guilt about leaving started to creep up him.
As suddenly the hologram appeared, Sir Lucas to jumped up from his feet and unsheathed his sword. Staring with bewildered eyes at the transparent image. Exclaiming: "By the Lunar Goddess! It's a ghost! A tormented soul come to haunt us into madness." But then as the automatic recording started to play, the Wolf Knight's fears turned into confusion. Curiosity was perked as ghosts often were echo's of the past. Atlantace seemed to be less afraid of the phantom appearance. But Lucas kept his distance.
Still as Atlantace called him over, Sir Lucas avoided the spot where the hologram had stood with an arc while uneasily joining him at the screen. Seeing the flickering display his eyes stalled on it while he mumbled: "I've never seen such magic craft before. Moving and glowing paintings acting like veils of divination." Lucas his eyes shifted back at the surroundings, while remaining nervous he asked: "Must we dally in this forsaken place? We still must secure our path out of this dungeon or forever be trapped here."
Atlantace was filled with curiosity; some said it would get the better of him someday. Well, not today. They needed to get out of this area. It was strange- an oppressive feeling started to creep up Atlantace's spine as Sir Lucas spoke of being trapped. "Well, my friend. I know one thing for sure: That we just saw was not a ghost, but almost a diary."
Atlantace shook his head. "I have no clue what it is, or what it was intended for, but I do agree with you; Let's get out of here."
The dragon knight pulled the map out again, quickly finding their location. "Ok, so let's see... if that was that strange metal box transport... and then all we have are three options. It looks like we can either go all the way across and take the stairs up... or we can climb that shaft from the metal box, Or, it looks like there might be a small exit over there." Atlantace pointed to their left diagonally, and looked up. Twelve feet into the air was a broken, twisted upper half of a metal staircase, leading to a small landing that had a door. Under the door seeped a few tendrils of the descending sunset. Bloodbane... we're going to go out of a side door. North Eastern side of the lower levels. Can you be there?
Yes. I'll be there within five minutes, but I won't be able to find you until you appear on the outside.
Looking to the wolf knight, Atlantace nodded in the direction of the broken staircase. "That looks like the easiest and quickest way out. Once outside that door, My companion will be picking us up, and we'll go into the town. OK?"
Without waiting for an answer, Atlantace walked over to the staircase. He was dismayed- the jump wouldn't be too much of a stretch if he had been alone. but the only problem lies in getting Sir Lucas up to a height that is greater than his and mine combined...
"Do you have any line? or do you see anything that could be used as line? we're going to need to climb up to the level of the staircase here." Atlantace called to the Wolf knight, looking around as for something useful at the same time.
Sir Lucas looked up at the way out. Seeing the predicament it poses. He knew that Atlantace could make it up so high without much problems. He had seen him do such leaps during combat. But he himself did not posses such an extraordinary feat. At Atlantace request, the Wolf Knight started to search for a cord of sort. Also keeping an eye out for alternatives.
Taking in the state of the disused laboratory, his eye fell on some of the larger objects stationed here. Equipment that was used for study and experiments. Another idea sprouted in Sir Lucas his mind as he suggested a different solution. "Atlantace, perhaps we can move some of these large objects underneath and construct a staircase of sorts to climb up. "
While offering it, Sir Lucas already started to grab hold of one of the larger desks and started to push it toward the staircase. The large, sturdy furniture scraping over the ground as it's sound echoëd through the large room. Slowly a solid and climbable pile of laboratory utilities grew beneath the raised platform that was their target.
Atlantace nodded, agreeing with Sir Lucas's idea. He changed his searching for cord to searching for things that would stack up and make a climbable structure.
Hefting a desk and bringing it over to the landing, he dropped it on top of the small pile. As he brought furniture over from the rest of the room, he managed to push a large desk over to the pile, orienting the legs in a way that allowed them to be climbed without too much difficulty.
Bloodbane, we'll be out of here soon. You ready to pick us up?
Yes, little one. I'll be waiting.
Atlantace, as he was scouting for another suitable desk, called over to the Wolf Knight. "Sir Lucas, have you ever seen a dragon before?"
He picked up a few sturdy looking metal bars, and brought them over to the pile, reinforcing a few spots. He paused for a bit, letting out a sigh. The towering pile of junk would be about tall enough to climb up, but the only question was whether or not it would be sturdy enough.
"If you want to go first, go ahead. That way, in case the pile falls after one of us goes up, it will be easier for me to close the gap."
As he spoke, he checked the integrity of their make-shift stairway. It would probably be strong enough to support two grown men, but it was difficult to maneuver about.
Sir Lucas agreed with Atlantace. Him climbing up first would be the best choice. After all this entire construction was really only build for him to reach the higher level. With Atlantace at the base of it, he could maintain the stability of the improvised staircase.
As Atlantace asked him about the dragon, Sir Lucas blinked for a moment and hesitated. His mind needed to wrap itself around the context as this question for him came suddenly out of the blue. Why would one, while trying to escape from a deserted basement, be thinking about dragons? Sir Lucas answered: "Well no. Dragons only live in myths and legends. They are claimed to be real but none has ever crossed my path."
First Sir Lucas took his time to secure all his armaments. The long sword tucked neatly in the scabbard. The belts, that kept what was left of his shield on his back, were severely tightened. When the Wolf Knight felt confident enough that he had reached the best conditions for the climb. He gave a nod to Atlantace and started to mount the escape route.
Carefully and slowly, Sir Lucas started to climb his way upward. Always securing him with at least three limbs before shifting his weight. And every time he did this he did it slowly. To feel and anticipate how the pile up would react to the moving mass. With being quite tall and wearing the plate armor. The construction had to carry a lot of weight. It wobbled at occasion. Causing the climbing knight to halt and wait. This created a few anxious moment filled with tension. For indications were present that the pile would not hold indefinitely. But it did held long enough for the Wolf Knight to reach the upper level of the broken staircase.
With a quick burst of strength of speed, Sir Lucas hoisted himself the last part up onto the mangled bottom of the staircase. Knocking over the top of the pile. Panting heavily as he brought his own weight and his armor to safety, catching his breath.
Watching down at the bottom and Atlantace, Sir Lucas felt that he was much higher then it seemed from down on the ground. He stretched out his hand to the dragon knight. Ready to help him up when he reached him.
Atlantace smiled at Sir Lucas's response to the question; it was as if he were lecturing a younger child who's imagination had ran away with fantasies unbound. The Dragon knight nodded, watching his comrade's careful ascent.
Atlantace hissed at several points, as he noticed the tower of junk shifting. The wolf knight pressed upward, and slowly but surely, made it to the landing. As Sir Lucas hauled himself onto the high platform, Atlantace noticed the part of the tower that was falling, and rolled out of the way as a medium sized desk crashed towards where he was standing.
Noticing that most of the pile was crumbling, Atlantace ran forward, jumping to a flat surface on one side, which wasn't moving. He noticed two things: One, the landing would be just out of his reach if the pile slid any more, and two, Sir Lucas was ready with an extended arm- which would allow Atlantace to reach the landing.
Atlantace steadied his stance, feeling the pile lurch again, and quickly jumped into the air, arm outstretched, and grabbed onto the Wolf knight's outstretched hand. Moving quickly, he pulled, allowing himself into the proper length to grab the ledge, and pulled the himself up onto the platform.
Moving into a sitting position, Atlantace watched as the rest of the pile slid down, finally giving up against the strain that the two fully armored men had put on it. Atlantace slowly got to his feet, catching his breath and nodding to the Wolf Knight. "Heh.... thanks. That was a close one... whew..."
It took him a couple seconds to catch his breath, and when he did, he turned to look at the door behind them. It seemed to be very old; the metal around the edges that acted as the hinge was rusted through, as was the handle mechanism. When Atlantace attempted to use the rusted handle, it simply broke off, crumbling to dust.
"oh, great... looks like we'll have to break the door down." he sighed heavily, looking at the door. "Luckily, this material is mostly destroyed..."
He kicked the door heavily, which shook the wall, and one piece of the metal strip-hinge seemed to break. Looking at Sir Lucas, Atlantace indicated the door. "You try, and then we'll both hit it at the same time if that doesn't work."
