In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There was a flash of light in the small room as Max and Rellen popped back into view on Max's gummi ship. Adrenaline running through his entire body from the fight with Lea. That hot-headed Heartless had really given him a run for his money.
He set Rellen down to sit against a wall as he caught his breath, which was still coming heavy. They'd barely managed to make it out of there without getting fried to a crisp. At least he'd be able to get this woman back to Jadis.
As Max's breath started to even out, he looked over at Rellen. She had blood all down the front of her face from her mouth and nose. She looked like someone had hauled off and slugged her in the face as hard as they could.
"Are you hurt?" he asked her, kneeling down in front of her and inspecting her. She still had a little bit of blood trickling from her nose. That would be easy for him to fix. A tiny bit of water to seal up the injury and, voila, instant healing.
He didn't know what had caused her to cough up blood, though. It could have been extreme overexertion, or maybe she'd really been beaten, and had internal bleeding. Neither one was a pleasant prospect.
"That bastard Heartless back there didn't hit you, did he? If he did, I need to know. You look like you're in bad shape, but I can fix you up if you can tell me what got you like this," he said, looking at her as he got back up andn walked over to a small indent in the wall. He spoke into a small panel int he side of the gummi ship, telling it he wanted a glass of water, and within moments, there it was. A fresh glass of water, complete with ice.
He walked over and set it down next to Rellen and raised an eyebrow at her,"Drink it, whether you think you're thirsty or not. I can tell you yo'ure going to need it. You've lost some blood from that nosebleed and coughing the stuff up. Water will help get fluids back into your system."

Rellen looked around her immediate surroundings, she was still be held, it was oh so comfortable being carried, it reminded her of on her home world the queen always used to get carried in a big chair with several paladins holding the chair up… home.
She snapped out of her daydream seeing the con founded gizmos around her, blinking lights, a gummi ship? This one looked far more complex than the one that Rellen owned. Then she was on the floor, leant against a wall.
"Are you hurt?"
She glanced up at her saviour Max. “ AM I ALRIGHT? “ She attempted to scream but she only go to AM before she began coughing up another barrage of blood, wiping it on her sleeve as to not dirty the floor she continued, maybe shouting wasn’t the best plan of action at the minute. “ Am I alright? Of course im fine, you’re the one that just had to fight that Lea. Are you ok?” She said looking up at Max, if she had the strength in her legs she’d stand up and hug him.
"That bastard Heartless back there didn't hit you, did he? If he did, I need to know. You look like you're in bad shape, but I can fix you up if you can tell me what got you like this,"
“Bad shape?” She couldn’t help but smile. “ I am fine, and no he didn’t beat me… infact he saved my life from a heartless. I don’t quite understand that yet, I think he wanted my power” She shrugged lightly just as a glass of water appeared, she warily took it and stared at it for a few seconds. “ I don’t think you can fix me. I just need rest. I don’t have any injuries that can be cured” She smiled weakly at max, usually her fake smile was oh so more convincing but in the state she was in it probably didn’t do a lot at all aside from make her look pathetic.
,"Drink it, whether you think you're thirsty or not. I can tell you you’re going to need it. You've lost some blood from that nosebleed and coughing the stuff up. Water will help get fluids back into your system."
“Fine” She mumbled, looking at the water for a few more seconds before sipping the entire glass. It was quickly drank and she let out a light sigh of relief, the water felt good, it washed the taste of drying blood from her throat and made her mouth feel a bit cleaner. “ I should thank you” She said as she attempted to stand up but only got to one knee. She remained on the one knee for a few seconds before giving up. “ Thank you,” she said, she didn’t need to embarrass herself anymore than she already had.
“Are you ok then? You just fought with that Lea guy, he was pretty strong huh”
Max recoiled slightly as Rellen started to cough up more blood. What was wrong with her? Was she sick or something? Or did she really push herself that far past her limits? If it was the latter, he had to admire that. It took some strength to push yourself that far past your limits. Max doubted that he had the strength of will to do that.
"Don't worry about me," he said, raising an eyebrow at her and patting her gently on the shoulder,"I'm perfectly fine. I've been in worse situations than that one before. I know how to handle myself."
He took the empty glass from her when she'd finished the water and set it on a nearby table and looked back at Rellen as she spoke.
"I should thank you....Thank you," she said as she tried to stand up, but only managed to get to a single knee. He quickly walked over and grabbed her gently under the arm. No sense in letting her fall and hurt herself more.
"Don't worry about it. I'm glad to piss off those damned Heartless," he said, helping her over to a nearby seat,"Besides, I was asked to find you by Lady Jadis, remember? She needs you for....something. Idunno what."
As he set her down in the seat, he pick his pike up from where it was on the floor and set it in a weapons rack set into a nearby wall. Then, he turned and started towards the cockpit and spoke quietly to the computer,"Set course for Traverse Town, computer. I want us there as fast as you can get us there."
"Affirmative, Maxwell," the computer responded, equally quiet,"Intended Trajectory: Traverse Town. Estimated Time of Arrival: three hours."
"Thank you, computer," Max said, turning and walking back towards where Rellen was. As he walked away, he heard a 'you're welcome' from the computer. It made him grin. Sometimes talking to that thing was just like talking to another person. It was kind of creepy for him, actually, having not grown up with these....technologies, they were called?
He pushed the thought out of his head as he came back to Rellen and said,"So, you said you needed rest, right? Would you like to sleep right now, or would you rather get something to eat first? I've got beds on this chunk of metal, and I've got a good food-maker thing. Idunno how it works, but...I've never had better food."

At first when Max had an arm under her he thought he was going to carry her again, she blushed dramatically, this boy was looking after her, she should be looking after him she felt embarrassed and a little pathetic.
“Don't worry about it. I'm glad to piss off those damned Heartless, Besides, I was asked to find you by Lady Jadis, remember? She needs you for....something. Idunno what."
“Lady Jadis probably would like me to help shield the world… Just as that heartless probably wanted me to break locks.” She sighed lightly, why was she being tugged around, she liked Lea until she found out whom he was, and it scared her too think of what she might have done. “ You know… if I hadn’t of found out he was a heartless… I would have opened any lock for him…” She sighed lightly glad that she was saved.
She was sat down onto a seat now and the lad had walked away, in the background he heard him talking to a computer of some sort, probably setting a course for home. It wasn’t long before he was bag, and Rellen was already feeling a little better.
“So, you said you needed rest, right? Would you like to sleep right now, or would you rather get something to eat first? I've got beds on this chunk of metal, and I've got a good food-maker thing. Idunno how it works, but...I've never had better food."
She smiled up at him “ Don’t worry yourself about me, I don’t need to sleep yet, however, food would be appreciated if you have anything, I don’t mind what. “ Truth be told Rellen couldn’t remember the last time she had a proper full meal. She suddenly felt overcome with hunger. “ Anything you have will be fine” She smiled up at max before her mind clicked that she still hadn’t said thank you.
“ Thank you for saving me though. I didn’t want to loose my heart, “ Rellen was thinking, there was something she was missing… what was it… Bag. “ Oh no… Did you get my bag?” She sounded eccentric now, her voice becoming more and more struggled and loud, she was looking from side to side drastically trying to see it, did he get it? She hoped for the gods that it was here… she couldn’t lose her bag.
"Don't worry about it," Max said as Rellen talked about how she would have opened any lock for Lea back in Disney Castle. She seemed to be taking the fact that she was tricked by a Heartless really hard,"He's not just any regular Heartless anyway, and he's not just an exceptionally strong Heartless. He's....well, he a special Heartless, much as I hate to refer to him that way. He's a part of a group of Heartless like him who are leading the lesser Heartless. They're manipulating them."
He got up as she said she'd like somethign to eat, and since she left the choice to him, he picked beef stew. This thing made fantastic beef stew. The chunks of beef in it practically melted in your mouth. That coupled with the soft chunks of carrots and other vegetables in it made the stuff fantastic. It was his favorite meal from the food-maker thing.
"Here you go," he said, setting the bowl down in front of her with a spoon, holding a bowl of his own,"It's great. Beef stew. You'll like it."
He spooned out a small spoonful of the stew and blew on it to cool it off, and then ate it. It was delicious, like always.

((Sorry ive been a bit poo lately...))
Rellen looked suspiciously at the beef stew, she had been tricked once today and she didn’t really know if she could trust this guy, for all she knew he was manipulating her by using Jadis’s name. Her doubts however were quelled when he himself began to eat the stew, she was just being paranoid.
She lifted the spoon and began to feed the stew into her mouth; it was indeed very delectable, as the stew and chunks of beef melted in her mouth. “And a machine made this?” She asked in amazement, she didn’t know that machines could do such fantastic things. She cheerfully smiled at max, eating her stew. Letting out a big steamy sigh as she finished the last remnants and turned her spoon around the bowl, determined to get the last scrapings of the bowl she picked it up “Were is the sink?” As she wandered around trying to locate were she should wash the dishes.
“By the way, if there’s any questions you want answering just ask them, you’ve shown me a lot of hospitality the least I can do is answer your questions, oh and of course, my lock making and door opening abilities are at your disposal.” She smiled sweetly at max before continuing to search for the sink, she checked the walls, hurrying around but failed to see a sink in the close area.
Max shook his head as Rellen got up, saying she was going to clean the dishes. He just got up and gently pulled the bowl from her hand.
"No need to do that," he said, putting the dishes back from where they had appeared in the food synthesizer,"Watch this."
He reached out and pressed a button on the side panel in front of him, and the dishes disappeared in a small, bright flash of light. It had taken him a while to figure out that he could do that. When he had discoverd it, the first time it'd happened, it had startled him and he'd spent about an hour and a half searching for his missing bowl.
"There we go, that takes care of that," he said, turning back to Rellen. He took in a deep breath and let it out slow as his mind turned back to the fight with Lea. That had been a hard fight. He hadn't been injured at all, but.....had it gone on any longer, that definitely would have changed.
He began to consider pulling out his old combat armor. It would provide a measure of physical protection, at least, and it wouldn't encumber him any. He would still be able to move in it somewhat easily.
He decided that, when Rellen was settled in during their trip to Traverse Town again, he would go ahead and change into his old combat armor. He almost grinned at the prospect of having the weight of chainmail on him again. It was more comfortable than these regular lightweight clothes, or at least it was to him.

Rellen looked on as the bowls were taken from her hands and placed back were the food came from. “ You’re not going to clean Th—“ She was cut off as the dishes flashed and disappeared in a flash of light. “ Were… did the bowls go?” She pondered allowed, this gummy ship was evidently far more advanced than the one that she had, heck, she would be surprised if the gummi ships locator would even work. If it didn’t, her gummi ship would stay above Disney castle.
She glanced around the ship a few more times, now truly taking in the surroundings that she was in when she saw Max smiling about something, and mumbling about the battle with Lea. “ Hey” She said as she literally pranced over to him. “ Don’t worry about it, he’s a heartless right? Well, that means he’s just darkness, and we all know that darkness can never win” She smiled, placing a hand over where her heart was she said something in a strange little language. “ It’s the olde speak on my planet, the paladins used to use it when they went into battle with the black heartless, though on our worlds they were known as the thieves of heart.” She smiled again, trying to get him to cheer up, there was something bothering him, was it the fact he didn’t get to finish his fight with Lea?
“Come on big guy, you’re the one that saved me remember, your not hurt or anything, I bet that you coulda beat up that Lea if you hadn’t had to worry about me, which by the way, I am glad you did worry” She smiled again gleaming to him. “Oh… I don’t suppose you have any synthesising materials? I feel like I owe you for this, if I can get hold of some synthesising materials ill make you something as a thank you present, and as a sign of our friendship” She smiled again before pressing out her hand for a formal handshake.
The idea to Rellen was that if she could manage to collect some materials, she could make a necklace, and then if she made the key for the necklace’s lock… yes it should be possible, she could make him a shield… a big bubble of light to help against the heartless.
She sat down on the chair again and looked at Max with blinking eyes.
A puzzled look came across Max's face as she mentioned synthesizing materials. He didn't exactly know what she was talking about, but he thought he had an idea.....
"You said synthesizing materials.....right?" he asked her, scratching his head,"I.....don't know. I have something, but I'm not sure if they're what you're talking about or not. Come on, follow me."
He turned and motioned for her to follow him as he walked off through his ship. He turned a couple of corners and went down a narrow little corridor into a large cargo room. One large wall was covered with drawers. Max jerked his head towards the drawers as Rellen followed him in and asked,"Check those drawers. I'm not sure, but....I think those might be what you're asking about."
(ooc: he's got.....a LOT of synthesis stuff, just so you know. XD he's been unwittingly collecting it, thinking it might prove useful eventually. lol.)

Rellen looked at max, as he seemed perplexed. She kind of felt sorry for the young boy who seemed so confused by things that she took for granted, I guess that whilst she didn’t know much about fighting she had more knowledge in other areas.
"You said synthesizing materials.....right?" he asked her, scratching his head,” I.....don't know. I have something, but I'm not sure if they're what you're talking about or not. Come on, follow me."
“Oh really?” was all she managed to say before max was walking away, she had to do a brisk power walk to keep up, she wasn’t all that good at walking and so her pace was far outmatched. However when they reached the room she was astounded. Just how big was this damned gummi ship?
"Check those drawers. I'm not sure, but....I think those might be what you're asking about."
Rellen quickly trotted off to the drawers indicated, as she opened them she was astounded, she opened the first one, then the second, as she opened more and more, the rate at which she opened them increased. “ Wha—“ She was losing her words. “How…” She slammed all the drawers shut at once.
“Max… Where did you get all of these?” She asked politely, trying to contain herself, with the materials here she could create… pretty much anything. “ With these I could… Well… I could do anything; by quickly glancing at them, I think I might have enough materials to create the shield that Lady Jadis wanted. And still have some spare…” She was astounded, how had this supply gone unnoticed for so long.
“Max. Name one thing you want, and ill grant you it, a shield? A bubble? A key to open any door? Just ask now, and it’s yours. I will even tell you why Jadis wants me.” She coughed lightly before slumping onto the floor and looking up at. “ Jadis wants me to use my ability to create a shield large enough and strong enough to keep the heartless and any other threats away from it. To protect the entire world, with a shield. Its plausible, but I thought impossible to collect the amount of materials. That… Is the extent of my abilities and why you was sent to help me.”
She sat there, eyes almost falling out of her sockets, astounded.
Max frowned down at Rellen in confusion as she slammed the drawers in amazement. He didn't understand why she was so amazed. He'd just been collecting this stuff from the heartless he'd been killing. He'd done away with a LOT of heartless, especially lately.
“Max… Where did you get all of these?” She asked him in obvious shock. He just shrugged.
"I pick them up whenever I kill heartless. My computer said they could be useful, so....I decided to make sure I didn't leave anything lying around after a heartless fight. I'd have my computer teleport them straight up into these drawers from the ground," Max said, a puzzled look on his face,"Why? Is this....a lot of synthametizing stuff?"
“Max. Name one thing you want, and ill grant you it, a shield? A bubble? A key to open any door? Just ask now, and it’s yours." Rellen said before going into an explanation as to why Jadis wanted Max to retrieve her. So that was it, huh? To form a protective shield around Traverse Town.
Then, his mind turned back to what Rellen had just said. She'd make him anything, hm? Well....maybe.....
"Could you make me a new spear....?" Max asked her, holding up the one he'd been carrying for a long time, it's chipped and dulled head reflecting dully the lights in the rooms,"Can you make it just like this one, but harder to break and dull? This one's kind of had it. I haven't really had the time to care for it properly...."

Rellen listened to his request, processed it in her mind, she would have to try and write a recipe for this. “ Give me a few minutes,” She said as she opened her bag and ripped out a long roll of paper and a pen.
Scribbles upon scribbles were jotted down as she occasionally rummaged through the drawers and examined various materials with the occasional “ No, this won’t do” or an “ Ahhh! Of course!” Within 5 minutes the floor was amass with various crystals and shards, paper lay along the floor, scribbled on, and now, a neat version was being written up. Rellen sat upright and let out a satisfied “ Ahhh, Perfecto I think.”
She lifted up the scroll so that Max could see it; the text was in her homelands language, probably a load of different jotted lines with dots and squiggles to Max. “ And you see this bit here” she went on as she explained the mechanics behind the spear.
“Now Im ready” She began as she placed the various crystals, more than usual, around in a pattern on the floor. She lifted her palms up and started making patters in the air whilst speaking in a strange tongue.
The gems flew into the air, making spirals and leaving behind them a trail of colour that resembled the colour of the gem, they floated around slowly getting closer to the now outstretched hands, and as they all met simultaneously, a large flash of light broke out.
Rellen blinked several times and looked at what she had created. “ Your spear, sir Max” She smiled as she took it over to him. “ Now, it was two little extras I did for you. If you hit this” She then proceeded to hit a small shield like symbol in the middle. “You’ll get a shield” And as she said the words, a round disk with a radius of about a metre sprang out. “And if turn the base of the spear before throwing it, and it hits someone, a sphere shield will expand from the spears head, which… well, you get the idea of the damage that could cause.”
Rellen beamed up at him as she smashed the shield button again and the sphere returned to its normal self, it was a turquoise colour with a strange insignia wrapped around it. “That insignia is my homeworlds crest. Please fight with honour.” She smiled before waiting to see if he liked his new toy.
Max's eyebrow went up in surprise as the round shield sprang up out of the spear. It was a nice addition, he had to admit, even if a little unecessary. He could make shields out of his water at any time. But, if he ever couldn't use his power over water for some reason, the shield in the spear would come in handy. The other part Rellen had mentioned, though, was VERY useful. He'd probably end up using it a lot. In his mind's eye, Max imagined the spear striking heartless, the shield from the head of the spear literally making them explode.....
"Thank you, Rellen," he said, grinning and taking it,"This thing looks amazing....and it looks just like my old one."
He hefted the new spear in his hands. It didn't just look like the old one, but it had the same balance and everything too. It was as close to perfect as he thought a weapon could possibly get.
"I appreciate it, Rellen," he said, grinning over at her,"I love it. It's a beautiful piece of work."
Post by darkunslint on Apr 23, 2010 4:27:51 GMT -4
((ok, because it took so long, I made a decentish post.))
“I’m glad you like it” she smiled up at him. The blood in her throat was completely diminished now, she was returning to normal. “Finally, looks like my body has repaired itself, I’m sure there will be a lot of problems on your journeys…” She smiled and looked back at the draws full of crystals. “ If you ever need anything made ask me, ill write a recipe or ill ask a moogle to help me create things if need be.
"I love it. It's a beautiful piece of work."
Rellen stared at the boy, she was for that exact moment speechless, all defences she had amounted crumbled in that one moment of someone saying thank you. In her home world thank yous were rare, everyone was given a job and that was expected of them, why would she receive thanks for doing something that was expected of her? In her eyes she replayed the fact that she had caused the end of her world, it was her world, she didn’t fulfil her duty, that’s why it crumbled.
Rellen’s arms moved up and around the boy, grabbing around his back and clinging to his hair. “You said thank you” She smiled greatly although the smile was more than likely missed. “I hope that you can use that spear with the correct motives… I know you feel angry for those that destroy the worlds… but you must look at it” she tried to word it differently to not give away too much information. “That is what they were created for, they can’t help it. You can’t judge upon actions if you don’t take into consideration their purposes.” She leaned back so that her face was now looking down at Max’s. “Please don’t judge those that end the worlds so easily.”
Her eyes at that moment showed the truth, they blinked with the guilt she was burdened with, a tear swelled in her eyes, mixing with the now dried blood it formed a pinkish tinge before she let go of max and rubbed her eyes in a nonchalant way.
Max was surprised when Rellen got up and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him. He just kind of stayed there, his arms trapped between his and Rellen's bodies. It was when she started asking him not to judge the Heartless so easily that he stiffened.
"I won't do that," he said, clenching his jaw for a moment before continuing,"The Heartless are nothing but mindless creatures of destruction. They have no reason. They have no purpose, except to destroy whatever they find. My world fell to those beasts, along with countless others, and I don't intend to just allow them to run rampant across the worlds any longer.
"Nobody seems willing to step up and protect the worlds from those filthy monsters. If I don't do it, nobody will. If I don't do it, the Heartless will keep on destroying worlds. If I don't stop them.....eventually everything will be gone, consumed by the Heartless. I refuse to let that happen, even if they take my heart in the process. At least I know I didn't just lay down and die like some timid little puppy, waiting for someone to save me."
He looked at her as she pulled back, a tear runnign down her face through the streaks of blood over it. He just shook his head and shrugged at her.
"Sorry, Rellen, but.....like I said, I refuse to just lay down and die. That's how the meek and cowardly die. I refuse to be anything like that. I'm gong to fight to my last breath. It's how I was raised, and how I'll live."
