In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

well for starters, keep the location a secret. so that only members know how to get there.
And basicly the only thing you need is something that prevents the use of corridors of darkness within the base. a base with the best defences ever is pointless if any dark XII or org XIII member can simply portal into the room. any room, at any time. it's fair, we can't appear in their bases, so they can't appear in ours.
*nods* good thoughts, IUMA. I like them. I'll have to check with some of our people and see what we can get done. I'll check with Rellen, and if all else fails, I guess we could always see if Jadis could help us.
But, to my knowledge, wouldn't they need to know exactly the place they are portalling to? They wouldn't be able to randomly pop and pull the location out of their asses. ._.
Wait a minute. The Guardians are supposed to be the defenders of the worlds as we know them correct? Essentially, undoers of evil doers, crusaders of hope, warriors of light. I'm sorry, but a jungle, as cool and "worldly" as it sounds, doesn't quite fit the bill. Especially in a decrepit ruin. I'm have to agree with a few of Iuma's intial suggestions more. Specifically, Radiant Garden, where there is already one organization that would view this one in a friendly light. Disney Castle would also be a fantastic choice do to the Corner Stone around which the Castle was built. That world is the epitome of light/anti-heartless/anti-bad guy.
The Corner Stone served to lock out the Heartless by filling Disney Castle with light. Where light fills all corners, no shadows gather. Dark corridors would be useless to access the Castle for this reason. On top of that, the castle is huge, leaving plenty of room for just about anything Queen Minnie will allow. Personnel Quarters, Armory, maybe even an R&D Lab. It leaves plenty of room for expansion and its a well-known place, meaning your members won't get lost. As a Bastion of Light, Disney Castle stands strong, a picture of what (from what I've read) the Guardians embody.
I agree with Oogie on his ideas, but I had another idea. What says you about creating a base in a world Orginazation XIII doesn't know about, say Spira or an original world? That might work, seeings as we could make more allies too! But where woud we post it..........in In, Out and About? IDK, just a suggestion.
The problem with original worlds isn't so much a problem for those inventing them as it is for plot. If you use an original world, you could essentially invent or create any attribute you desired. This gives the creator of the world an unfair advantage, especially when it comes to devising plots. For exactly: "Lawl, our world is made of pure light and anyone who's not a good guy that comes here instantly dies. Pwn!" On top of that, why invent a world to fit your needs when there are already two perfect one which provide anything an organization like this could ever need? Radiant Garden has allies and Disney Castle has the Corner Stone. I stand firmly by my suggestion that these two worlds would be the best.

Oogie unfortunatly the idea of Disney Castle isnt going to work... the Corner Stone is... elsewere... as far as I know.
I personally think that the ruins would work or even converting the ZERO district into our base? Its not used for much else and not many go there, if we blocked off the old entrance and created a new one no one but the Guardians would know how to enter and then if we followed up on the shielding to stop the Dark from getting in, placed a gummi teleport pad inside, we would be sorted (As you can only sue a gummi teleport pad after you have visited that pad)
Actually, a jungle would actually work... as it offers many hiding and ambush places as well as the possibility to add a few decoy bases in case the enemy showed up. We are not trying to fall under the stereotype of "good guys". I personally despise stereotypes, since they reduce the possibilities of surprise and plot twists.
Unfortunately, like Herby stated, the Cornerstone of Light has been taken away from Disney Castle by its king in order to protect it. The Dark XII were trying to taint it in Timeless River, but I really don't know how that ended.
The thing about Radiant Garden is that they already have people... let's say occupying it. We should be somewhat spreading into another place instead of "protecting" a world which is already "protected". This is also why we had ruled out Traverse Town, as Jadis and her knights, apprentices, etc, etc are protecting it. However, the Zero District idea could turn out to be pretty interesting...
Anyway, thanks to you members and non-members for your opinions and suggestions! ~Shun
Me and Shun already thought of Disney Castle and Radiant Garden, Oogie. We decided against those places becuase they are both already protected, what with Minnie Mouse's Mousketeers in Disney Castle and the RGRUC in Radiant Garden, the Guardians are not needed there at all. Our cause would be better served by setting up a base on a world that has no such protection yet.
Now, TRaverse Town does already have this protectin, but the idea of using the Zero District intrigues me. I'm definitely going to discuss that one with Shun, Herby. thanks for that thought. lol.
And, like Shun said, we liked the jungle ruins idea for all those examples he gave. It would honestly be a good place. As for an original world, we received an idea from another member of the Guardians via PM about one that we would like to use, and I'm in the process of looking into it. It's slow going, though, due to my school and all.
BTW, that will only last a month. After that, I'll be back full-time on WD. I'll have more time to devote to the place. lol.

Zero District idea sounds the best. Somewhat of a hiding spot and teh ultimate defense if it is found(which is unlikely). Also, being in Traverse Town would make it a MAJOR holding point against the Heartless there, and with Gladis and her buddies there to unwittingly help out, it would be an almost impenetrable fortress and amazing location for destroying the Heartless.
The countruction would be an a-mah-zing ordeal though, but y'all could do like a thread where there are waves of the 12's Heartless trying to sabotage the construction, and some citizens(A.K.A people's charries) and the Guardians are making sure they can't destroy it, and if any Heartless get away without being slain while they're running away, then the 12 destroy the part of the base that Heartless was attacking, and each part of the base takes so many turns to build...
Thats it, if you guys go with that idea, I have ultimadibs on game director and designer.
The problem is that building in Traverse Town would make it too easy for people to join with very little roleplay effort. They wake up in Traverse Town, walk into the HQ and sign up. No real roleplay. The second issue is that Traverse Town has become people's home. To just decide to build a base there could essentially destroy what little bit of a life the refugees have regathered from the winds of oblivion. I personally dislike the idea of a base in the jungle, but because of the accessibility of Traverse Town, its dangerous streets due to Heartless infestation, the people who live there, and the fact that anyone can just walk right in through the gate (making it an insecure location).
A base is a strong hold. Whether it be because of tight security, impenetrable defenses, or its location being kept a secret. In Traverse Town, a base would have none of these things, rendering its title as "base" nothing more than that- a title. Having Disney Castle and Radiant Garden shot down, I now throw myself headlong behind the previous suggestion of Destiny Islands. The playable part of that world was only a small island several miles off the coast of another, larger place, where the gang actually lived (as shown by Kairi in KH2). If we could assume that Destiny Islands is an archipelago or something similar (do to the plural, "islands") you could easily claim that one of the islands has nothing on it, which would make it easy to build on, and easy to claim that there are many islands, so there is no guaranteed way to pinpoint the HQ. Also, the islands are surrounded by tidal waters, the ultimate natural defense.
Oogie, we appreciate this, but me and shun have our choices of locations narrowed down now to 2 options: 1) Jungle Ruins. The reason for choosing this is rather self explanatory. Ancient Ruins are mazes, pure and simple. They are designed this way by nature in order to confuse grave-robbers, etc. We can use this to our advantage and use converging intersections in the 'maze' of passages as chokepoints to set up impassable shields, traps, etc. Not to mention the jungle surrounding the place itself would be spectacular for setting up an ambush and traps as well. Point is, these ruins would be easily defendable. On top of that, we have Rellen, who can make shields and stuff. She could synthesize somethign that would make it impossible to teleport into or out of the base, which would require that the XII physical traverse the maze of traps. On top of this, we would have NO construction, w hich means it could be set up that much faster.
2) a cavefull of crystals imbued with light. These crystals will, naturally, repel weaker heartless and weaken the stronger ones, while also preventing the use of the Corridors of Darkness. This prospective base location would require us to A) find a location filled with crystals in either final fantasty or disney(crystal fissure won't work. It's too small.) or B) create an original world altogether, which Sephiroth is hesitant to do.
So, going off of all of this, it's more than likely that we will end up with a jungle base. However, me and shun would prefer to have the light crystals. That would be much more effective and easier than having Rellen erect all of our defenses for us.
I still would think ruins would be an undesirable choice. They weren't just designed to keep robber out, but to keep the few that got in from leaving. That, and the structure will be old, corroded by time and the elements. A disaster waiting to happen. One powerful blow to the right spot, and the whole could collapse.
