In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Vast, extensive, and unfathomable. Sapphire blue reflecting from the sky. The reflection of the sun on the water created shimmers and glints, several thin neon blue lines were gazed at from below. Indeed, the ocean was beautiful, even more so from below it. The ears of the young girl were filled up, all she heard were whispers from the blanket of watery blue. Her heart became sensitive as she listened, almost as if she could hear the water's spirit murmuring.
She lay on her back, at the bottom of the ocean, her fingertips running through the sand beneath her. This was relaxing, though she didn't like staying in one place for too long, she lifted herself up in a sitting position before thrusting her body upwards. No legs required to swim, only a beautiful long fish tail that beated against the waters still current.
A smile curved on her blue-ish lips as she reached the shore, only her head and chest poked up whilst the rest of her body remained hidden in the water, she wasn't that far away from the small island near her. It didn't look like anyone was there, so the young undine, Crystal, stayed where she was, gazing at her surroundings.
Maybe today she's have her first encounter, who knew?
Destiny Island, such a peaceful place. Demyx smiled as he appeared out from a dark portal, he was in a chipper mood. For today was his lucky day.
After slaving away on countless of missions, Saix finally presented to him a recon mission. "This missions in the bag!" Demyx thought excited.
It was great! All he had to do was walk around this world, note whatever he saw and go back to Castke Oblivion. It wouldn't take him any time at all! But Demyx had other plans in mind.
He wanted to savor this moment, so instead of getting his mission done and over with quickly. He thought, he why not goof around for a bit?
He walked out onto the nice, warm sand. And peering up at the sky smiled. It was so beautiful, the sun the warmth of it against his face would have made him happy. That is if he could actually feel anything. But still...looking out into the vast sea made him want to just sit down and relax.
And why not? His smile began to widen. "I know what I'll do." he said walking until he reached the edge of the water. He sat down, and raising his hand summoned up his sitar.
"How about some music?" he thought, "Finally I have some privacy, so it's not like anyone can stop me."
This was true, at Castle Oblivion almost everyone of the Orginizatiom would tell him to "Shut up!" or "To actually do something productive with his peathetic life." But music was productive! It ment everything to him, even if he didn't have a heart. His Sitar and music were the only thing that could keep him in a sense happy.
So with this thought, he began to play. Thinking that there was no one around, how wrong he was.
Crystal remained where she was, breathing peacefully as she tilt her head back and closed her eyes. Today was so beautiful, so peaceful, her delicate fingers ran through the water, it was odd that she could stay in the water and never wrinkle up, just feeling the water wrap around her skin like a blanket caused her to shudder slightly, it was an ecstatic feeling.
The young undine's attention was then turned to the shore, she tilt her head to the side, forever smiling as she worked out a young man playing with an intrument. A hand was placed over Crystal's chest as she smiled with delight. Music, such a beautiful way of expression. It was also something Crystal, or, in love with, in a sense.
She quietly ducked back into the water and swam a little closer to the sandy shore before rising once again in the water, with only her head and chest poking out, her tail was luckily not seen. She wasn't ready for anyone to see her yet. It was then Crystal opened her mouth and began harmonizing with the young man playing his sitar, some legends were in fact true about sirens and undines, some were simple rumours, but Crystal's voice, it was quite beautiful.
With a gentle giggle, she continued vocalising and humming along to the man's beautiful playing. Her voice was heard, but could he see her?
(Hey! Lol just decided to jump in, since this seemed like the perfect chance to use Demyx. I can't wait to see what happens. )
Demyx played a soft mello tune, to match the world's atmosphere. And Letting his hands take control, closed his eyes. It sounded beautiful to his ears. Note after note, Demyx began to feel like he was in a world of his own.
Keeping his eye's closed, he suddenly heard a sweet, melodious, voice singing along with his tune. But Demyx being so into the song didn't really pay that much attention to it. After the first couple of chords though, he began to notice the voice and instantly stopped.
"Uh-oh...," he thought, panicking a little. "Someone saw me playing!?"
He turned his head drastically to the left and right, seeing if there was someone nearby. But he spotted nothing. "Thats wierd..." he murmured to himself, "I don't see anyone, so where did that voice come from?"
Demyx then started to get worried, "Aww man this isn't good! If I've been spotted, and by the enemy then...oh Saix is gonna kill me!"
He looked around again, but still no sighn of anyone around. He then looked forward, and to his surprise saw a head, peeping out of the water.
"What the-!?" Demyx thought shocked.
He slid back a little, only to be caught by the sand, that forced him to fall on his back. "Oof!" he let out. As his head hit the ground.
Crystal seemed quite disappointed that the music had stopped, she wondered why. It was then she noticed, no... she could sense his worry, she was sensitive to emotion, it was natural for the young undine. Feeling quite concerned for the young man, she swam closer to the sandy shore. She didn't want to say it was lucky that he fell over, but at least he couldn't see her tail fin.
As her fin got closer to the sand, she felt a tingling feeling surge up it, a swarm of bubbles appeared around her tail, one by one, they popped to reveal a pair of long, delicate legs. She felt herself wobble slightly as she adjusted. Luckily, her train that was accompanied with her tail was around her waist and acted like a type of sarong, but with a slit on the left.
She smiled as she walked over to where the man had fallen, her hands placed on her knees as she leaned forward, looking down at him, her head blocking the sun from his vision slightly. Her head tilt to the side as she looked at him curiosly.
"Are you alright there? I'm sorry if I startled you... I've just never heard such beautiful playing before," she said, placing her hand over her heart in an honest way, she then gestured it towards him, still smiling "do you need help getting up?"
Demyx was silent, as a young girl leaned over him. She was quite beautiful, her skin was a creamy white color. And her hair was aquamarine. If he had a heart, the nobody wouldve blushed a little. But seeing how he lacked one, stayed emotionless.
"Are you alright there? I'm sorry if I startled you ...I've just haven't heard such beautiful playing before." The girl said, placing her hand over her heart in an honest way, she then gestured it towards him smiling. "Do you need help getting up?"
Demyx shook his head, "No thanks." he said lifting his head up. He peered into the girls gorgeous eyes. "So you were the one, that was singing eh?"
He smiled, "Thank you...I'm glad that at least someone appreciates my music."
Crystal smiled, though kind of awkwardly took back her hand. She peered at the back of his head, making sure he hadn't hurt himself serious, he seemed fine. She then giggled slightly as she noticed his hair, the way it was styled was what made her laugh, but not in a mocking way, it was actually quite nice.
She then looked over at his face as she knelt down to join him on the sand, she rubbed the back of her head nervously as he asked about her singing, she felt a little shy now that he mentioned it. "Uhm, yeah, that was me... sorry if you didn't like it, I just love music," she held up her index finger as she explained herself "well, I have a strong passion for music, or even anything that sounds good to my ears," her attention turned to the ocean as low soft waves crashed.
"I love the sound of water, the ocean especially..." she smiled, getting lost in her own world "music is a way of expressing how one feels, how they think," she then thought for a minute "come to think of it, if I was without a heart, I'd use music and expression to show how I feel... uhm..." now she just felt silly, what was she doing talking to this stranger? Then again... for a first encounter, at least he seemed to like music the same way she did... that was unexpected.
"Uhm, anyway... what's your name? My name's Crystal... it's nice to meet you... hmm?" hopefully he wasn't reluctant about telling her his name. He seemed interesting so far... despite being a complete stranger who just so happened to love music.
Demyx was completely taken back by her words. "If she didn't have a heart?" he thought, did this girl know what he was? Was she apart of Organization XII? He began to panick slightly...but then calming his nerves shook his head slightly.
No...this girl wasn't part of them. She seemed to innocent to be a heartless, plus even if she was he wouldve felt a dark aura surround her being. This thought made Demyx sigh in relief.
He peered back up at the girl, and extending his hand towards her said. "Im Demyx. And not liking your voice?" he let out a small laugh, "Please it's beautiful."
Demyx couldn't believe what he was saying, he had just revealed his name! If anyone if the Organization members were there, they would have surely taken his head off.
But they weren't, and plus...he felt like he could trust thus girl. It was worth the risk.
He gave the girl a warm smile, "I understand what you mean...i have a great passion for music as well...sometimes I feel like it's the only thing I can use to express how I feel."
He looked down at his sitar. "Actually..." he thought sadly, "Its the only thing I can use."
(I need to countdown how long she can stay in that form...uhmm, she's been like that for two posts, countdown is now...8)
Crystal's heart jolted slightly with a strange feeling, this man was worrying again? Her heart was telling her so, but it faded as quick as it appeared. She looked at him, her expression was quite concerned. I wonder why he keeps getting anxious...[/i]
She then cast that all aside as he spoke of him name, she nodded and smiled, but there was one problem... how would she pronounce it? Despite him saying it just then, her vocabulary had trouble pronouncing new words for the very first time, well... names especially, she felt quite awkward as she tried saying it. "Dem... Demikes? Uhm... aheheh," she chuckled nervously, her cheeks went a little red with embarassment.
Her eyes went a little wide as he referred to her voice as beautiful, that didn't help the redness in her cheeks. Crystal was a shy soul, so she looked away, her hair fell forward and covered her cheeks slightly.
Though... him saying that, she couldn't help but feel a little sad. "Hah... you're the first to say that..." which, in fact, he was... "my voice is a curse, but I... I just can't help it, I love to sing... my heart feels so empty without song and music... I can't explain it well... sorry..."
He must've thought she was so weird right about now...
Demyx chuckeled, as the girl called Crystal struggled with his name. Well it was an uncommen name, he place his hand on her shoulder.
"Here let me help you out." he said smiling. "Dem...yx, Demyx!"
He then let out a small laugh, "Of course if you still have trouble pronoucing my name, you can just call me...um...Dem."
He let out another laugh, then listening to Crystal nodded his head. "No I understand...but your voice isn't a curse."
He removed his hand from her shoulder, and looking down lightly stroked the strings of his sitar with his fingers. "Some people may think music is lame and pointless...but really they just don't understand the beauty of it."
He looked back up at her, "Your voice is a gift not a curse, and there's no reason for you to be shy about it."
Demyx was then silent, what was he thinking? Talking in such a way, it was unlike him. But, this was the first time he ever met someone with as much passion for music, as him. Could that be why he was acting this way?only questions paraded through his head now. But he soon relieved them, as he waited for the girl to reply.
The cursed songstress sighed, a humorous look plastered her face as she looked at Demyx who tried to help her say his name, a look that said typical. So, it wasn't pronounced "Demikes", it did sound a little silly, the only other way she could think of was prouncing the last three letters as "mix". It sounded just about right, though upon listening to him say about just calling him Dem, like a nickname, she nodded.
"Okay, hmm... I'll call you Demy," she smiled, tilting her head to the side playfully, she then looked over at his hand on her shoulder, the sadness came back. "You'd be surprised..." she sighed, laying on her back as he removed his hand, her fingertips stroked the sand as she looked up at the sun, a thoughtful look plastered her face.
"Sometimes beauty... isn't always a good thing," she said sadly, she thought nothing of her looks, but her voice... yes, it was beautiful, but still... so many lives were lost because of it "I can't do what I love most without fear of people getting hurt... it's... it's happened before," the yet to be discovered siren sighed, as she closed her eyes briefly. Why was she so sensitive? Then again... she was affiliated with water... so that explained it.
"Demy," she said her given nickname for him softly as she smiled softly, her eyes were still closed "could you play again...? Please? It is... so very relxing to hear such melodic beauty enter my ears and touch my heart..." she said these words with such heartfelt honesty. It felt wonderful to meet someone who shared her love for music, she always thought she was the only one to ever have such a passion.
Demyx was confused by what Crystal was saying, "fear of hurting others with her voice?" he thought confused. Questions started to enter through his head once again. He wondered what kind of background this girl had come from.
As she looked up to the sky, so did he. Suddenly the girl spoke again, he lowered his head to look at her.
"Demy," She said her given nickname for him softly as she smiled softly, her eyes were still closed. "Could you play again...? Please? It is...so very relaxing to hear such melodic enter my ears and touch my heart..."
Demyx was taken back by the request, "Um..." he said, "Sure if you want..."
He held up his sitar in his left hand, then placing his other hand over the strings began to play again. The tune was a soft as the earlier one had been, except this time there seemed to be a touch of sadness to it,
Demyx closed his eye's, as he let the melody take over his body. His hand began to act by it's own accord, and soon he was enveloped by music once again.
Crystal smiled as the music soon filled her ears, her hands were placed over her beating heart as she let herself become lost in Demyx's music... so... is this what others heard when she sang? Or was it that Demyx's music was better? Crystal could never imagine such beautiful sounds to come from her.
Her eyes opened slowly as she sat up, her gaze focussed on Demyx as he played, she couldn't help but smile, he seemed so passionate in what he did. It was then her smile faded as she noticed something... the melody... it sounded... so sad. This, too, upset Crystal to a slight degree. Was he sad? He did say it was a way of him expressing how he felt... so... was there something wrong?
She frowned softly with concern as she got on her hands and knees, moving a little closer to him, her head tilt curiously once again. She closed her mouth as she began humming and vocalising with the melody he played. She really couldn't help herself, her heart was telling her to join him in this sad melody.
She then placed her hands in her lap as she was kneeling closely and opposite him, she closed her eyes softly and continued to vocalise. She then stopped suddenly as she remembered something, her attention turned to the blue bag she had on her, she smiled as she reached inside and took out something small and blue. An ocarina.
Crystal looked at Demyx before smiling down at the musical object in her hands, she placed it to her lips and breathed into it softly, accompanying him. This was her most favourite instrument, ever since she was little. She always put all her heart and soul into it. Her eyes closed as she played along with him.
There was something about this young man that intrigued her, she wanted to know who he was... though she didn't want to ruin the moment.
Nothing...that's where Demyx came from. Although he lived within the shadows, he could never be classified as one if the darkness, nor could be classified as one within the light. He was just nothing...a nobody...and nothing more.,.
It was quite sad...for if he died...no one would care. He'd just dissapear, and that would be that. But that didn't really matter to him. No...
As he continued to play, the melody bagan to saden even more. He remembered one time in Castle Oblivion, when he was fixing his hair. Saix walking in on him, and asking him why he cared about his memories so much.
At that time, Demyx pretended to not have an answer, and therefore stayed silent. But he knew why he cherished them so much. It was because they were the only proof he had, in knowing he was once actually a person.
Though he couldn't remember what it felt like to have emotions, he could at least get a sense of what it was like.
Continuing to play, all these thoughts clung to his mind like fungus. That is until he heard Crystal, vocalize to the melody. That cheered him up a little. How beautiful her voice was, but he wondered why she was so afraid of using it.
He wondered if something horrible might've happened In her past. And intrigued his curiosity to find out, but he knew that would be incrediably rude. Plus, it wasn't really his buisness...so it was probablly best to leave the question alone.
Now, dismissing all his thoughts the song began to lighten up a little, but it still was a little bit sad Harmonizing with Crystals lovely voice, he was surprised to hear the girl stop singing.
At that moment, he was about to open his eyes and ask why she stopped. But then his ear's started to pick up on another sound...he wasn't sure what it was. He opened his eye's and in front if him, was Crystal. And in her hands, was an orcarina.
Demyx smiled, suddenly the tune was rid of all sadness. And Demyx started to speed up the beat. How wierd...for him to change so drastically. But right now was not the time to be thinking about that. Right now, he would just concentrate on the song, and it's rhythem.
As Crystal's fingers slowly danced along the holes of the ocarina, she turned her attention to Demyx. Suddenly, something occured to her... where had he come from anyway? She had never seen him on the island before, and to sail here would take such a long time, she should've known after all. But... no... this moment was just too nice, she didn't want to spoil it.
She then smiled as he changed the melody of the song, it was now much more brighter, less depressing, not that she minded about the previous melody, just so long as she could hear him play. A soft smirk then appeared on her blue-ish lips as she began to play little faster than him, hoping he would understand her challenge. Yes, she wanted to challenge him, to see who could play the longest without getting worn out, either could suddenly change the tempo and the other would have to follow.
It was only a bit of fun and Crystal hoped he accepted. She was beggining to realise just how much she actually enjoyed his company, for her first encounter, this was going so very well. But, then... something happened, she felt something in her toes, a light tingly feeling. Crystal's heart sank... she would have to change back soon, she'd have to get to the water.
But how would she tell him? Surely... he wouldn't accept her. But, more than anything, Crystal didn't want to leave, as silly as it may have sounded... but...
