In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Why can't I find her? I've looked through all the worlds, searched high and low, and I still can't find her? Should I just give up?"
A man sat in an alleyway with his head in his hands. An occasional sigh emerged from his mouth, an obvious sign of his distress. A sword lay at his side where he had dropped it. Anyone who looked would recognize him as a broken man. And broken Arthas was, for he had finally lost hope. He had searched nonstop for his sister Erica, but he had finally come to realize that she was most likely gone. But he knew that she would want him to continue on. He finally stood up, grabbing his sword and having it disappear in a black mist. He turned on his heel to leave, his teleportation card in his hands, but a scream caught his attention.
"Sounds like a call for help." he said, all buisness now. His katana reappeared, held upside down for better balance as he ran out of the alley and hung a left. Running up the hill, he heard the scream again, at the train station. As he turned the last corner, his eyes widened with surprise.
Creatures of white dominated his view, creatures he was familiar with. "Nobodies." he said with a low growl, a fire aura forming around his hand. Letting out a savage cry, he launched himself at the nearest enemy, a Dancer. He knew they were very agile and anticapated its movements, swinging his sword behind him and hitting the Nobody. It slithered off as three Dusks took its place, tentacle-like arms reaching for Arthas. He grinned as he took a running step, vaulting over the Nobodies as his spell finally released. One Dusk disappeared in a burst of darkness and another was injured.
She sat up on the stoop of the entrance to the train station. Her notebook sat on her lap, open, her finger absentmindedly tracing the hundreds of sketches she's made of the various Heartless and Nobodies she's seen frequent Twilight Town.
"Nobodies..." she sighed, "It's been over a year and I know no more about you than I did six months ag--"
A whirring sound erupted as a Nobody popped into the scene from thin air. Skell gasped, excitement building in her eyes. They've never appeared so close to her before so suddenly.
"Well, hello..." she smirked. The Dusk wriggled further away from her, causing Skell to jump to her feet, "Are you to lead me somewhere, now...? Give me a lead! I won't hurt you if you won't hurt me." She leapt after it down the stairs, but the moment she descended off, it was as though a hundred popping sounds went off. She stood, stock still as she was surrounded by Nobodies.
"Dragoons... Dancers... Dusks..." she gasped and dodged a slither from a Dragoon, "I said I wouldn't hurt you!" She dodged another attempt, but was side tackled by a Dusk. Angrily, she grit her teeth and clenched her fists, preparing to set off her fire magic.
"I don't like this game! Teach me something!" she threw a fireball at a nearby Dancer, it then disappearing; yet a handful more took the opportunity to lunge in attack. As they did, Skell screamed.
She didn't remember the last time she screamed... and never has she screamed like that, before. They began to climb and claw. She'd singe them away with her flaming fists, but they'd always counter back.
She screamed again in surprise. It seemed like days went by with every lunge a Nobody made on her. It was never this hard before... if only she could whip out her sketchbook...
Metal sounded. Trying to look toward the source of the noise, she caught eye of a man. He moved nimbly, and struck with great force. It gave her a little more energy to see someone come to her aid in this town.
Running out of the midst of the Nobody's, she quickly opened her notebook and pulled out her paintbrush, thinking hard for the page of her twin blades. It opened magically to show her drawing, and with a stroke of her paintbrush did her sketchbook and paintbrush morph into a blade for each hand.
She ran back into the mess toward the newcomer -- perhaps fighting in the same area they could catch more Nobodies off guard and kill more off. Twirling around, she was able to clear the Nobodies around her, but groaned as more appeared. They didn't seem to be disappearing...

Arthas barely noticed the newcomer at first, as he was focused on the Nobodies so intently. But he caught brief glimpses of her through the white of the Nobodies. He shifted his style slightly, using his sword to fend off the Nobodies as he moved towards the new fighter. As he was about to reach her, a group of three Dancers each jumped on him, wrapping their tentacle-like limbs around his body. Anger welled up inside him and a burst of Blizzard energy bursted from his body, the small shards destroying the Heartless thanks to the close range of the attack He got up, swung his sword at one last Dusk in the way and went back to back with the girl.
"Need a hand?" he yelled, holding his sword out in front of him.
Skell turned her back to the explosion of ice shards, watching through the corners of her eyes the disappearing of Nobodies. It created a nice hole in the sea of white, which this man seemed to fill.
She was taking this second to catch her breath, "... what a great idea!" she clacked her twin blades together, and they materialized back into her notebook and paintbrush. She hastily opened the notebook to a page it knew she wanted, and ran her paintbrush across the drawing.
Out of her notebook slithered a handful of Dusks. She ran her paintbrush over their heads as they popped out one by one, marking them with a red streak so at least she knew which ones were hers. Off each of them went, wrapping themselves around foe Nobodies. A couple dropped as they met with Dancers and Dragoons, but more were successful in eliminating foe Dusks, one by one.
"Let's focus on the greater Nobodies," still holding on to her notebook, but placing her paintbrush in her pocket, she used her free hand to fire a fireball at a Dancer and watched it burn, still running around, "My Dusks will take care of their equals." And indeed they were, one by one enemy Dusks fell. But it wasn't as though her Dusks were unbeatable, as only four of her seven remained. Skell continued to aim fire at the greater Nobodies, but she was beginning to feel worn...
Arthas gave a whistle of surprise as he saw the girl summon her own Dusks, which attacked their brethren. It was helpful because it prevented the Dusks from snaring him, but the other Nobodies were still free. Their numbers had diminished quite a bit, but there were still many of them. Arthas' hand rose in front of him and made a fist, a firey aura surrounded his hand, growing with intensity until he felt it was time. He made a throwing motion with his hand, throwing it at the Nobodies in front of him. A large explosion blew most of the enemies back about 10 feet, leaving a fairly large opening.
Arthas grabbed the girl's arm and started pulling her out of the horde of Nobodies, managing to escape into the streets. He knew the Nobodies would not follow because of all the people that inhabited the area, so they were safe. He let out a sigh and leaned against a wall, his sword dissipating away.
The Nobodies were slowly cutting back in number -- but it wasn't cutting down quickly enough. Skell could feel her potential for magic dwindling by the minute, finding she wouldn't be able to continue her fire magic for much longer. Despite, she threw a few more balls of fire, and watched as a couple Nobodies fell. Her own renderings had shrunk to just one remaining -- there were too many.
But then she heard the noise of fire ripping through air, turning to see the man alongside her cast a spell that shoved their foes away. About to cast another spell, she was caught by surprise at the tug on her arm. But she adhered, quickly keeping up with this person who appeared to be an ally.
There were people beginning to bustle about -- she must have been out all night for people to begin going off early to work. Once they stopped, she stood with slightly bent posture, huffing, trying to regain her breath. She swallowed her spit, took in a big breath and looked over at the man. His sigh seemed to carry more weight than their battle deserved.
"Thank you..." she began, "For helping me back there... I don't know what would have happened had you not come. I've never seen so many of them in one spot before. The whole set-up seemed so deliberate..." she shifted her eyes, and put her sketchbook and paintbrush away to free her hands.
She then extended one in greeting, "I'm Skell." She observed his features more. For all her acute memory has for her, she couldn't for the life of her say that she's seen him before.
Arthas took a last breath then stood upright, his breath balancing out. He shook the girl's hand and said, "My name's Arthas. It's a pleasure to meet you." With a shake of his head, he let out a nervous laugh. "I've never seen that many Nobodies in one area here in Twilight Town. It seems a bit too odd to be a coincidence..." He trailed off then snapped back to, turning to the girl.
"So, Skell, what do you do for a living?" he asked, truly curious. "It seems like you're an artist or something."
Skell smiled back at Arthas. He seemed like an interesting character, "Pleasure to meet you, too."
She wanted to respond to his comment about there being all too many Nobodies at once -- she was thinking the same thing. But he had changed topics to inquire about her life. She laughed; it was a funny change, but it helped to lighten the mood.
"I try. I draw a lot. Hell, I've been drawing for as long as I can remember..." the breeze began to pick up. She hated this town for a couple reasons, the occasional cold being one of them. She rubbed her fingers together and was able to send the warmth of her fire magic through her veins. "Much better," she thought.
"I'm actually trying to study Nobodies right now. I've had a little bit of an obsession, you could call it, hah," she wrinkled her nose, "Yourself? I've never seen you around Twilight Town before. Here, let's walk..." she gestured to walk down the street of slowly bustling people.
"Run my child, run. Take it with you, keep it safe!"
"No, Mom! I won't leave without you!"
"We won't be able to hold them at bay much longer, run Ricardus! Leave!"
"NO! MOMMY!"
Dreams; quite wonderful things. One could travel through the land of dreams without any limitations; a small playground for the children sleeping deep inside to enjoy. However, not all dreams were always pleasant.
Darkness; the beginning and the end. It could bring happiness and joy but also sadness and sorrow; it was quite unpredictable and one wasn't able to choose what to get. It turned out to be fate's decision; after all, someone had to win and someone had to lose.
Hundreds of doves, fluttering around as the darkness approached their land. They knew what was coming; they knew they would die. But the nearby humes were ignorant to the dark, they believed all was well. And when they least expected it, it happened. Screams, thousands of screams, carrying terror and horror within them. All laughters ceased, all smiles were wiped off their faces. The demons had arrived and they stood before them, hungry for their hearts.
A small boy, running through a temple, unaware of the attack. He bore a peaceful expression, the only one that could show happiness at that time. But everything and everyone he knew would flash before his eyes and disappear.
Death.
It was not an end, however, but rather a beginning. The beginning of the adventure he had just forgotten...
Ricardus suddenly opened his eyes, his heart beating rapidly by now. He had just snapped out of a horrible nightmare, showing him what he could not recall. Sitting up, he raised his hands to hold his head; he was confused, where was he? A soft sigh escaped his lips as he finally stood up, looking around; he didn't recognize this place... in fact, he couldn't remember anything to recognize anywhere. He blinked once more, not really understanding what was going on.
Amnesia... quite a horrible thing.
The teenager wandered around this new city, looking around for any living being out there. He would need help... and fast. One shouldn't roam the unknown alone, especially when they didn't know the dangers that could lie before them.
"W-What's going on?" he wondered before caughting a glimpse of red. Ricardus turned his head, now able to see two people, way older than himself, standing a few blocks away. Taking a deep breath, he walked toward their direction.
"Um... excuse me. C-can any of you tell me w-where we are exactly?"
Arthas laughed as Skell explained what she did, though he didn't know why.It did help to lighten the mood, though, and he was glad it did. But the mood changed as Arthas heard a younger voice speak to him. He looked where the voice came from and saw a teenage boy, obviously lost. Going over to the boy, he said, "Are you okay? You seem lost." His protective instinct kicked in and he started looking around, seeing if Heartless were anywhere attacking. Seeing no threat, he looked back to the boy and said, "You got a name? Mine's Arthas."
Skell turned at the sound of a shy voice aimed in their direction. There a boy stood, confusion apparent in the glaze of his eyes. She frowned a little, remaining where she was as Arthas stepped forward. Looking around, she tried to see where he could have come from. She was familiar enough with the natives here -- how is it that two new people, who do not know each other, pop out of the blue like this? And after the run-in with the mess of Nobodies... something's rotten in the state of Twilight.
She looked at the boy and gave a concerned look; he couldn't have been that much younger than her. Maybe a few years. Nevertheless, still too young to not know where he is...
"You're in Twilight Town..." she began, "Or, did you already know that much? We're not too far from the Train Station. Did you come from there?"
The boy looked up at the older man, eyes of emerald staring deep into a sea of blue. For some reason, Ricardus knew he was one of the "good guys"; the man's look casted some sort of relief around him, soothing his paranoia for a moment. He wasn't going to hurt him, right?
"I-I'm not sure..." he softly spoke, his voice trailing off as he became lost in his own thoughts once more. Ricardus didn't know if he knew the place or not; he obviously wasn't "okay" or "all right". The other girl suddenly spoke to him, offering him a look full of concern. She had the boy's full attention for a moment, but alas her explanation was no good. He blinked a few times, eyelashes batting as he tried to understand.
"Twilight Town..." Ricardus pondered, tilting his head as he attempted to find a meaning to it. Twilight Town... the town of twilight... a place where twilight is eternal. But that was impossible! There couldn't be a place without day and night; the idea was just ridiculous! It was like having fish living without water or dogs soaring through the sky.
"Well I don't... I don't remember how I got here..." The mere thought of this was foolish but really, he couldn't remember anything at all! A soft escaped his lips as he heard the male speak once more; so, his name was Arthas.
"M-my name?"
His name... what was it? He searched deep inside his brain, looking for that single word; how the hell did he forgot his very own name? The young man knew something strange was going on. Suddenly, his mind flashed back to the dream he had had moments earlier; what had that woman called him?
"It's Ricardus... I think..." He looked down at his feet, almost as if he was ashamed of something; he felt quite... empty.
Arthas smiled at Ricardus and smiled, standing up and holding out a hand, saying "I can help you out, if you'd like. There's a lot of dangerous stuff here in Twilight Town, with all the Heartless and Nobodies. It seemed that this kid was lost and had a bit of amnesia, given that he was having trouble figuring things out. Turning to Skell, he asked, "Do you know anywhere here we can take him that's safe? He looks a bit scared."
Skell looked from the Arthas to the boy. She frowned a little -- where did this boy come from? She tried to string the odd issues of the day together: the hoard of Nobodies, this amnesia-struck boy... perhaps they were related. Maybe wherever he came from could lead them to Nobodies.
She hit herself on the inside. It wasn't a time to be thinking selfishly. Skell pulled open her sketchbook again and looked for a specific drawing. Once she found it, she ran her paintbrush across the page and out came a sea-salt ice cream popsicle. Closing her sketchbook, she gestured the popsicle to the boy. With her other hand, she then softly placed her hand on Ricardus's back and lead him in one direction down the street.
"Here... we can take him to a café I always like to go to..." she smiled down at Ricardus, then over at Arthas, "If it's one thing this Town has for me that keeps me here, it's the hot cocoa and the atmosphere of a nice café."
She was going to suggest her place at first, but she didn't want to reveal her home so soon to these two strangers. What if something were to happen? Better play it safe.
((Don't worry about it! I like the establishment of an order now, though. Fun stuff! ))
R I C A R D U S D A R ' N A L A "UM... EXCUSE ME?"
Help? That sounded fantastic to him right now. Ricardus needed help to remember who he was exactly; for some reason, his mind had blocked away many of his memories in an attempt to protect itself. But, to protect itself from what? This was way too confusing for him; he could only remember certain things. He knew English, which was good, as well as his name but he couldn't recall anything else. His brow furrowed as he kept thinking about it; the easiest way to remember would be exposing himself to the same thing that had blocked his memories.
Perhaps it would reverse the damage, but it could also backfire and make him forget the little he knew post-awakening. Hmm... he would have to find another way then; besides, he didn't know what had triggered the amnesia yet and he couldn't go around exposing himself to various dangers in order to find the right one.
"D-dangerous stuff? Like what?" he asked Arthas, his eyes showing curiosity by now. Yeah, the boy was pretty much clueless when it came to speaking of the Heartless and the Nobodies. If one was to pop up before him, he wouldn't know what to do other than running away. Ricardus turned his head to look at the girl now, who was drawing something in her sketchbook...
"Ok, well, there is something I feel like you would appreciate."
He watched carefully as the other boy took out his notebook and continued to draw. Ricardus raised an eyebrow, wondering why he was drawing in the current situation. But of course, he had never seen him fight... perhaps it was one of his techniques?
Before Dar'Nala could utter another word, some kind of wizard had appeared in a flash of light. He felt a slight moment of Deja Vu, but quickly shook it off. So the boy could summon his drawings... interesting. "Wow..." he managed to say, admiring the complex outfit the wizard wore. Ricardus's traveling companion was sure skilled...
The teenager blinked a couple of times, obviously confused. He had spaced out for a moment there as he had... seen something. Had it been one of those things widely known as flashbacks? Ricardus tried to remember what he could of this vision. He had been near a cementery, fighting dark creatures of an ebon color; another boy had stood beside him, drawing in that notebook of his...
Ricardus turned his head to look at the woman's sketchbook once more; so that had triggered his memory. Interesting... quite interesting; who was that other boy? The male was pulled out of his thoughts upon being offered a popsicle; a smile graced his features as he took it from the girl's hands, uttering a single "Thank you."
He walked with the girl, licking his popsicle. Strange, it tasted really funny; it was sweet, as if it had been rolled through pure sugar, but salty at the same time. The boy wrinkled his nose upon being overwhelmed by such strange combination of flavors, but he liked it nonetheless. "That would be nice... thank you. You don't really need to do this, though..."
Indeed, he was being nothing more than a burden to them.
