In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

LIQUIDS! Dammit, he knew he had forgotten something. “ Give me a moment,” he asked politely before disappearing into the floor before he could be apposed. Seconds later emerging with several different bottles of juice. “ I didn’t know which one you liked so I got several” he placed them all alongside each other on the table and created another plate that she asked for earlier.
“The cupboards are empty,” he muttered softly.
“Ok… That’s everything I think… Is there anything else you need?” he asked staring at her intently but his eyes still giving off the look of nothingness.
He thought about what she said earlier… travelling from one world to another. “ As for what you said… about travelling the worlds?” he brought the comment up in a hope to quickly grab her attention. “ I can take you to any of them, if you don’t mind the shadows.” He gave his false smile again, which now, with the fire behind him looked even more out of place. “ I can go anywhere that shadow exists” It was true as far to his knowledge he could travel to any shadow… knowing where he ended up however was a different question all together.
“I am curious however… what made you try to leave? Or was it just a complete accident that you left?”
Limber watched Darkun sink into the floor and then reappear, his arms laden with bottles.“ I didn’t know which one you liked so I got several”
The liquids inside were dark but of many different colors mostly reddish, with one that was yellow, orange juice perhaps she gathered that they were different kinds of juice.
She sighed and sat back down. She leaned back, her chair bumping against the wall, more shadows, well at least he did know how to buy things, Maybe? She had seen a faint hint of emotion when he disappeared. Irritation, perhaps?
“The cupboards are empty,” Darkun muttered to himself after he set the juice down. He had been doing that a lot. Muttering to himself.
“You changed the layout of the house slightly, The cupboards are empty.”
Limber took the proffered plate and set the chicken upon it, laying it out from the center out so that she had no overlapping pieces. She picked out a bottle of juice, dark red to start, and opened it, That was better, Cranberry, she took a bite of the drumstick. “Ok… That’s everything I think… Is there anything else you need?”said Darkun.
Limber shook her head and carefully chewed. She took another sip of her cranberry juice. The chicken was a little…dry. Her head came up as he spoke again. “ As for what you said… about traveling the worlds?” “ I can take you to any of them, if you don’t mind the shadows.” Of course he could use the shadows to go to different worlds. If he wanted he could probably have a shadow puppet show without moving his hands. This time when he smiled, he looked like a jack O’ lantern and Limber nearly laughed. She couldn’t help it.
And then he asked about her leaving, whether it was an accident.
“What, do you mean when I tried to go to the kitchen just now? Ah, no. That isn’t it is it? She carefully put down the drumstick and wiped her hands on the black napkin beside her plate, it was silky. You are speaking of my world.”
She addressed his left ear."I suppose I did intend to leave, though I didn’t want to go so far. I turned nineteen two days ago and, she smiled slightly. “I decided to see the world. Which reminds me. Limber looked around. I brought a bag with me. Do you know where it is?”
Post by darkunslint on Jul 23, 2010 8:35:12 GMT -4
“A bag?” he asked curiously. He couldn’t remember, he didn’t pay much attention. He searched the shadows of the house for something out of place. “I can’t feel any shadow out of place, so it’s either not here or it’s in a shadow of something.”
His char turned into a kind of platform and pushed him up to his feet before turning into an ash like substance and fluttered away into the air and disappeared. “Would you like me to search for it?” he queried.
“So what are your plans now? What do you plan on doing with no way back to your home world? Alone? Lost? What will you do” he hummed in a cheering little rhythm.
He walked over to the couch and sat down on it, he loved this couch, and it was the one that he had sat with Sam.
The words forced there way out of his mouth, echoing throughout the large house his angelic song rang out.
“All I ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled It is in my hands I must not fail and I must not fall
Even through the darkest days This fire burns always This fire burns always
This is the proving ground As the heat begins to rise Turn away from yesterday Tomorrow is in my eyes Oh!
Nevermore to be held down By the weights against me Nevermore to be cast aside This day is mine
Even through the darkest days This fire burns always This fire burns always
I will not be denied in this final hour I will not be denied this day is mine This passion inside me Is burning Is burning This passion inside me Is burning Is burning
Even through the darkest days This fire burns always This fire burns always
always”
As he sang, the fire now directly in front of him flickered and danced from side to side. It didn’t actually affect it, but the words just seemed to fit in with the flame…
Limber grimaced. "I must have dropped it on the rooftop. She glanced down at her jumper and traced the faint stain. It's not blatent but this has got some of my blood on it. I wanted to get changed. That bag also had my socks in it.She grimaced again. Ah, well."
Darkun spoke“So what are your plans now? What do you plan on doing with no way back to your home world? Alone? Lost? What will you do” he hummed in a cheering little rhythm and went over to sit on the couch, the chair he sat on doing a disappearing act Limber was becoming used to
It wasn't that bad.
" Alone, lost, repeated Limber archly. I don't think I'm in such bad shape. Everyone I've met has either been helpful or invited me home. I think I'll be able to survive." She looked off to the side. "though the lack of trees within the town is disappointing."
Darkun sat on the couch and since limber felt awkward sitting in the chair while he had his back to her she stood and sat at the opposite side of the couch from him.
"So," said Limber and then Darken began to sing. Limber leaned back and watched him carefully. It was a beautiful song true but someone spontaneously bursting into song was not something she normally encountered. She relaxed since the music was calming and listened carefully to the lyrics since she could hardly interject. She doubted he'd hear her if she did.
Even through the darkest days This fire burns always This fire burns always
always”
Limber repeated the words inside her head. This was like a puzzle and she enjoyed puzzles.
Could be a love song, but, practically every song of a certain type could be a love song and Limber didn't think that is what this was, not exactly.
She looked again and sighed. A song about living up to your potential not giving up and living for tomorrow or, living in the moment. Finally living and not just pretending to.These things were a dime a dozen where she came from and they were a pain because they had multiple inspirational messages, or, at least multiple interpretations of the same message. she did have to admit, this one was better composed than most. No, she amended. Extremely well composed, even she who did not gain from listening to that sort of song was impressed.
She stared at Darkun's rapt expression, more to the point was how Darkun looked when he sang. Limber smiled then chuckled, suddenly in a very good frame of mind. It didn't matter that she was not drawn in by it. To one who experienced such troubles this song was perfect. It was the one expression of emotion she could be sure he had shown.
The song ended with a muttered word from Darkun. "Sam."
And here was likely the problem. Limber shrugged and decided to take the bait. "Who's sam?" she ask quietly, trying to make her voice a little less flat. She reached out to touch Darkun's hand, scooting over to reach. There was some distance between them so she was leaning rather awkwardly across the middle of the couch.

“If you want your bag I could go get you it. Or I could make you some cloths. The choice is yours.” Darkun’s mind still rested on Sam… why did he leave, just because of what he was. It’s not like Darkun could control it.
He glanced over the girl that was no holding his hand.
“Who’s Sam?” she had asked.
“Sam was someone very special to me. But like everyone I lost him.” He felt like making a physical demonstration
“Like you are holding me now. I can never keep anyone for too long, in the end they always leave me, they slip away” and as those words left his mouth his hand phased straight through Limbers. “ I just can’t hold onto anyone.”
He glanced over at the dinner table. “ Are you finished?” he questioned, trying to change the topic. Yet again the false emotions placed into his face and mouth were probably obvious fakes to a person watcher. Darkun could pick up when people were pretending because he watched people for so long, so this girl probably could as well. Dammit.
Limber's arm was beginning to tire. when the boy mentioned the bag. Her mind was not on that right now, but then he answered her.
“Sam was someone very special to me. But like everyone I lost him.” “Like you are holding me now. I can never keep anyone for too long, in the end they always leave me, they slip away” Like a bird in a cage. He sounded as if he was talking about captives, not friends. With those words he let his hand go insubstantial so that Limber's sunk through it.
She sighed in relief and returned to her original position at the far end of the couch. She rubbed her arm. She hadn't expected a tearful admission but he was as cagey as she was.
"You were the one who broke that little hand holding session," she said. You are surrounded by shadows, which would deter most people. You drop little hints of pain and then you refuse to be clear when questioned."
Limber stood up and straightened her jumper. "No, I am not finished," she took the small plate with chicken, one of the other bottles (not cranberry) and the drumstick which she put on the plate.
"I am going outside, she said. "You will either tell me or you won't. I'm not running away, but if a few yards is too much for you to traverse then you are the one who is running away." She looked at Darkun silently for a few beats and then, with some difficulty made it back to the front room and opened the door.
Once outside she couldn't help but scowl at the sky again, she was becoming used to it, just as Darkun's shadows were no longer notable, but she felt she should do it anyway.
She sat the chicken on the ground, grasped the drumstick with her teeth, positioned the bottle carefully in the crook of her arm and spread eagle, shimmied up the trunk of the nearest tree. Once she was settled she leaned against the crook of a branch and waited, her gaze on the plate of chicken but occasionally she would look to the manor door. Not that Darkun would use a door mind you, but it was some place to look.
She wondered if he would come. She liked this little fella, her eyes unfocused, especially his hair, but she didn't like to play confidant if the other person was being difficult. She didn't like to play confidant at all, but this boy had gotten her curious. She thought as she chewed on her chicken and sipped, grape juice?"

This girl truly was intriguing. She gave a lecture, stood up and walked out. Darkun stared after the door, for a moment he thought about killing her, it was just a passing thought and it wouldn’t of cured anything. He half expected her to come back in.
He waited…
She didn’t return. He searched for her shadow and found it outside the manor leant against a tree.
He decided it was time to try what she said. Phasing into his shadow he disappeared before appearing on a branch a foot or two above and to the right of Limber.
He just looked towards the twilight sky for a few moments, flicking his azure hair to the side slowly and then, his face not turning, his eyes transfixed on the sun asked her. “ So what do you want to know of the shadow Darkun?”
Limber had finished eating and was picking her teeth with a twig from the tree. She wondered idly if there was any call for an accountant in this world.
Darkun appeared above her in the tree, casting her in shadow. "So what do you want to know about the shadow Darkun?” he asked.
Limber smiled slightly. So, he had come. He had done so through shadows but she was willing to over look that . “So, you decided not to leave,” she said.
She joined him in staring at the sun. “Why does the sun not set? I know that is probably what gives the town it’s name, but why?”
“As for what I want to know, well, I wouldn’t want to know anything but for your intriguing little hints. You seem to want someone to talk to,” she stared around at the forest and the mansion.“ Though, taking a girl to an isolated location is probably not the best way to get her to listen to your problems,” Limber shrugged, “It did work.”
She looked up at Darkun. “Keep in mind that I don’t trust you. I don’t know you well enough to care too deeply about what you’ve done and I’m not a threat. I probably couldn’t hurt you if I tried.”
She thought about that as she said those words. No, she probably couldn’t, not easily. Not without preparation and supplies. That was worrisome. If there were many people like Darkun in this world she should probably find a way to defend herself.
She returned her attention to the task at hand, finding out about Darkun or, as he put it the shadow Darkun. It sounded as if he had given himself a title though she doubted he'd meant too.
"So, she asked. "do you want to talk more about Sam, or something else?"
Limber unconsciously began to fiddle with the part of his hair that was within reach while she waited for an answer.

“I don’t know why it doesn’t set… I’ve been here for so long. Two years I think, and never has this sunset changed.” He glared at it; it was only now that he thought back and noticed how it was always the same. “You’ll get used to it, it gets slightly darker and night time and a little lighter during the day, after a while you’ll pick up on it and know when to sleep.” Not that he ever slept, he had no need to, he was sure he didn’t.
Glancing down to her, “No… you couldn’t hurt me” he stated very matter of factly. As far as he knew, this girl had no extra powers, although these headaches were strange, she said that she knew things before they happened. Was she prophetic?
Realising that she couldn’t really hurt him, and if she did go insane at him he could kill her. After all, nobodies didn’t feel, the remorse that he might feel was just a trick of his mind. “I’m a nobody, you know, those little white creatures? I am one of them. I died two years ago and now I’m just a shell.” He wondered if she’d run, or be scared.
“Seen as I’m telling you things it’s only fair that you tell me. So what about this headaches… you said you can tell what’s going to happen before it happens earlier…”
Looking down at her from the word Sam. “Ill talk about him later…” was that really something he could talk about? Was he ready to admit it was his fault he left?
Limber tugged on Darkun’s hair and put her hands in her lap. She began playing with her own. She stared down at it, it was becoming greasy. She wiped her hands on her jumper and stared back at his hair. It was so much nicer than her own black hair. “No… you couldn’t hurt me,” said Darkun as he glanced down at her. His mannerisms had improved, he was more forthright. She was beginning to regret the challenge.
So, he was a Nobody. “And what is a nobody,? she asked.
Limber slipped down from the tree and stared at the trunk. “I’m sorry, but could you take me back into Twilight Town? You can show me around and I’ll tell you about my headaches. There isn’t much to tell though.” She smiled dreamily up at him. “Maybe we can find my back pack and I can get washed and changed.”
She backed up so that she could look up at Darkun, though she didn’t actually look up, instead staring off to the side.

“Fine, to the town” he said, the shadows overflowing from the floor quickly caressed up their bodies before pulling them under to that timeless place once more.
Seconds or maybe years later they appeared, the tendrils fluttered into the sky and disintegrated to ash like the blanket from earlier. Darkun glanced up at the sun again; they were back on the rooftop from earlier. And there, a few feet away was a small satchel. “ So you don’t know what a nobody is?” he questioned. “Let me try and find some” and in that language that wasn’t really spoken just thought and one that only nobodies could hear he called out a single phrase. “Come”.
Sure enough three dusks appeared promptly looking around and instantly seeing the girl. Darkun, being a nobody was completely ignored. He watched as they began flying towards her in that strange stretchy way they do. Summoning up his three pronged blades he shadow stepped to each three of them in turn, simply slicing their heads free from their shoulders and watched as they disappeared back to the realm of nothingness. “Those are Nobodies. There pretty much white heartless. They attack stuff. And kill. I am one of them.”
Limber staggered as they came out of the darkness she hadn’t liked the trip any more this time. Darkun was standing beside her yet again and they were on the rooftop again. Limber stepped away from Darkun and noticed her back pack laying where she had left it. She picked it up, glad there had been no rain.
“So you don’t know what a nobody is?” Limber shook her head. “Let me try and find some”
She waited and soon Three white creatures appeared on the roof and began to advance. They had a way of moving that Limber didn’t like, like slinkies.
They had sharp pointy limbs and mouths with no eyes and upon their heads was a symbol similar to a cross. Odd creatures fascinating to watch and dangerous to some extent.
She was immediately wary. So, there were creatures to be worried about in this new place. She stepped back behind Darkun, hoping that he would do something about them since she couldn’t.
She was doubly wary when Darkun brought two odd swords, each with three blades, into existence and neatly severed the pale creatures’ heads, causing them to disappear.
She did not like someone beside her pulling swords. She wasn’t used to it. She was fascinated though. She didn’t know swords came with three blades. But that was something to explore later
“Those are Nobodies, he said. They’re pretty much white heartless. They attack stuff. And kill. I am one of them.”
“So… about your headaches”
Limber was taken aback that she had taken up with a killer. Of course, he hadn’t mentioned the circumstances and killing those creatures was hardly killing. There was no pleading, no blood and no crunch of bone. It was hardly murder.
She felt a smile coming on and banished it. She wasn’t sure she believed that he was one of the white things, there was the lack of resemblance to begin with, but she could believe he wasn’t human. Sort of.
He definitely had the upper hand. What to do? What to do?
Limber looked down at the street. It appeared to be daytime in the town since there were many people out and about and since they were going in and out of the buildings, the shops and business seemed to be open.
None of them had seemed to mind or perhaps even notice the white creatures and their death. She didn’t think they noticed that she and Darkun up on the roof at all.
Limber clambered down and onto the street and adjusted her pack on her back. She looked up at Darkun. “Come on I’ll tell you about the headaches as we walk. It’s lunch time,” she guessed.
Post by darkunslint on Jul 26, 2010 17:42:30 GMT -4
Darkun let the three-pronged blades fizz into the dark ash, as was pair usual with most things that he owned. Afterwards he jumped down the building, making his feat intangible as he fell to take the entirety of the fall. People gave him a glance and then continued on with their journey. They had not time for dumb kids running around on rooftops.
Quickly he caught up with the girl. Following after her he thought it best not to keep pestering her about the headaches but he really was interested. He grabbed a piece of fruit from a nearby stall a flung a Munny onto the stalls desk. Handing the apple towards the girl he just stared at her for a few seconds then he returned his glances to walking around the people.
“Why did you want to be in the streets with all these people? I can’t do anything publicly here, I don’t want to scare them.” Dodging around the people that he was so used to watching and not being in with he followed her.
Limber saw a flash of blue as Darkun joined her, walking beside her. He grabbed an apple from a stall and paid for it before he passed it to her. So he did pay.
Limber looked at the apple it was green she took a bite and frowned at the sweetness. It was a good thing she had run into Darkun, she still didn’t have any money(yes, I know but she doesn’t) Well, she amended. She had picked up a coin on the roof top but she didn’t know how much that would get her.
She examined the street, careful that she also watched the people so she did not bump into them. She knew from past experience that being short meant she got jostled if she wasn’t careful.
She was feeling grimy and thought of her bag. Clean socks would be nice and a shower, but that could wait. She wondered, did Darkun have a sense of smell?
She looked at him out of the corner of her eye as he spoke. “Why did you want to be in the streets with all these people? I can’t do anything publicly here, I don’t want to scare them.”
He sounded out of sorts like walking through a crowd was not something he usually did. Perhaps he didn’t. She was amused that he thought he would scare people with his shadow tricks. She had lived in a town about this size, people liked to think they had seen everything and would pretend that something wasn’t new even if it was. She reconsidered. He probably would scare him if he transported random people through the darkness. That was frightening.
Limber shrugged. “I don’t think your brethren like it here either. Right now I like the safety of a crowd. “ She glanced at him. She was feeling more comfortable in his presence, though his killer confession was distracting. “If we need to go somewhere or you feel the need to do a party trick, we can always find an isolated alley. People do many things in those and I myself had been one to ignore the goings on.” She nearly smiled at that.
“So, did you have any place in Twilight Town that you like? Besides the rooftops.”
Post by darkunslint on Jul 28, 2010 17:58:50 GMT -4
“Any place I like?” he asked curiously. “ I don’t really stay in the town, im usually in my shadow, I prefer watching people than socialising with them. And the only place I often appear in my physical form is the manor… no one ever visits that place” he continued to dodge around the people.
“So what else do you want to know?” he asked as they approached a courtyard, it was rectangular in shape, to one side he could see large batons, and they were coated in foam and kind of looked like clubs. He wondered what they could be used for, it wasn’t as busy here and he looked over eyeing a bench.
“By the way, I don’t really count them as my brethren… they’re scum.” Spitting on the floor for emphasis on the word.
He continued to follow her for a short period more, walking behind her before asking. “ What are you looking for? If you don’t mind me asking.”
