In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

I'm not sure if this is what everyone else thinks, but a 25 person plot is more fair to everyone else. If a plot revolved around two or three people then it would be unfair to other members who would like to get into the plot. Still, that high number can start to make it so that a lot of people have to be more active and step up, so maybe somehow we can make the plot essentially the same, but smaller. I'm not sure how that would work, perhaps getting rid of some of the Dark XII, the spot where we seem to be having the most trouble maintaining activity, or scrapping it entirely. But, what happens when we scrap the plot and maybe even scrap the Dark XII, those members that did play members of the Dark XII will get angry at losing their characters
Woo, yay for continual misunderstanding! Here's what I did NOT say:
1) The plot should revolve around two or three people 2) That all of the characters created for Org. XII be deleted.
Here is what I AM saying:
1) The plot should only require that two or three people have set-in-stone objectives.
Actually, that's pretty much it.
Here is how it would happen in Aryn's Utopia Rp:
One or two people have objectives that make trouble for everyone else. There is a solution, but it is kept secret. ANYONE can choose to solve or help the problem by means of their choosing. Put the power in the hands of the rpers.
A Nobody named Deca gets it into her head to build an army and destroy the universe (for kicks). Xemnas notices and decides to make an army to counter hers because . Xemnas needs to search. He calls, but only Larxene, Zexion, and a Nobody named Tony shows up. He tells them to recruit more members and Zexion makes nice with a pirate named Ren and pays her to go to Radiant Garden and find out exactly what needs to be done to turn Leon into a Heartless and Nobody. To do that, she finds out she needs to make nice with Leon, the RG leader, who doesn't trust her. So she asks around and runs into a boy named Rook, who doesn't have a lot of information but would like to help.
Meanwhile, Larxene, pissed off a firefox named Sage and singed her hands. So, she goes to Twilight Town to steal a potion or two, but runs into a mad scientist who thinks he has solved the mystery of the Heartless. Fed up with all this nonsense, she decides to take a vacation to Halloween Town.
Xigbar catches wind of what's going on and goes to headquarters to see if his buddy, Xaldin is there. He isn't, so he wants to leave, but Xemnas persuades him to stay, promising him a Heart, which he can't give.
Meanwhile, Deca has been slowly but surely finding disgruntled minimum-wage, Spanish-speaking workers in Traverse Town angry enough to take up weapons and start attacking blindly.
Sora hears about the trouble and takes off to Disney Castle. He runs into Xigbar instead who states that he is looking for his Heart. Understanding and feeling guilty, he seeks to help him and to do that he needs more information, so he goes to RG, where Ren and Rook are trying to think up a way to stop Xemnas and Deca.
Do you see how this works? Truly, everyone and anyone can be involved, the plot is allowed to be more flexible. Telling twenty-five people what to do is limiting. Just tell one or two people what to do, and we'll handle the rest.

That makes a lot of sense of me. We can even keep what's happened already - cause a reset is the last thing I want - and just kinda cut the future loose. We'd probably have to make all threads open, and have some idea of when things happen in relation to each other. Everyone will have to keep track of their own continuity and share it when it comes up.
Kaze, not at all, I just hope I'm making sense. Rook, If you've a way to make the history less complicated and still make sense, I'd love to hear it. PM me or something.

...Well, after reading that, I choked on a cough drop. :/
Besides that, the whole concept of a plot like that does sound good, but we just have to make it make sense. Though, being the pessimist I am, I can see people who are buddies including each other first, then including others who would help them in what they want to do later. Still, with most people, it would work out pretty well.
I agree with Serif. If we just reset and disregard everything, many crucial things that had happened would be gone, and all of the characters would have to meet each other yet again.
One thought, though, it is definitely a problem that there are so little votes out of so many members. If those members don't really have a preference either way, at least say it so we know you have looked at this thread and considered the options.

That's why someone impartial, staff member or not, would be best suited to be the so-called "games master" in this. There are far too many circles and cliques on this site, and I know of a few feuds what might stall participation. The general storyline would be best left in the hands of someone non-partial, and handed over to those who can make it happen, if the person non-partial can't do it themselves.
I will try to stop giving Deca ideas on the basis in that it's really not fair to the disgruntled workers of Traverse Town.
I think as far as neutral party goes, the problem of bias can be solved with a simple system of checks and balances. After all, we elect a President every four years to do many things for us, knowing full well he will have bias. This is a logistics argument though for another thread. This one is for opinion....
One thought, though, it is definitely a problem that there are so little votes out of so many members.
For the first time ever, I agree with you 100%. We really do need way more people to get a good idea of what the site thinks either way. We're closing in on twenty and it's a fairly even match. Can we push for thirty by the end of the week? Fifty by next week? Poke people!
I had not voted, because I do not take much interest in the plot as it stands, and I was just doing my own thing. However, I do like Aryn's Idea, and that falls under a new plot.
From my point of view, this is just a few people trying to do what they want, and it ripples out from there. Which is pretty much what is happening on the site. See: Kefka. We are about to have a full-on fight on our hands, with many characters in it.
Just keep in mind that whatever the final decision is on the plot, it needs to stand so that anyone (with the RP skill) can mess every thing up, and make it take a completely different direction. It needs to be able to change.
Well that would be odd. If the plot was totally free reign. I'd feel as if the lack of structure in that level of freedom may be a bit too much. I do like the idea of a person's actions effect the plot, and it can even be a dramatic effect, that way you will have the element of surprise in the telling of the story, but you are right. All characters need to have the same potial ability to alter the going plot. not everyone may be able to or want to, because their character isn't the kind who would do that, or maybe the player doesn't want to, but all and all, the character should have the ability to take it somewhere new if he or she wanted to.
Everyone already has this effect. The moment you bring in a character, you bring in another element to something. This is not a play we act out, nor a scripted affair; this is the collective story that follows and depends upon the actions of not only ourselves, but others as well.
The key half the time is being in the right place at the right time, or in the right threads. As for characters seemingly being minor... there is a ripple effect. Every thread a character is in has some effect, and sometimes things one hears or sees in a thread directly or indirectly effects another.
Edit: Some plots may hinge on emphasis placed on certain characters by others, but in truth... well, I'll quote Barbossa.
"More what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules."
Another issue with the current plot of the site as it stands, is that it heavily implies Sora, Xemnas, Ansem, Mickey and Roxas being active enough to help the plot move along per the story we're given. 'Bluey', who controls two of those five heads (and plot-pivotal characters) is rarely active in the posting community. If we were to keep the current plot, she would either have to be participating quite a bit, or relinquish creative control of the characters, perhaps to Yuffie or another mod, lest we reach another standstill.
It's not a different issue. It's the exact same issue. If we only require a few members to have specific objectives, and be active, it shouldn't be a problem (provided the people we pick are actually active). Again, this is a logistics issue to be solved in a different thread.
Hey, Yuffers, if you're reading, would you be willing to send a site-wide message urging people to express their opinion? I don't know if that's kosher but...ya know, if you're willing If we could get 50 members opinions on where we should go with the plot then our discussion on logistics and such will be justified. Also, do you know if there is a way to edit a poll and say add an option C: No Opinion?

Psh, don't tell me if I'm reading this xD Sure thing Aryns. And no, no way to edit the poll itself, once the poll's been in place the options are final, you can only really edit the starting thread.
EDIT: Some people can't vote because they can't open the topic, it freezes their computer, so... I have one person who votes for option B after me telling them so long as the Dark XII is still being involved in it, revision of the plot, not the characters that already exist.
Well i personally like the plot as it is, although i haven't seen many members take part in it though, i understand the current story and i'm trying to follow it, with my characters. My suggestion would be to create some new plot's for the worlds and keep the main plot as it is, honestly we've all seen the games right?. So we could just invent some plots for the worlds so that all members can take part.
I've been making my character travel all the worlds so far in order, and some visits have been fairly short, it would be much more enjoyable if their was some kind of twist and turns to the world plot's, leading to the conclusion of the main plot.
Basically, i think that you should keep the plot as it is but invent some new plot's for the worlds so that all members can take part in.
Yuffie- I seem to have the same problems when it comes to poll threads en total on this site. I've found that using another browser (i.e. internetexplorer in place of firefox, etc) might clear up the problem. I tried it with this thread, it didn't freeze, now I can open the thread from anywhere with no problems.
