In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Okay, okay... So I finally start to poke my head in here; I never lurked, I probably skimmed over most of what was posted at first, and now I'm almost falling asleep at the keyboard that I'm using. Mind you, it's not because what all of y'all have typed out, many of you have good points and strong arguments to support those points.
However, as stated before in this thread that I have seen, neither Organization has played much in the RPs of these threads (which I'm highly unpleased with, considering a lot of Org. Members on either side were taken a couple months back by people that haven't shown up since... personally, I think they should be assigned, not up for grabs. Just my opinion) So why have a plot that's got a lot to do with them? There's also the fact that all of them are pretty much deceased, thanks to Sora in the previous games. I don't remember reading up on how they got resurrected... or perhaps I just wasn't reading the fine print.
Moreover... I think the plot should be revised, and as Aryn puts it: "started from scratch", though with many of what happened in the games explained as well. People play a game and sometimes never play it again. Perhaps having a little reader's digest recap of events should be typed out by whoever has got the time to do so and contribute to that. I'm not saying that I contribute a whole lot to this site as it stands, after all, I am but a mere Instructor that's willing and able to assist inexperienced RPers sharpen and improve their writing skills.
Wars in the RPs? How the heck can we pull that off? Most of the threads that we have that consist of four or more people die within the first month. It's really a sad sight, especially when there's 'post hungry individuals' (*coughmecough*) and people out there that just want to RP and help the plot move along. Now, I know we have a good amount of people here that are active within the boards, I'd say about twenty o or twenty-five of us that have been active for the past half-year or so. If there's a war that's needed within the threads, I think it should be discussed more thoroughly among the RPers of the site.
As for the plot now... I liked it, really... but I really do think that it should be rewritten and revised.
While I've already voted and am basically a lurker at this point, I'm here to say that I think the plot seriously needs to be revised or patched at the very least. Fill in the major backstory of the site so people can know what's happened and then work at it as needed.
I mean... the war is really narrow as to who gets let in in the plot and the people who are in the war aren't all that active at times D:
Shiay is to Velum as Chipmunk is to Bear (in more than one sense... heh). It's just hard to get the plot moving when it's like that >> Even I'm slow with my response times due to technical issues I'm having, and if that were to happen to someone more important to the plot (i.e. Aryn) then the whole thing would have to be put on hold, which is... bleh.
A plot is a large thing with many moving parts, you want a few still moving if the larger one stops.
Diz Tiger is too tired to try and make sense of his point right now.
Starting a new plot may be hard, but it's really necessary to get that plot rolling.
I admit, that as soon as I joined WD, which was last June '08, the plot doesn't even move at all. Like, I didn't even felt something that it was already moving or somethin'.
Adding OCs and other characters may work, but it depends upon the plot's "essence". Just like a plot I heard from a site: They joined some OCs in the plot, and even calling them "Special Characters", to separate from SC to OC. *cough*KH: Shadow Frontier*cough*
Still, having the idea of Organization XIII revived for an unknown reason is a bit... off. Having some witnesses, other characters or somethin', that they saw "something" revived them is a great idea to have some OCs investigate about it, asking those witnesses for that "answer" they wanted to know about.
Dark XII is a cool idea, having those Heartless dudes make the Organization crazy or whatsoever.
And the feeling of having two evil sides fight over a non-existent world, The World That Never Was, was a bit off for the good guys. Like, how could Sora and the others fit in their struggles?
Having wars at different worlds, and even with Gummi Ships is a very cool idea for them to fit. Just like the anime Gundam Seed, like they have 3 forces, and they fought each other.
This will result a three-on-three clash:
Org. XIII is against Dark XII and the Good Guys. Meaning they have Dark XII to deal with Good Guys, and they have Good Guys to deal with Dark XII. But also they have to deal with each of them as well.
Same goes for Dark XII, having Org. XIII and Good Guys as "allies" for their other enemies.
And even the same thing for Good Guys. I hope you could understand this situation.
Well... in this case, their natures actually act against it.
The keyblade wielders have a deep grudge, as a collective, against the Organization. The forces of good do not end here Good and evil are relative, but in a way it's not just them -- there's the support of all the free worlds behind them, and the King's forces. I can fully imagine that mobilizing in a grand melee reminiscent of the old cartoons...
The Organization does not 'ally'. They use, coerce, and/or assimilate.
The Dark XII are, by nature, creatures ruled by their own selfish desires and hunger. They can barely work together as even two people, let alone a whole -- and working with outside forces is more likely to be joining forces with someone to destroy someone else in the number. The exception may be Ansem, who probably intends, just as Xemnas, to bus the rest of his minions if convenient or possible anyway so not to share the spoils of war.
Seriously, we have over five-hundred members and only twenty-six of them have opinions?
I think if by the end of this week we are still under fifty votes in total, it'll be a pretty clear indicator as to what percentage of this site is actually involved. I know some people claim to have no opinion, but that portion of people should be much smaller (certainly under three hundred).
Took me a while to get to this, mainly because I wasn't exactly sure what to say.
As great as a plot may seem, if it has to do with a large war, chances are it's all just smoke and mirrors to try and make it seem more than it really is. Person A fights Person B. Person C is having problems with both groups and so begins the three-way war, then Peoples [1] need to pick a side to help. This is what the plot currently is on both World Destiny and many other places when you look at the skeleton of what it is.
The skeleton to this one is one that isn't very sturdy, wobbles at times. The doctors needing to work on it (local role-players) can't seem to figure out just what is going on, and so it would seem no one's wanting to make the first incision, every waiting idly by, waiting until one does, and then everyone's on it like it's nobody's business, making less people want to be involved due to that sort of... feeding habit.
That's why war plots don't work all that well. Overused and cause too many problems with such cases as being active as well as the gathering effect. They're about as predictable as old Scooby-Doo shoes. You know the ghost/monster is just someone's experiment, hiding under a sheet, a hologram, whatever. Scooby-Doo was an old show, I'm fairly sure we've all outgrown it. I think it's time we outgrew the plot.
A plot doesn't have to be one filled with darkness (the number 2 word most used in the Kingdom Hearts series) in order to be good. It just needs to be creative. Given some thought, group thinking, brainstorming, I'm sure that we could manage to sum up something interesting, one that everyone can partake in, that's unique. Perhaps not a total change, but a little more faded from the whole 'glory of war' plot that I've been a part of one too many times.
Well Tess, you more or less summed up everything that was floating around in my head since the start of this topic. It is indeed time to dump the war oriented plots. So right now, what have we established? That more people feel the plot needs a major overhaul, that only thirty people are going to even be fully participating in this plot out of the large amount of members actually signed up, and that the mechanics of the new plot need to be freer and more defined.
So, we seem to be at that point where brain storming needs to actually start since I have my doubts that we'll get up to fifty people in this thread. Then again, that's my negative thinking...lol though, maybe someone will come along with a new point to make.
Hmm... personally, I think I agree with the sys reset option (that's Option B for those not familiar with the term)...
Flexibility is something that is very important to an RP. It's just that you've got to be careful with it. I say that before you do anything, you need to gather a bunch plot ideas, suggested for example from the characters and what not, and weigh each one over the others, see which ones are compatible with each other, etc...
I personally favor RPs that not only include Disney World and Plots, but also Final Fantasy worlds and plots.
For the Final Fantasy like plots, I actually ran an RP that went off of the "Elemental Crystals" theme that the first 5 final fantasies utilized.
