In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Lyon nodded his head to what jawn was saying and pulled down a book before flipping through it. "If they choose to betray us, let them, I have an escape route at all times, I don't think you do. And I may trust you slightly but don't let that make you think I'm going to let you follow me around got it?" He said it with a cynical tone near the end.

Erika chuckled, while flexing her fingers as the light energy sealed his wounds. "I doubt you will ever meet him. He's far away on a distant planet in city neighboring where I grew up from." Looking at him she pondered, "I doubt he would have a reason to ever leave. Plus I doubt you would be able to kick Grandpa Wally in the ass. You know I think he would wake you in the head with his staff for saying that."
"There all done." Erika was too engrosed with getting the task done that she didn't feel the absense of Jawn and Lyon.
The gunslinger's head tilted at the battle scars that decorated Max's arms, then shook her head, "Jeez boys can not help, but to play rough and taking glory in their battle scars." Her eyes narrowed slightly, but softened. It seems his scars were just little reminders of what he left behind. "I doubt you can scar me fore life. Come on Donkey Kong do your worse."
Jawn chuckled at Lyon's answer. There must be something he wasn't getting. Jawn still didn't know what he was getting at but he had a general idea. Still not looking at Lyon he picked up a book he thought was rather interesting. A book completely of history. He liked history, he never knew why, he just did...
"I didn't even know you trusted me at all... but what about the people huh? When you think about it, there's no such thing as a vacant castle. The people are probably waiting for us to escape. And not to mention her. She has that gun, with that you would either lose or that thing would take over again. Honestly, both of us are screwed on our own. I'm not suggesting we stick together. I'm just saying, in case something happens, don't be suprised if I choose to help you, helping you over them if they go traitor saves my ass too"
He said while reading chapter one of this history book. He was pausing sometimes in his sentence when he found something interesting in the book. Who knows maybe it could provide well information
Max grinned at Erika as she talked about her teacher, laughing when she said he'd probably smack Max in the head with his staff if heheard Max talking about him getting kicked in the ass.
"This tutor of yours sounds......interesting," Max said, grinning as Erika finished healing him,"I'd like to meet the guy. Shame I can't."
Gus grin widened as she told him to do his worst in trying to scar her for life, like he'd been serious.
Instead of speaking, he just reached up and pulled his cloak off, then pulled his shirt, still sticky with blood, off, leaving his torso and arms bare. His upper arms, now uncovered by the concealing clothing, were revealed to be relatively well muscled, a fact that his body build hid well.
With the shirt gone, Max's body was revealed to be covered in scars, most of them on his arms, with a few on his torso. On his left shoulder was the scar he'd mentioned to Erika, a large, jagged arctipb of discolored and smooth skin.
"There," he said, pointing to it and smiling up at Erika proudly,"I took an Invisible's sword to the shoulde, like I said, and managed to escape and get healed. And this one!"
Max pointed to a longer scar on the back of his arm. It was long and thin and white, stark against the slight tan Max had.
"I got this one during my time at the academy," he said,"I was training with my squad when all of a sudden Donovan falls down a cliff because he wasn't watching where he was going. I tried ti grab him as he fell, and he yanked me down with him."
Here, Max have a small chuckle, smiling down at the scar.
"we landed on a small overhang about ten feet down. I cut my ame on a jutting rock as we had fallen, but it wasn't bad. It didn't even hurt.It took an hour to get is back up to the others."
Max's smile broadened and brightened remembering his old comrades, the brothers in arms he'd fought beside against the Heartless for three years. They had been more then just friends: they had been like a second family to him.
"Those were some good times," he said quietly, looking up at Erika, spreading his arms to show all his scars,"So, any specific ones you want to know about?"

Lyon chuckled at the man. "Look man, you can't always be paranoid. Have I thought they were going to turn against us. Yes. is the thought weighing me down? No. So chill besides that guy's locked up. Far as I'm concerned he's not getting out for quite some time. And if things start to turn sour, I'll bolt. I'll leave it open for you to get out as well, won't let the others though. Control over shadows allows me to dictate who I want to pass through the portal. Just give me that." He plucked a hair from Jawns head. Closed his eyes then opened them.
" There, you're good to go. Now I just need to find this castles treasury. Soon as I find that, I've got it made." He started walking through each of the rows running his fingers along each book before shifting to another. Why was he doing this, simple he was searching for any hidden passages or levers. Every castle had 'em you just needed to know where to look.
(you should definitely make it so one of the books acts as a lever for something crazy to happen.)

Blue hued eyes blink as the clothing was pealed away revealing scarred flesh. All of them were different with a diverse story like the rings on a tree, each showing the plant's life span with little marks here other with little tales like being striked by lightening.
The one on his shoulder was healed completely of-course, but her mind already made a visual of how gruesome it looked when it was freshly created, bruised, and healed. The idea was enough to make her cringe, but the sight of it now was bareable. If she was to ever see an Invisible, she could possibly somewhat replicate how the event occured.
That was one that stood out the most, but there were still a few here and there standing out as smooth blemishes on his skin. By this point in his life, getting wounds were probably natural that the pain was a part of second nature and fully expected to the point it can be ignored.
"Well aren't you a encyclopedia of scars and stories. Now that one," her head tilted to see it in a different perspective," looks like a J."
"Hey do you think all the heartless are gone and that dragon is ok. I don't want to 'over stay our welcome; even though this place seems to be dominated by hexed brooms at the time."
Jawn smirked as Lyon had said this mostly because he already had found something good. He found a map in the book he was reading... he now knew his way around the place. He saw something that caught his interest when looking through it, than ripped off the cover and started to draw a copy of the map on the white side of it. As he finished he looked at Lyon who was still hopelessly searching. He walked right past him without a word and shoved the book coverin his gut hoping he'd grab it, giving Lyon what he was looking for. Than he ripped out the page with the map on it and tossed the book to the floor.
Without acknowledging anyone else was there, he walked out the door and turned to the right. He now had an idea of where he was going. And was going exactlyy where he needed to be.
"Oh......this one.....," Max said, feeling a small pit settle in his stomach as Erika pointed out the scar, sadness coating his voice, "I got that one because of Donovan too....except.....he stabbed me. We were in our encampment, waiting on the Heartless to come. We were defending a pass to Forst Sentra, where the gate to our world's heart was, and.........I don't know what happened to him, but he lost his mind and went crazy. He started running through the camp, attacking everyone.....even me and Michael. He killed Michael with a knife to the throat, and then stabbed me.......it could have been worse if I hadn't stepped back as he started to rip it out of me, otherwise all my insides would have ended up on the ground."
Max's voice caught slightly as he continued speaking,"Instead.....I took him down with a lance to the heart."
They weren't all about pleasant memories, he was suddenly reminded. Some had truly terrible stories behind them, not the least of which was the story about Donovan going insane.
Max shrugged as Erika asked about the dragon.
"I honestly can't say," he told her, pulling his shirt back on,"He should be fine, though, even if he had to run. Dragons aren't exactly easy to take down, even for the heartless."
As he finished speaking, he heard a loud slam as a book Jawn had been looking at hit the floor. Max gave him a questioning look as he buckled his brooch to hold his cloak on himself, walking over to the tome, and picking it up.
"Try being a little more-......hey! Where're you going?" Max asked as Jawn walked outside the room. Max followed him, poking his head out of the door as Jawn walked off to the right. That was when Max noticed them.
At the far end of the corridor was a large gathering of high-level heartless: Invisibles, Fat Bandits, and at least half a dozen others, all in a group of about 30.
"Jawn," Max said quietly, trying to keep from drawing the heartless' attention, none of them having noticed them yet,"get back in here.....now......"

Jawn thrust the cover into his gut, and he made sure to grab it just as it was about to fall when he let go. He looked at it and smirked. Jawn, you are a handy person he thought. As the older man was coming to where they were he quickly slipped the cover into his jacket.
"Jawn,get back in here.....now......"
He turned around to look at what the man saw. Heartless, lots of them. He turned to the man, "You have the worst luck you know. After this I'm outta here. Girl, your guns charged?"

Erika wondered of all scars she would choose the one that brough too much painful memories. Now she felt personally guilty about even being inquisitive about them. Taking the chance to cease her curiousity, the gunslinger looked away from his scarred body and back towards the group of silent chatting brooms.
The subject swayed instantly with her concern of the dragon; she simply nodded to indicate that she listened. The silence was disturbed with a heavy thump; her head turned towards the source of the sound, and her eyes landed on...a book. Then a motion blur drew her attention away; Jawn was leaving.
What now.., The gunslinger rose from the floor heading towards the door as well. "Jawn what in the world are you thinking?" A brow arched in wonder. Why was both Jawn and Lyon here in the castle? She knew Max's and her objectives, but theirs were shaddy.
Lyon was a thief, and his first impression wasn't the sweetest. Jawn was trying to capture the thief. Why would fate bring them back together in one setting yet again? Hearing Jawn's question, her brows furrowed wondering why he was so curious about Elissa and Eleanor.
Jawn knew something was up. He was going to attempt to save this castle. And that history book was what allowed him to do so. He knew exactly what coudlv'e happened. But still had no idea what did happen. As he spotted the heartless he took out his two swords. Not charging. Not saying anything. Just walked on as if they were nothing. If he could he planned on walking right by them. But he couldn't and he knew this. He walked through the hallway. Not all that close to the heartless, but close enough for them to charge.
He was on his own once more. He didn't want help. He didn't need help. Jawn was a lone fighter, and a lone fighter he was going to stay. As he heard Max he didn't even bother to look at him.
"Our fates aren't going to intertwine. You live your life I live mine. I'm walking my own path. choose to follow if you wish. But I will not acknowledge you"
He said as he walked away. He was a different person now. He knew what was wrong and knew how to fix it. He also noticed something that others normally would not. He had an idea and he was about to follow through with it. The only thing in his way were the people behind him and the heartless in front of him...
"Damn fool!" Max hissed at Jawn quietly as he started walking toward the Heartless. Just when he thought they might still have a chance to remain undetected, one of them turned and noticed both him and Jawn, and Max quickly turned inside, looking at Erika. "We leave now," he said, putting his hand on her shoulder,"Jawn is choosing to go out on his own against those heartless, and iff he wants it that way, I'll oblige him. I won't waste my life trying to save a fool. Hurry. The heartless are coming."

Lyon redrew his osafune, if they charged, he'd use the light in this room to make shadow. Let's see them make it across a field of spikes he thought. He looked to Jawn, he was prepared but he wouldn't help, and that was just fine by him. He knew he could fight but he also knew his arsenal relied on thrown weaponry and close range fighting.
He turned to the older man. "By the way the names Lyon."

"What? Are you serious? He's just going at them head on." Erika sighed lightly, while shaking her head not liking the scenario that was unfolding. Safety was better when there was more power, which was found in numbers. In an instant, the quartet was splitted between two individuals and a pair.
"We'll let's get going. Hopefully the brooms would be safe if they just stay in this room." The words were muttered slowly as she busied herself loading up the dual pistols. "Time to go."
Jawn stood for a second looking at the heartless. Quietly without movement, the heartless had hesitated. And he knew exactly what he was doing. Hesitation would get him killed. Making a mistake would get him killed. His only goal at the moment. Avoid getting killed.
As he stood there looking at the heartless they decided to attack. Starting with a simple attack of shadows surounding him. Spinning around with his blade he hit them all head on and rand towards the pack of heartless. It's time he fought the best he could and actually did something. Now he was on his own fighting heartless.
