In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Lakuri was a little nervous when she had found out where they were going. She didn't like following people to where they lived. It make her feel trapped, however, she was able to keep her cool, only seeming a little nervous, unlike the last time she was in a similar situation.
Lakuri aslo denied Jadis's offer of food and other such things. " No thank you." she said politley, it was hard enough fr her alread to get her nervous feeling to go away, she didn't need to feel guilty too.
she was also very surprised by the silver liquid. Lakuri had never even heard of any other magic powers besides her own, so everytime she saw a new one she was very surprised, and quiet interested in it. "How did you do that?" she said in disbelif
"As for any question, I have far to many.. so I think I'll just listen to the others who are less clueless than I am and try to understand."

Jadis hummed as her eyes closed momentarily before dropping a drop of the silver. Straight from the blob, a goblet full of milk grew that Anya had requested, while the remaining two denied her hospitality. "Unfortunately, this isn't 'technology' to be given freely and massively. It solely works on those with a skilled natural mystic hand; also with great quanity comes abuse, so I must say you have to find another option to rid of starvation. I must say you have a consistency of inconsistency of subjects."
Her hands clapped together before stretching apart as snowflakes began to gather in a core for a crystal ball with an open top. With a whistle, lightening orbs filled inside to race around the interior as light rippled from the top in a light show of a rainbow spectrum. "Now back to the topic at hand."
A slim dark brow arched at Cryus straight forward question. Oh the ignorance of children to be at a rush of it all without learning the simple building blocks. Such rush was starting to annoy her, since it was vastly evident in many people she had crossed. "Before you can ask such questions, you must learn the depth of the universe's predicament first by understanding the essential...problems."
Leaning forward, she placed the crystal bowl on the table before two figures can be displayed, a hume and an Animal. Animals are particularly different from animals thanks to their higher level of consciousness. Some are even able to walk on two legs. Three orbs began circling around them as they glance around unaware. "You see we are all composited of three things such as: the heart, the body, and the soul. Now if you haven't noticed, these portions can split. As you see we are made of Light and Darkness, two complimentary elements. There are few exceptions to the imperfection."
"Continuing, what may happen if there was a inbalance? Let's demonstrate Darkness." On cue, a black mist swarmed around the two figures. They naturally hold weary frightened faces as the Darkness wrapped around them. "Now the heart is what attract such element, and when the heart is fully consumed by Darkness, an inbalance, and change occurs."
At once the figures shrank into wobbling shadows with large yellow blinking eyes with twitching antennas. "You see because Darkness create such children many deem the element evil, since so many with dark intentions abuse the element giving it a negative connotations. So perhaps before calling a heartless a beast; look in the mirror, because they were once like you, and easily you can be amonst The Lost Children and become a Child of Darkness."
"As you see a part of yourself is split to form this heartless, the heart. So if your heart is corrupted heavily by darkness, you can become a heartless loosing both your body and soul. What happens to it, no one knows; perhaps they cease to exist momentarily. "
Her arm waved over the bowl errasing the two shadows away. "Now in some scenarios, the Lost Children can go through a different process. In cases, even a strong willed heart falls to darkness no matter their intentions or path in life; regardless the results are the same."
A new figure, a strong warrior, came into view standing proud and stronger. Again darkness creaped at him before devouring the heart. A black mist puddled forming a heartless, while retaining his human form. Next to it a grey spiral bubbled emitting another figure that looked similar. "This is a fitting example where the self (The Heart, The Body, and The Soul) splits into two indentities. You have your Heartless and a Nobody."
"You already know the Heartless is the heart, which leaves the Nobody to be the body and the soul. If the heart is strong, the soul can move on to animate the body born of Nothingness being a Nobody. As you see both are similar, they root from the same person. The differences are; a Heartless lives a basic life, survival and reproduction, while a Nobody have a higher level of consciousness to make higher goals."
"This is where people ignorantly see Heartless as mere beasts and creatures, while failing to realize they were once one of us. Think about it this way, a Heartless is basically us bubbled down to a simple nature of an animal. With the Nobodies higher level of consciousness, people find them a bigger threat." The Heartless and Nobody stepped out of the bowl before strolling towards the guest like a sly fox.
"So you asked if someone manipulating the heartless. With heartless living a basic life, they lean towards any higher bidder that have their interest. The thing is not anyone and everyone can do so, but regardless they will be acting in their very nature by devouring hearts to be stronger to survive or making more Heartless. The Nobodies on the other hand take orders, since they have a higher consciousness to go above and beyond."
"That's where this bring the worlds today. The overflow of both heartless and nobodies have thrown the balance off its scale. With a nobodies that can plot and heartless that can strengthen in numbers and ferocity, you can see how the worlds are endangered. It doesn't help that there are elite Heartless and Nobodies about."
Jadis leaned back and crossed her legs. "Now you see why I am defending this world. With it's precious treasure, it's heart, on the top list and had nearly been taken, this world needs defenders to oppose any forces of inbalance that pose a threat to life as we know it. That is why people shouldn't roam so freely without regards to the true dangers about. Also by not knowing the faces of a friend and foe apart instantly makes it even more hazardous."
"I think that's enough story-telling for one day. Lately children's ambitions are growing to high beyond their strength; by that more die or become Lost Children. Any confusion?"
... The wise woman was as wise as she was arrogant. The princess suddenly felt a great disappointment for the person she considered a perfect role model to follow was as flawed as any other person.
"I understand .."
Trying to contradict the former empress would be as pointless due the difference in wisdom, so she simply kept for herself the disappointment and remained in silence watching and listening to her lesson about heartless and nobodies. It was all fine and dandy, but that's the kind of knowledge that anyone in her world already knew except for the nobody part, because they appeared very rarely but nobody knew from where they came from despite research on captured nobodies demonstrated their relationship with heartless and souls/bodies.
"Even if they were once human, we should treat them like the mean parasitic monsters they are now, just like we do in my world with other human-born monsters like the ghouls, zombies and some demons"
She may not look like that, but the princess had her fair share of adventures with the enemies of all that's good prior to her arrival to Traverse Town, sometimes are the heroine, sometimes as a maiden in distress.
"And the bad nobodies sounds like average human criminals, so they should treated like that."
Cyrus paid apt attention to the Ice Witch's explanation, though the reminder that all Heartless were once human hurt more than he thought. It was easy to think of the Heartless as mindless monsters, but to know that each one destroyed had once been a life truely put into mind exactly how many worlds had been destroyed and eaten. Who knew - a heartless he destroyed may have been a friend, no matter how unlikely. The downcast expression he wore showed his discomfort with the idea.
Even so, he had to agree with the princess; unless there was a way to reverse the process, the Heartless had to be fought. Still, it was a good warning against straying too close to the powers of Darkness. However, the girl's next sentence made him regret ever agreeing with her.
"And the bad nobodies sounds like average human criminals, so they should treated like that."
The Nobodies. That was definitely something new. Though he'd love to brush them off as just another nuisance, the thought that something possibly as strong as the Heartless could plan made the threat seem very real. "I don't know how many fights you've been in, but I've had to count my blessings that Heartless can't think to save their life. Even when surrounded by hordes of them, they'll keep making the same mistakes. No sense of self-preservation."
"These Nobodies... having the ability to plan means they can learn," he reasoned, turning to Jadis. "Just how strong are they anyways? Are they as tough as the Heartless physically? I've never had to fight one before, but I'd like to know what exactly we're up against." He critically examined the model Nobody on the table, as if he could judge it's strength just from that. The Heartless and the Nobodies...definitely not good.
He still wanted to know who these 'Elites' were, but he had a feeling she wouldn't give up that piece of knowledge just yet.

Lakuri watched and listened very closesly. She was happy that Jadis decided to start for, what seemed like the beginning.
It made Lakuri feel bad when she said the heartless where once people. It also made her very scared... if there was so many heartless around, whos to say she wouldn't become one herself. And her fear only got worse from hearing about how the nobodies were created, from people with even sronger hearts.
"Excuse me.." Lakuri started quietly, she haddn't talked for a while so she wasn't really sure if she was alowed to. "Um... I am a little confused of how exactly one becomes a heartless... or nobody for that matter. 'cause you say the heart goes to the darkness.. but what does that mean exactly? There seem to be so many heartless, is there really that many people who decide to go towards it? and what can someone do to prevent it from happening to them?"

Jadis watched Anya's expression. She reminded her too much of Max as they were both too head strong, which can bring more chaos. She had already seen the dynamics between Max and Roze; despite them being brothers (humes), he only desired to destroy him because he was in fact a Heartless. It was depressing how one can easily turn their back on humanity even if it was in another form.
Jadis' position was to perseve balance, and anyone disrupting it must be dealt with accordingly, which was quite different in demeaning Lost Children to parasitic monsters and slaying them as if they were mindless beings who weren't human. She wondered if she will ever meet someone who would empathize with the heartless and wish to save them from their torment of a primitive life that will end in being destroyed by their own brothers and sisters.
"I can't judge a Nobodies' strength compared to a Heartless for they are all different. Of-course a Heartless may rely on natural instinct like a pack of wolves, but Nobodies actually plot. In short, never belittle any of them. No one knows what experience or power they may come across including levels of consciouness that may make them more hazardous."
"That's why I'm a teacher of a sort. Many children these days run into such danger head on with pride and youthful ambition. They are forced to grow quickly to survive and need a proper teacher, then watching trial and errors of life and death situations."
Her eyes blinked once hearing Lakuri's soft voice yet again. "The truth is not everyone goes to darkness willingly. Sometimes darkness overpowers a struggling heart or a weak heart doesn't put up a hard fight against it. I don't know how one can avoid it. Perhaps staying in numbers will lesson the chances, because even the strong-willed fall, which makes a Nobody. With more numbers, you have more personal connections to your hearts, and with people who cares for you, they will do all to protect you."
"Also there's a difference amongst heartless. Their are some with a marking, an emblem, while some bears none at all. The significance I don't know, but I must say the emblems come in a wide stretch of varieties and specialities. Either way, people should be alert and well-versed with what surrounds including the Heartless, the Elite Heartless, the Nobodies and their Elites, as well as other individuals with dark endeavors that can threaten the natural balance including innocent lives."
"Maybe you should publish a book and spread your teachings to everywhere. I have plenty of money and can fund such altruistic kind of activities."
Knowledge is power they say, and that was a lesson the Tsareva royal family knew well from the time the entire royal family was almost killed by the efforts of the revolutionaries trying to install democracy and a change by force, thinking that all the family was to be executed by the sins of the head of the family.
"Anyway, in my opinion heartless and nobodies aren't that big of a deal. Trouble only arises when the world lacks of guards and soldiers to repel their advance."
Maybe it was due her experiences with paranormal activity in her world, but not even the toughest heartless she found until now was a match for the devils and gods that once a while appeared in her world, now that kind of creatures were scary and induced fear in the hearts of everybody.
"In fact, I think the worst enemy are the bad humans who would seek to profit from this situation and those who can control the heartless. In my world we had cases of humans allying with heartless who did their bidding despite they acted like wild monsters usually."
Cyrus found himself somewhat envious of the World that Anya came from. The guards from his world were essentially worthless and lazy, and couldn't hold their own against an actual threat. She doesn't understand how lucky she is that her world managed to survive the Heartless attack.
Even a strong heart could fall to Darkness. The fact drove him to seek a purpose even more. Joining Jadis's group was a route that hadn't been available until now. It was almost convenient, in a way. He continued to dwell on the information that had been given, not saying anything.
[OC: Basically a skip in not so few words. He's just waiting for Jadis to answer his first question :3]

(you guys totally tripped me out XD i saw you posted and i was like D: i thought it was my turn!)
Lakuri didn't like the answer to her question. If.. plainly anyone could become a heartless, and they only way Jadis knew would help as be be with a number of people... Which had never been Lakuri's strong point.
" B-but... If thats true then..." She paused, trying to gather up her words in her head, and also trying to control herself. " I don't mean to sound selfish.. but then what are the chances that someone like me surviving this?" She looked away from them at the floor. "Almost no one likes me...." she said then quickly glanced at her necklace. Then she looked up agian.
She did also listen to what they others said, but she was to caught up in her little panic to really think about it.

(u.u the only reason she's avoiding it because a.) doesn't it seem awkward for an oblivious person to be asking a direct question about the Dark XII; it doesn't flow well, which a lot of people need versus them 'jumping on hunting the Dark XII band wagon' Also she implied that no one have to control them for them to wreck havoc. It isn't the best way to 'get involved' with the plot. Also if she knew where they were and she's advocating world balance...would they still be alive?)
"And that where the problem is Anya," Jadis leaned back in her chair, "there aren't proper guardians and not long ago Nobodies tried to devour this world's heart. If no one was there to even notice, then this world would be fragments and not a sanctuary world where many land when their own world is destroyed."
"Also in these times, both sides are becoming quite devious as if they have a certain goal. The Nobodies that came here didn't had any concern for anyone else. I was nearby and they complete disregarded someone's presence, since they were so fixiated with what is known as the keyhole."
"With this ordeal, an enemy is those who disrupt the natural balance. Also like I said the Heartless are capable to do as they please which is devouring hearts, which further more disrupt the balance. Hume or anyone else assisting is only quickening the process, since they are an aid. With the nobodies as well with their fixiated desire, which to revolves around the heart, you practically have numerous parties deteriorating life as we know it for their own particular desire."
Her ears perked hearing Lakuri. "It's not a selfish question at all. You are concerned for your own heart and humanity; some people forget about that becoming to absorbed with 'fixing the problem' that they don't even think about their own condition. My best advice for you or anyone who feels such way is to be stronger."
"This situation is truly depressing for many people have to mature at an irregular rate to survive, since the worlds aren't kind to all. You have to keep your heart strong and always stay with the Light. Also when I say like I mean the element as well as its connotation, your faith, your hope. Although they are totally different, there seems to be polarity between the two."
"That's why I'm somewhat of a teacher, one who is quite hands-on, so I don't know if a book from me will be helpful. But a book on this situation would be resourceful; here I am talking to a group who just learned something they didn't know. Now picture how you could've learned that the hard way by this world and everything around and in it."
"I think I could've learned about the heartless and nobodies by myself soon or later."
She made some remembrance of the words her teachers and parents always told her
"My mentors always told me that book smarts would never replace direct experience, and I think lady Jadis learned by herself about those things as well."
She then looked at her little automaton companion. It was currently in rest mode to recharge it's power source.
"We could solve the lack of soldiers if only we could improve our robot technology and mass produce them. Gustav Karl may look like a little toy or a midget, but he packs a mean punch!"
The little robot was equipped with sharp blades that could slice flesh and bone, strong thrusters to jump high and long and it's sure kill technique was a powerful beam of icy death. Truly a great bodyguard and partner in crime for the princess.
"But he's not very smart. The AI is hard to program and robots like my Gustav Karl rely a lot in the controller, so they aren't really independent. So far we have steel soldiers who guards well static locations, but they need to have manually programmed what is a target and what is a friendly unit."
The little robot danced as ordered by the princess, this time unfolding it's sharp blades to perform a dance of slashy death. If somebody where to be directly attacked by the small robot, that thing would be sliced to ribbons.
"He and my special technological tools are the reason I'm not afraid of heartless and nobodies, we are a 2 in 1 team and he can't have his heart stolen because he doesn't have one. Everybody should have their own little bodyguard."
"Experience won't do you a whole lot of good if you're dead," Cyrus muttered to himself, at Anya's comment. He eyed the robot critically as it did its deadly whirl. I don't need some stupid robot to do the fighting for me. While it would hold its own against Shadows, there were definite flaws against it. That thing would keel over against one of the floating Heartless.
"Anyways, another question. If the Heartless are trying to eat people's hearts for more power, then what are the Nobodies after? You said they were smart enough to set a goal right? Or are each of their goals different?"

It seemed to Lakuri that every answer Lakuri got was going agianst what she was capable of, this made her even more nervous.
" I've tried!" she said a little louder than she would have liked to. she quickly toned dow her voice agian though. "I'm sorry for yelling.. But.. I've tried to get stronger my whole life.. and I just can't do it. I don't know how.." she said and I looked very frusteratedly down at the floor.
'What am I doing?' She thought 'I should be going back... but This information is really helpful... maybe a little longer..'
Lakuri put her face in her hands and then rubbed it, took a deep breath then looked back up agian. "I'm ok, I swear" She said cheerfully, she wasn't about to have her mood change infront of these new people, who knows what would happen then.
Although Lakuri was very confused at what Anya was talking about with the mechanics of her little robot friend, she thought that is a pretty cool thing. "Thats pretty Amazing Anya, not that I understood half of the things you just said... but its cool how if can protect you." she said and smiled at her
