In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Lakuria erupted as she felt she wasn't skilled to better herself for survival sake. The girl was indeed at the brink of frustration, but the ice empress decided to let her cool down from her meltdown before giving an oppurntunity.
In reply Anya proposed by the use of technology. What in the world is with children always wanting to overdo their toys? Jadis blinked at the little robot-thingy-mabobber,"That is quite a resourceful bundle, indeed."
She didn't want to shut down the idea like a stone flinged at a bird until it dropped dead. Resourceful it was, but they aren't a formiddable opponent to the problem. Everyone would be busying themselves depending on a temporary object that a nobody can learn to destroy or be damaged by heartless as well.
"But I'm looking forward to building up the people to stand on their own two feet. It will be better for people to find a sense of community among each other than an object to be controlled. Also we wouldn't want technology like that to be used against us. Remember when I mentioned the Elites; well they would seem to be like you and I. Anything resourceful they will manipulate to their liking, and I wouldn't put their intelligence to the test to prove us wrong."
"I've already saw one manipulate a maiden's scientific desire to seem 'friendly'. So fixiated she wouldn't know if she was talking to a schemer or a favored specimen." Eyes moved to look at Cyrus as he asked another question. "Weren't you paying attention. I've already stated that both sides have an interest in the heart. What they plan to use it for I have no idea. You'll have to ask a Nobody that, and I don't find that as a wise idea."
After concluding Cyrus' quiestion, she looked towards Lakuria. "I'm ok, I swear"
"Well the proper way to fix that problem is for you to have the proper teacher. If you like aid, I can assist you. I might as well put all of these decades of studies to use."
After hearing the words of the wise witch, she felt that somehow there was some sort of bias against science in part of the former empress.
"Same could be said about magic and combat skills. With enough resources and knowledge anything can be reverse engineered to learn how that works and how can be used against their owners. That's how I got my gummy ship, we borrowed one from a traveler and in no time we learned the know how of those transports and how to build them."
To learn how to produce even the most basic kind of mechanism everybody had to study hard and dedicate a lot of their time devoted to polish details and find flaws in the designs.
"And science is hard to replicate unless you happened to be well versed in the field of science your subject of study lies. Judging by what I saw, hardly any world uses technology and most uses magic, so I doubt there's engineering experts between the ranks of the nobody, also there's not much that researchers in the fields of magic can do to understand the complex mechanisms of robots even if they are the smartest nobodies in the world and they would have an easier time copying the magics of the wisest and most powerful human mages"
What was wrong with this people? Only the girl of colorful clothes seemed to understand the value of technology while the less than friendly warrior didn't talk and simply looked with disgust at the robot and the former empress while more polite about her opinion, she had nothing but negative words to speak about it despite her own art of magiks was even easier to replicate than technology given the magic-focused approach of many worlds.
Then she heard the former ruler's example of a scientist gone mad due obsession with the subject of study and that once more proved her bias against science.
"Everything has obsessed people. There's also the warriors whose only thing in mind is battle and would do anything to satisfy the thirst for battle and perfecting their arts of war and the magicians so focused in their magical studies that becomes slaves of their obsession and let magic devour them. Don't think too bad of science only due a bad experience with an obsessed person, for many obsessed people would betray their friends if they had a chance at satisfying their desires"
She wondered what would her tinker fairy friend think about this situation. Her tinkering was more primitive for her world was one abundant magic, so she would understand better this situation.
"You couldn't be further from the truth there, princess," Cyrus growled out. For her to treat magic as something that anyone could copy, as if it were some cheap trick; he was tempted to simply roast the robot on the spot, to prove a point. "Magic is far more flexible than your little gadget. It grows with the person using it, so copying something never works as well as the original."
"Besides, Nobodies only lose their hearts, right? So all they have to do is turn some brainiac into one of them, and bam! Mass production." He shook his head clear of these thoughts. All this talk was starting to give him a headache. "Anyways, we've gotten off topic." He turned back to Jadis.
"Back to the Heartless. Do you know if there's any weak point of theirs? I mean, sure, I can light them on fire, hit them around, but is there maybe a spell or a weapon that's more effective?" Granted, the Heartless were predictable, but their advantage in numbers created problems.

Lakuri looked very surprisedly at Jadis, she would never have expect that offer....but... could she take it? Lakuri thought about it for a few minutes, she figured that she should reply quickly anyways.
She glanced down at her necklace agian, then back up at Jadis. 'What do I do?' she thought to herself 'Do I follow my heart.. or do I try to survive....' Lakuri wished the answer would come easy to her, but it didn't, this debate went back and forth in her head, every possible positive and negative of both sides, try to make her pick both, but finnally she decided. "I hope I'm not screwing myself over" she muttered to herself
"As much as I'd love to accept your offer... I don't think I can right now." She paused and smiled "Before I decided to come along, I was acctually looking for someone who....is very special to me, and I don't really know if right now would be the best time to make any other arrangments."

"Now now children let's not get so fiery. Magic, science, science, magic. Both can be manipulated; both can be learned; both can be abused; both have their rules; both have their complexity; both have their shortcuts. Regardless a method must be formed to protect the world efficiently. As an old sage of deeper magic, I teach it, since it works with one's soul and I've been learning it for over ten centuries. If there was one who with science as I'm with the true discipline of magic, then one will teach it and make one own contribution with his or her expertise."
"Also as stated before, let's not underestimate the world around us including both heartless and nobodies. If they were such simpletons to handle, we wouldn't have gathered here today, one would've already found a swift way to decrease their numbers, and many will be living in their own corresponding worlds."
"Whichever route you decide to make can easily effect the worlds and your own life and humanity, so choose wisely."
"Now as for weaknesses, Heartless and Nobodies...think logically. Heartless is darkness; Nobodies are nothingness. Naturally they both don't cope well with Light. Magic can repel them well as well as efficient combat. I'm sure since Nobodies have bodies to tend to, while as for Heartless they don't. They are more harder to get rid of, nor do I recall a method that will truly rid of them."
The respect she felt for the wise woman returned after she admitted that magic was subject to the same rules and weakness of science. That's what expected from a person who lived for ... ten centuries? She sure had some weird powers if she was able to live for so long and still retain her sanity.
"I'm sorry for what I said previously, but I worked so hard and for so many years to be able to work with machines that I feel bothered when somebody talks about technology as if it were something anyone could learn how to create and use immediately"
She then looked at the arrogant and aggressive warrior. Definitively lived only for battle as she mentioned in her example of war loving warriors. He was so obsessed with fighting with the heartless and nobodies that couldn't care less about anything else.
"The weapon you carry could be considered a little gadget too. I don't know how your world progressed technology wise, but everything is born from tinkering with the unknown to find new technologies. Your weapon and magics would never exist if our ancestors would've never tinkered with the many metals, woods and elemental energy, and that's the scientific method everything follows, it's the very basics of tinkering and creation of new objects"
Maybe that would teach the arrogant warrior to be more humble because without those researchers who devoted themselves to discover how to create better tools like his weapon and magics and even the fighting style he probably learned from somebody else, he would be nothing but a thug.
"Weakness to light ... maybe I should change the beam cannon of my little Gustav Karl from ice beam to a beam of light, although I think it's current setup is more useful"
The arrogant warrior spoke about magic evolving with the person, but same was the case with the princess and her tools for she constantly upgraded them the more she learned and adapted them to the different situations.
"Maybe we should try to find a method to give a more physical and solid form to the changing heartless or find a way to detect the heart they use as core to deal a critical hit that could destroy immediately the monster"
He had to admit, science was impressive, to be sure. Still, it felt like it was cheating to use it to such an extent, cowering behind a machine, but with the Ice Witch playing neutral, there really was no point in arguing it any further, no matter how much he wanted to. "Whatever," he replied, mulling over Jadis's answer.
Light magic... Fire and Lightning are as close as any element, but pure light? The idea seemed intangible to him; Light magic had always been healing back at home and very few experimented with it in battle. The fact that even such an ancient being had no idea how to completely destroy the Heartless made him even more frustrated.
"Who's crazy enough to study the Heartless? They'd just be corrupted, wouldn't they?" Cyrus growled in frustration. Fire flared to his right hand, and he stared at the bright flame that could only postpone the inevitable. "But if we're fighting a war of attrition here, we'll lose." The flame dispersed, and the warrior let out a sigh.
"Whichever route you decide to make can easily effect the worlds and your own life and humanity, so choose wisely."
To fight. Isn't that what he had decided long ago?
"Even if that's the case, we'll still have to fight, huh? 'Cause giving up is not an option, right?" He clenched his fist. "Then would you mind if I joined your group?" As long as I keep fighting...at the very least, they won't win. He stared at the Ice Witch with determined eyes.

"Whichever route you decide to make can easily effect the worlds and your own life and humanity, so choose wisely."
That phrase destroyed and confidence she had in her decisson. Was she trying to tell her that she made the wrong one by picking love over strength? Lakuri sat quietly agian, thinkg this over. If she where to take Jadis up on her offer, sure.. she would be much stronger and have the ability to defend herself... but that also would mean, most likely, loseing the one thing she had wanted her whole life, someone that loves her. Lakuri wasn't about to give that up. so she looked back, confidently at Jadis and said.
"Well then, I may just be screwing myself over, but if all of these matters are about the heart... then wouldn't being with the one you love help?" She felt very good about this reply, from what she understood, it acctually seemed like a smart one.... which definantly wasn't the case very often.
On the otherhand, all the talk about science vrs. magic really confused her. She didn't undrstand either of them in the slightest, so she just sat and lisened which the others disscused it.

"With hard work and time comes great contributions, and surely we all can find a solid solution to bringing the world's inhabitants closer together with the essentials of the laws of nature which calls for both science and magic. Also we can surely start on finding routes to distill their tainted hearts like stripping darkness from them." Jadis replied towards Anya. Finally peace was returning back to this unity.
Jadis hummed at Cyrus' earlier questions about insanity and study heartless, "When working so close with darkness, one will have to be extremely careful, but many arrogantly think they have everything under controll until it's too late. Darkness isn't the kindest of elements."
"And yes I would appreciate the addition in numbers to aid this world. The world will be grateful to helpful contribution," Jadis nodded at Cyrus before turning on Lakuria.
"My dear, you are so young naive young," The ice empress didn't know where to start. Love comes and goes; it can always be grasped again, but life is one in a lifetime. "We are discussing life here including our heart of humanity and our own lives. Would being with the one you love protect both of you from loosing your humanities, forgetting who each other are, and stop you from being amongst those who were opposing? Yes, a strong heart can take one far, but love alone cannot replace strength. It can fuel it, but never replace it."
"So love, if you're comfortable with living with love, but not growing stronger to protect it, then the choice is yours."
"I don't want to influence her choice, but I think she should follow her dreams and live the life as she wants."
She hadn't paid attention to the girl with the colorful clothes until now due all the talk about science VS magic, but now that she did, she thought that in her case she had to live her life to the fullest, because she didn't look like one to have adventures in locations with many monsters.
"If I hadn't tried to follow my dreams, I would still be living in the royal palace living the life of a common princess, but my dream always was to find new places with new people to learn about their invention methods, someday I want to be as good as my mentor Gustav, the namesake of my robot"
Freedom ... nobody really appreciates it until it's lost forever, and sometimes it was better to die doing what you love than living like a little bird inside it's cage.
"Not everybody was born to do something great in life like fighting against monsters and become a hero, simply live it as you want to live even if it costs your life, or at least that's how I see life, I prefer to do what I love till the end than having a long life regretting my past choices. Look at me, I simply want to be a great inventor and help to create alliances between worlds. Dedicating to directly fight the heartless isn't something I have in mind unless they are in the middle of my goals"
And then she decided to make the most important question of all.
"What is your name? I never got to hear your name when I joined this chat group."
Cyrus gave a thankful nod to the Ice Witch, steeling his resolve to fight. No going back on this. He turned his attention to the current conversation regarding the odd haired girl, Lakari or something like that.
Though he understood the desire to live life the way one wanted, he agreed with Jadis. Love without Power wouldn't save her from the Heartless. "Love also breeds darkness, though, right? Anger, jealousy, hate; takes a strong person to keep on walking when things don't go well, doesn't it?"
"The Witch isn't saying you gotta fight the Heartless, but you should at least try to get the strength you need to protect the things precious to you." All this sentimental talk wasn't his strength though, and he stayed quiet after that. It was best to let her make her own choices.

"So love, if you're comfortable with living with love, but not growing stronger to protect it, then the choice is yours."
Once she heard Jadis say that. Lakuri lost control. She'd never been able to protect anything in her life, not even herself, she was always the typical D.I.D
She looked at the ground, away from everyone else, and she couldn't stop her eyes from watering. ' Can nothing I do ever be right?' she thought to herself.
Apon hearing Anya speak to her, she felt a little more hopeful. She still didn't like to even concider the the possibility that her decission could mean the end of her life, she was to young for it to be over.... but that wasn't somthing that apperently could be avoided. She looked up at Anya and wiped the tears off her face and out of her eyes. "My full name is Lakuria, but most just call me Lakuri, and thank you.."
Then she heard Cyrus speak to her.
"The Witch isn't saying you gotta fight the Heartless, but you should at least try to get the strength you need to protect the things precious to you."
Lakuri was surprised that he said somthing that wasn't about fighting for once. She noded " I know... But I think, I have to find that strength in my own way.... but thats exactly the problem... I don't where find it." "and to be honest, I don't really want to fight... I just want to learn how to defend myself, which i guess could be concidered the same thing.." Lakuri paused and tried to make what she said make sense in her head. "I guess I don't make much sense do I?" she said and sighed

"Not at all," Jadis corrected, while leaning back on her chair. "You're young along with many others. Unfortunately with the predicament thrusted upon us, to live happily, we'll have to drive ourselves to protect it."
"Also learning defenses isn't the same as offenses, but it's better to know something than nothing at all. I don't bother myself with heartless because my aura make them uneasy to approach. There are many defensive spells and methods that doesn't call for actual fighting like one would do in a war, but its still atleast something to preserve what you have."
"Normally a talent can always lead to our own strength. Some say you know what you want to be or going to be at a very young age. Even unconsciously, it's there. You'll have to dig inside yourself, find that spark of you, and pull it out."
Who knows? maybe Lakuria had a hidden, cool talent waiting to be discovered and exploited. She knew for sure that her talent was already discovered in her case.
"Lady Jadis is good with magic, Cyrus is good with fighting and I'm good with machines. What kind of talents could you have?"
She knew so little about Lakuria than she didn't know what could be her specialty. Maybe footwork? maybe cooking? maybe magic? Sky was the limit for the kind of silly ideas the princess had in mind for Lakuria, like a chainsaw wielding berserker girl, what an amusing mental image.
