In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

If he had known better, Rook would have been furious at Marluxia. He didn't like the Nobody. He wasn't anything close to chums with him. But he wouldn't have figured Lexaeus was as much a test as an adversary. Regardless of such, he might have called the summoning of the Nobodies "cheap" or "cowardly' of not for the bleeding wound and echo in his chest. He had worse things to think about than possible infractions of the rules. That, and he truly doubted Hades, watching above, cared even a bit.
"I grew up in the wilderness of Hollow Bastion... no one has ever accused me of bring smart." He peered side to side, looking at the new numbers that he faced, and resummoned the BlackJack. "But you bring up point... Marluxia wants something out of me. And I'm tired of being the one pushed around. So I'm gonna shove back...Fifty-Two Pickup!"
The Keyblade spun and Rook held it aloft, aiming it on the Silent Hero as it began to form a whirlwind in its wake, strong gusts of wind, likely strong enough to knock the lighter Creeper's off balance, if not blow them back completely. Holding up his free hand he aimed his palm through the blade's spinning shaft, "Guard Light!"
His palm redirected numerous times in Lexaeus' direction, the blade chopping the single length of a blast into many shorter ones which Rook hoped he could sporadically aim well enough to hit the Creepers and Lexaeus' all at once. If Marluxia's plan was to convert him further, Rook wasn't about to disappoint him now. He had a tournament to win.
((Edit: Yes, 52-Pickup is a documented and noted ability of the BlackJack. It's listed as such in the Keyblade's list here on the site.))
(And now me and Marluxia's plan commences. *Evil laugh*)
Tch. Rook was holding out even longer then expected. Raising a dome of earth around him Lexaeus silently cursed Marluxia. The Creeper Nobodies turned into their shield forms to protect their master. Many of them exploded on impact while some stayed behind and turned into a sword and swiped at Rook.
Lexaeus would stay inside the dome until Rook attacked again. Marluxia told V to lose. But he was bound to orders from his superior. Tch. Again with orders. Marluxia had better not overstep his bounds. Flicking his wrists Lexaeus made some Dusks appear.
More!? Rook was beginning to get fed up. Lexaeus could hide all he wanted, but sending in these peons to do his work? That was plain insulting... but fine, if that's what he wanted, so be it. He had handled Dusks before. Creepers less so, but the weaker Nobodies were nothing to worry over.
He grabbed one of them in sword form and wielded it with his BlackJack, cutting down two of them before flipping the Creeper sword and kicking it away. Spinning low, he cleaved another Dusk in two at the hips, and gave another look about. They still vastly outnumbered them, but if Rook could fool Lexaeus, he could fool these beasts...
He let out a cry, something that doubled both as a raged scream and a yelp of strange new sensations. Across the arena, above, to the side, and all around the perimeter, ddark portals opened up, a dozen of them or so. Rage took over and it was evident in his eyes. His left hand took to his chest, covering his aching heart as he lunged into the portal, cleaving right and jumping into the next, cleaving again.
Time and again he repeated the process as the Nobodies dropped, falling victim to his labrynth of portalwork and surprise attacks. All but one. The barrier still stood and Rook saw that as his final challenge.
Turning towards it, he grabbed the BlackJack's handle with both hands and bumrushed the dome, a lunging slash that cleaved through the rock, and as Rook growled, trying to quell the pulsing echoes in his chest, he wondered if it was enough to stop the one who hid away inside it...
Just as he wanted him to do. He knew Rook would eventually go berserk. Lexaeus saw the keyblade cleave through a portion of the rock. He could also see Rook standing outside of it. Break. "Break!"[/color] Lexaeus said in his head as the rock dome formed cracks in it and the sounds of it filled the arena. 3 seconds passed before the sounds started up again. And then....BOOM! The frontal part of the rock dome exploded outward.
"Sorry Marluxia, but I don't lose."[/i] V thought as he took Torn Heaven in hand and waited.
Rook ducked at the noise. It startled him more than anything, and it took a second to comprehend what happened. The front of the dome exploded forward, shattering, but after cleaving through its width with a forward lunging attack, Rook was standing to the side of it. Spinning his whole body, Rook relocated himself to the side of the opening, switched his Keyblade from an upperhanded form to an underhanded one, and jabbed the blade backwards, directly into the middle of the hole in the dome where the large behemoth's frame was sure to take up.
With Torn Heaven already drawn Lexaeus stuck into the ground as he stepped back as a way to throw Rook off. The Keyblade hit the tomahawk with a Clank. Lexaeus placed his hand on the back of the rock dome and began to make it crumble on top of Rook. The rocks began to crack off and fall. If Lexaeus was to do what Marluxia wanted, Rook needed to lose. But for some reason Marluxia also wanted Rook to win. That man is a puzzle.
Rook jumped backwards as the dome collapsed, rocks falling and skinning up the front of both his legs and tearing long holes in the legs of his jeans, a lucky rock knocked the Keyblade from his grasp and cut the skin of the back of his hand. He wasn't going to give up now, no matter what. He faltered at his last tournament, and wouldn't make that mistake again.
Sliding on the balls of his feet, he placed a hand on the ground to balance himself and bore into another charge, picking up the Keyblade as he ran. As he sprinted across the arena floor, he held his hand up again, firing the Guard Light as he bore down on his target, a constant beam that only let up as Rook closed his fist, leaped upwards and towards the Silent Hero and brought the BlackJack down in a sharp, sweeping motion. "Fall! It's over!"
((Fixed. You're right. It was cool against a bunch of weaker npc's, but a bit crazy against anything else. Truth is, it's getting past 1am here, I have work tomorrow, and I'm trying to finish this fight. X.X This'll likely be my last post of the night.))
Seeing the beam of light coming at him V thought it be proper to open his own portal and send the light to the dark. Snuffing it out. Lexaeus saw Rook coming at him and pulled Torn Heaven upwards and entered a dead-lock with him. V still had some latent strength left. The Flare still seeping outwards giving it's owner more power. Lexaeus decided to end this. Using his energy to cause the ground crack under Rook to send him plummeting downward. Check.
((You and me both. Rook's been through enough now, can't we just let him win? >.>; ))
With the ground cracking beneath him, Rook didn't know what, if anything might lay in wait below. As it crumbled, he stepped in, kicked Lexaeus in the side of his knee with all the might he could muster. He began to fall downwards, but spun with the impact of his kick, aiming low as he fell and gave another slash across both of V's thighs, and grabbed Lexaeus' cloak, tugging firmly. If Rook was going down, he was brining Lexaeus with him.
