In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

((In retrospect, I'm pulling out of the tournament. Not exactly how I intend Alaric's introductory plotline to go, since I already have plans for it, none of which fitting with the tournament. If it's possible, can I sub in Rook instead to keep the bracket full?))
Rook had been to Olympus once before. Just before meeting with the King on Destiny Islands. He had met Jason here once again, and gotten his first taste of his true fates through the Nobody's crystal ball. That day he had done his best to instill the seeds of future warriors by giving a smalll boy the golden bracer Rook had just bought himself. After seeing the visions, Rook didn't believe he had much longer for this plane. Perhaps that boy could be a great Hero, one that Rook could not.
Now, he had answered the call of the dark and evil Hades, lord of the Underworld... and one of the original Hellfire Club led my Maleficent that held the Bastion for close to a decade after Wise Ansem's apprentices stabbed him in the back. Armed with the knowledge, and his last dealing with tournament play, Rook was ready to make his mark, maybe take on Hades himself if possible.
His Dark portal closed behind him, and Rook did his arm up, cracking knuckles, loosening his joints, breathing calmly to help from winding himself (the downfall of his attempt at a tournament). He was glad to see that his first opponent was from the Organization. Marluxia was sure to be watching out of interest for both contestants, and Rook hated to let people down...
He paced slightly, awaiting Lexaeus' arrival. The Silent Hero was strong and fast, but Rook could adapt easily. And his own powers were gaining intensity the longer he stayed in The World That Never Was... which led him to believe that Marluxia's offers and enticements were not without foundation...
Lexaeus had been unaware of the change in his opponent. He assumed that Hades was going to prepare some form of trickery. It made no difference. Lexaeus has only ever lost to one person, Ansem. And it was going to stay that way no matter what.
He boarded the boat and waited for Pain to begin rowing. As it turned out Pain couldn't...Lexaeus was too big for the boat. Letting out a sigh a dark portal enveloped him and he arrived in the arena.
He looked directly at Rook and made Torn Heaven (His tomahawk) bleed out of the ground. Grasping it in his hands Lexaeus asked who he believed to be Alaric, "Are you ready Alaric?"
Rook smirked a coy smirk. So, Marluxia is keeping me under wraps for the moment... That was a large plus on Rook's side. Rook, for once, knew much more about his opponent than his opponent about him.
"Lexaeus of Organization XIII... the 'Silent Hero'..." Rook gave him an unimpressed look and nodded at the tomahawk, "Compensating, I take it?" He took a breath, "Let's get this done with, hm? I have other people I'm looking forward to fighting in this tournament..."
He shirked off his blue vest, scars littered the arms that tossed it aside. Straightening his back up and cracking a few tight vertebrae, Rook nodded at him, "Come on, big guy. Show me what you've got..."
So, this is Rook. Marluxia had told Lexaeus to not let Rook know the other Organization members knew about him. It would give V the element of surprise to know his opponents abilities before hand and not have his foe know. Lexaeus let out a slight grunt at Rook's words. He placed Torn Heaven on his shoulders and activated his Flare ability. Marluxia had told him about this child's fast combo attacks. Flare will put an end to that. The wisps of pink, white, and black energy seemed to seep out his Lexaeus's upper body, then they violently shot upwards and made a un-damaging shock wave be sent out Rook.
"Tell me. Who of my comrades have you met?" Lexaeus said as he slammed Torn Heaven on the ground and made a seismic wave generate underneath Rook to make the ground collapse under him.
Rook felt the arena rock around him and shielded his eyes from the bright lights that circled above. He stumbled to keep his footing and knew that while he was off-kilter, the attack would come. And so, Rook fought fire with fire.
He clenched a fist over his chest and it began to glow bright white, the energy of Light forming into a ball in his hand that he clapped together with his free arm, creating a blinding light in its wake as he dove to the side, rubbing at the stars in his eyes.
Shaking his head to clear his mind, he reared back. Stronger and faster, Lexaeus was, but again, Rook had the important ability to improvise. He almost, and would have, taken Marluxia down that way if not for the King's desire to aide him. Rook winced. Did he really just think that? Damnit Marluxia...
He paced, walking backwards in a circular motion waiting for the Silent Hero's next move, "Met? Only one... But I get to see a lot from there. Plans, machinations, ideas... I know what the Organization is in for, and you have no clue... do you?" Partial lies. He knew Marluxia was a schemer and an opportunist. Did he know completely what the Assassin had in store? Nope. But Rook was forming some pretty good ideas the longer he stayed with him.
"This boy sure knows of the inner workings of the Organization..."[/color]
Lexaeus slanted his position and drew Torn Heaven back and took aim at Rook. He saw Rook sightly disorientated. Taking the opportunity to attack Lexaeus threw Torn Heaven at Rook. At the same time the Flare around V grew stronger. Making a upward motion with his arm, a boulder shot out of the ground in front of Lexaeus. Pulling his arm arm back and making a fist Lexaeus yelled,
"Break!". He punched the boulder causing it to explode into splinters and jetting towards Rook.
Lexaeus wasn't pulling any punches this early on, it seemed. Fair enough. Rook would take his own governor off. He opened a Dark portal on front of him and ducked behind it, the opening appearing over Lexaeus' head, any of the debris that filtered in would redirect to falling on top of him.
He held his hand over his chest again, and it began to glow white and taking a deep breath he thrust it into the middle of the door's opening. "Guard Light!"
Hopefully it would catch Lexaeus unawares. That would give Rook an opening for a lot more. But even after using the Guard Light, Rook grinned. He still had a few more trump cards to play out before he would call this match over.
(Im actually wondering how Rook can use portals. As I've read he used his first one only this month. With BlackJack drawn)
Lexaeus didn't even give a look of shock as Rook opened a portal. He expected as much, with Rook being mentored by Marluxia. V had prepared himself before hand for Nature based attacks before he arrived. The instant the portal opened above him Lexaeus made his Flare grow stronger, thus making the small bits of rock crumble as the made contact with it. As for the Guard Light, all it hit was the ground. Lexaeus had already darted at Rook using the rock beneath him to help the Hero appear to be skating across the ground. Using the rock again, Lexaeus made a short flat top spire lift him high in the air and over the portal of Rook's. Torn Heaven on his shoulder, V grabbed it and threw it at Rook. Even if it was to miss, it would bounce off the ground, hit the barrier and come around full circle.

((He's been using them for some time, he just never comprehended what they were or how they affected him. That and given the fact that Marluxia has been corroding away at his resolves with his promises of power...))
